#MTX Experiment: Cosmetic-Free Worlds (July 28th - Sept 30th)
1 messages · Page 2 of 1
well surely they didn't add Dessous and Damis
they don't have any gear
this feels closer to ok if you remove the smoking stuff
they added damis
Damis dark is one I'm personally a fan of
Nice dark aesthetic
Imagine if that was an actual boss drop rather than TH... what we could've had
any way, just add a particle toggle
They could've added those fire and Ice armors as drops if they gave us the Fire/ice giant boss that osrs has
early game boss? they wouldnt have bothered wasting their time with that
Early game is just as important as end game, idk why they wouldn't
cause they didnt think that for 20 years
If anything we need to stop giving end game shit, we are already power creeping super hard
if we're talking today there's still the issue of like... standards
desert treasure is pretty pre-GWD
and anything pre-GWD is piss easy with "mechanics"
I mean... I would expect that, not every boss in the game has to have insane mechanics to learn, especially for newer players
see that's the problem
it's really not
there's nothing in between piss easy and "insane mechanics to learn"
Honestly looking through the list at diango trying to find problems
I found a few I think is the opposite of problem
This is actually kinda nice
for the era
because GWD have pushovers with no mechanics, everything around them and before also have to be pushovers with no mechanics
then when the player encounters their first actual mechanic, there's a reddit post complaining about it or asking people to join their instance to help them cause they can't wrap their head around it
I mean.... It is a MMO, people should be asking for help on learning mechanics
very classic era of mtx team throwing shit at the wall
remember the huge cosmetic packs
also looking at the diango stuff
gnomeballer clothes
not from doing gnomeball
scam
provided the cosmetic toggle becomes a thing, if people want to pay jagex $50 for that I am very happy
I expect the cosmetic toggles to be comprehensive, but I hope they at least make it a "rules for thee not for me" toggle
Definitely expect there to be several toggles in end
A toggle per slot, so if someone still wants to wear their 120 cape while actually wearing the zuk cape they can or something
But I still wouldn't be upset if it was a few worlds that are cosmetic free, both options are good, even if they don't expect worlds to be a thing
Jagex is not a public company
jagex is currently owned by CVC? they are public.
What do you mean? CVC is a private equity firm
correct. and is a publicly traded company, that specialises in private equity.
Them being a public company doesn’t mean their entire portfolio is public
They’re presumably not directly involved in day to day management
sure, just like other top execs dont often decide when their individual workers break.
that doesnt mean the companies arnt involved in similar ways
(Huh, apparently they IPOed last year. I knew that didn’t sound familiar.)
if the designers are designing the game in a way that is likely going to lose the company as a whole money, the heads are still liable for that and will be forced to make certain decisions.
it might not matter in individual updates, but mtx specifically likely matters a huge amount.
True to an extent, yeah
yeah, it definitely depends a lot.
But there’s a layer of indirection there, big difference between being a public company and being a tiny fraction of a $200b private equity portfolio
but it does come back to the original statement. making the game better isnt necessarily the best choice regarding profit, and profit is almost always the biggest deciding factor.
yeah, potentially? im not an investor in private equity, so im not exactly sure how closely they attempt to take care of their money
I mean, Jagex isn’t going to start eating securities fraud lawsuits from CVC
well, those suits dont generally come from the parent company, they come from investors.
but they could. money is serious buisiness, unfortunately.
private equity is each individual part by nature
button doesn't work
'Open Marketplace' opens the interface for 1s and closes
open store on oddments won't open it either (I can get this one)
i think if an interface closes after a few seconds it's some failure to load
personally the button works for me for what it's worth
The thought of them having even cosmetic free worlds makes me mad as a female player who constantly sees the lack of effort put in on the female versions of a lot of sets of armour and gear in the game--sometimes it is literally just the armour designed for the male character's form that a female character is wearing like a little girl wearing her dad's XXL t-shirt--everything is so bulky, even if they did make a female version they never put thought into what that would look like, they just make it fit the female character form a little better and call it a day.
Females characters are going to look terrible in a very high percentage of gear that you'd be wearing for combat, skilling or other things. And everyone is going to look the same depending on where you are and what you're doing in the game.
that is what the players want, visual progression
they won't force you to play on one of the 4 servers if you don't want to wear ogre armor
also yes, you don't have to play on the cosmetic free worlds, that's always an option
I think a toggle on the cosmetic free worlds where you can choose what you want to disable and enable makes more sense than cosmetic free worlds altogether.
They've said that part of the point of these serves is feedback on the visual identity of the game
And they're more than happy to take feedback on visuals on gear that look off
Like 90% of it on female characters
can you give an example of what you think looks horrible on females but not on males?
As part of the "what we are trying to learn" section in the blog we mention that we would be looking to know player thoughts on the visual identity and style of the game, to me this would include finding out if there are some outfits/designs that are outliers and if they would be something we could change in the future.
- Mod Azanna
most sets of melee armour
Personally the big thing I'd want addressed is the off putting elite skilling outfit visuals
Shark Outfit, Divination Outfit, Magic Golem
etc
What specifically about it, because there is platelegs/plateskirts for Male and Female characters respectively
Thats mostly on old sets, not newer sets
and Melee armor is supposed to look bulky and tanky, it's not like Batwing armor where for the females they are going to have your boobs pop out for MW armor
boobwing
that's the other thing, that's kind of what i mean
i use the overrides i use because the alternative is one of those 2 options
bulky af
or boobs popping out
They've said that toggle is probably the likelier option as a permanent change
Worlds are probably not the long term thing
for all worlds though?
If there is a toggle i'm pretty sure its everywhere
which is unfortunate, I hope there is at least 1 or 2 worlds that are purely cosmetic free, and then a toggle for the rest
This^
The experiments will use worlds because its the fastest and most comprehensive way they can get feedback
everyone is going to look the same
and that is way more confusing than someone's particles
and terrible to look at
I personally disagree, if I have 3 people tanking a boss I want them to look like they are tanking, not in beachwear
they should just redesign the cosmetics that are causing people to be unable to play the game
or slowing down their game
I am not talking about bossing with 3 people i am talking about high traffic areas where people compain about pets and particles and animations like w84 portables, everyone in the same skiling outfits is going to look like a dumpster fire
places where you are grinding in the game, mindlessly, it's actually interesting to look at the different outfits people have
I don't want to wear a skirt though. I want to wear legs, and I want my avatar's knees to not bend backwards.
Theres plenty of people that would say everyoen in their cosmetics is what looks like a dumpster fire
ideally w84 wouldn't be as popular by the time all this stuff gets added to the game because they remove proteans, but that is wishful thinking
Toggle particles is what we need 🙏
Just proteans wouldn't change much
well you can wear the platelegs as a female character, I am just saying traditionally that's what the options were made for
i agree that some of the cosmetics are ridiculous and hurt gameplay
why not just rework those cosmetics and stop releasing new ones like that
I don't get why they don't have the option for female characters to have options for the legged version of outfits like the Easter one etc it's always dresses and skirts when not all players want it
reworking cosmetics won't get them money, it will only cost them money
Yeah I get that, what I'm saying is as a female player I don't want to be locked to gender stereotypes just to have an outfit that doesn't look broken.
My bigger issue is "female" version of cosmetics that you can't choose to use the other version, which means showing all the skin. Nty.
proteans/dummies, so on, It would still be the spot for training or whatever, but at least it wouldn't be swarming with protean users
Beach outfits is a classic. I don't wanna run around in bra and pants thank you very much, and the shorts are hotpants. Where's my mid-thigh shorts and a vest/tee option? It's what the men get.
that's why they've been ignoring Loyalty Shop for YEARS now, because it's a place they won't make money off if they add stuff to it
Portables and all AoE xp buffs would all have to go for people to not all swarm to the same world
Yes, this. The overrides I use are the ones that fit my character's body but don't show max boob and aren't bulky and oversized
Or look at Bandos gear on female avatars - that shit won't protect you from ANYTHING it's basically a thong and bra!
For them it's more profitable to add stuff to either TH, SGS or Marketplace
That is just how games are now in days, you play as a female you're going to be "skimpy" and wear the least amount of clothing because that's what people generally want to look at
Except as a female I don't want to, and the game should represent me too.
I'm not saying get rid of the bra & pants so boys can get their rocks off to pixel avatars.
If they rework cosmetics they should start with robe bottoms, the stretching is so damn ugly when running
I'm saying give the choice.
They clearly have a team of all-male game designers making the female cosmetics
That is a fair, however that is a long road of constant pushback on multiple companies because they know sex sells
Sex stopped selling a long time ago in the way that it used to
Literally. I struggle so much with cosmetics, I want my character to look like how I would want to look but my trouser choices are "broken knees", "underwear" or "space marine".
Idk what version of RS you play, but this is not a game based on sex or sex appeal...
I couldn't agree with this more
I mean what you think of Zammy is your personal view but...
So i take a lot of time picking my overrides and i bought keepsake keys and used them on some really random things sometimes to achieve it
It's a industry norm, I am not talking specifically about RS, but yes even RS falls under that norm where the Females look slimmer/less clothing, so on
I don't think it's so much an industry norm in 2024
tbh, Melee armor is probably your best bet in having both the male and female versions look identical
You wish there wasn't. But there definetly is
It 100% is
Sex sells is like a late 90s-00s thing, Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson and Paris Hilton and Maxim Magazine, everyone wanted to look like a playboy bunny, low rise jeans and bra tops and thong songs. It's not like that anymore. And sex sells in a video game is ridiculous. Do you think any males are looking at female RS3 characters and drooling over their pixel cleavage and that's the reason they play?
Yes they are
You may not like it but theres atleast 1 person that plays for that
idk what fantasy you live in where they don't, but if you make a female character, level it up a tiny amount, put on the beach bikini and walk around the g,e
you're gonna get someone to trade you something random, or follow you and try talk to you
Yeah but that is just because they think you're a girl and you might talk to them
because you're wearing a female outfit
Lean back
you think they think that the person playing looks like that character in the bikini irl and that's why they are trading them stuff?
all the girls wearing beachwear outfits all look like that?
❌ 🍝 code
✅ 🍝 legs
It falls under the sex sells catagory
I think they are hoping you're a real girl and might talk to them
and wearing those cosmetics indicate there's a chance you're female
Obviously
Nobody said players actually think that the person behind the character looks exactly the same
I don't think they are turned on by the pixels of the boob cleavage on the RS outfits
and that is why they are trading you things
companies still thinking sex sells for females in video games need to get with the times, if they made the outfits slightly more conservative those same players trading bikini girls would be trading girls wearing form fitting high cut tops and pants
i am not saying don't have any "sexy" outfits. Make some that aren't
I can personally guarantee you that there is at least 1 person out there getting turned on by the pixels of the boob cleavage on rs outfits, but besides that, they are trading you because sex sells, if it was a guy walking around in the beach outfit they would not have traded that account, but if it's a female character it's like 70% more likely, that's why people make alts and stand at the g,e all day. It's literally a way to make profit
yeah but they are probably chatting them up too
or saying stuff on public to give that impression
i believe you there are some people probably who are turned on by RS cosmetic boobs. But that percentage is like a decimal of 1%
so it's not selling the game for RS/Jagex
It has been proven multiple times that it does, any game with a traditionally "ugly" female character does poorly compared to a female character that is traditionally "beautiful" by norms and standards
What would make them money would be taking input from actual females on the types of cosmetic we want and would probably pay for, def would play the game to earn
i am not saying to make the characters ugly
I am actually against the no overrides thing bc all the gear i use will look like i am wearing men's armour half the time
I just also think that for the types of cosmetics that are on events and stuff
so you don't want to wear mens armor but you don't want to look like the traditional female as well?..
they could offer something between bikini tops and giant bulk
Like this in my opinion is fine, the Female is clearly a Female body type
i am not saying i don't want to look female i am saying can we have some outfits without boobs hanging out, low cut shirts and half shirts
i am actually fine with skirts
Armour needs to look like it wouldn't be able to protect you on female characters.
It's "bulky" because that's just realistic
oh yes of course my bad, I forgot Females went out there in no armor to fight
some tops that don't make you look like you're at MTV Spring Break in the 90s, or like you're a lady of the night from GOT, or some kind of combination spacesuit/ but also into S+M, that would be nice
I am talking about other cosmetics now, not just the armour
there is armour that looks better than others
I'm just not sure why any of that would make you agaisnt cosmetic free worlds. You clearly like cosmetics so you just don't go onto the cosmetic free worlds.
Or do you want to force peopel who don't like them to look at them aswell?
I am not against cosmetic free worlds
Let me rephrase it then. I don't understand why they would make you mad
I just feel like this is going to lead to them not releasing new cosmetics as much, and maybe getting some stuff that females want for their characters.
Wouldn't a toggle end up being basically the same end result
cosmetic free worlds is going to look stupid at certain places where everyone is wearing the same outfit
People that don't like looking at cosmetics either toggle them off or play the cosmetic free world
End data is still like 2000 ppl not looking at cosmetics or whatever
that's my complaint about doing cosmetic free worlds and why i think there should be toggles, and a bunch of different toggles
Tbh I had no issue with same outfits back in the day, or when i've played OSRS
So I feel like its a bit of a value thing
Well to be completely honest with you, I hope Jagex as a whole doesn't focus on cosmetics purely for Females, and if they tone down cosmetics and focus more on the design of actual armor that is being put into the game, that is a good thing
But the people playing those worlds want that
As in, I prefer aesthetic consistency and what you look like is what you wear
over uniqueness and self-expression
Worlds will look the exact same for people that just have cosmetics toggled off aswell
^
no one is asking them to focus only on female cosmetics but it would be nice to be considered
just a little
I do understand this is how you feel about it, but also there are people that want everyone to be wearing the same if not identical gear while bossing or skilling, not everyone needs to be unique
I understand that completely as well
and I am ok with that and having those worlds
So you are in support of this test then
i never said I wasn't supporting the test
It just sounds like it since you said "The thought of them having even cosmetic free worlds makes me mad as a female player who constantly sees the lack of effort put in on the female versions of a lot of sets of armour and gear in the game-"
It's not the worlds that make you mad. It's just how things look
it just makes me nervous that they are considering to add less cosmetics into the game overall.
If they swap to the MTX of buying cosmetics, I very much doubt they will stop supporting resources into making cosmetics
I think on the other hand, it may lead to them spending more time on getting aesthetic right on gear, since they can't fall back on cosmetics as a crutch
^^^^^
sounds like an impossible task. they werent going to remove all cometics afaik, they would be inserted into the game, and still be obtainable. you cant exactly take these things back now, we have them
and specific worlds being a choice wouldnt really change their main method unless almost everyone uses them (which i doubt)
Sorry what do you mean with "specific worlds beign a choice wouldn't really change their main method" ?
I don't understand what that main method is
well, they arnt going to remove cosmetics from the game
but yeah, my wording could use some work
specific worlds being a choice isnt going to change the overall stance on cosmetics
it will just be an added option, but its likely good data.
yeha
I wouldn't be surprised if removing cosmetics entirely would just mean the end for rs3
oh, definitely not
well, people would be pissed and would be a huge loss in interest
But as far as we know that's also not even being considered ( hopefully) but having an option for people like me who play on potatos to not see them would be great
^ or them adressing all the problematic cosmetics. Which is any cosmetic with a particle
yeah, thats mostly what im looking forward to
show all, show friends, show mine only cosmetic toggle would be amazing
Seeing a few players is fine. But the community skilling places just get hurt by particales and stuff in general. Even playing on the lowest graphics doesn't fix that
yeah, look at world 79 incan sometimes.
And realistically just removing particles from cosmetics also won't fix the bigger issues with that
the place doesnt load
w84 doing it's best to not load as many players and having the default ghostly forms still makes it a hell to be
Likely you've gotten this fixed as it was 9 hours ago, but if you're in an interaction in Runescape, such as archaeology, and you try to open the marketplace it will close instantly because of your action in Runescape. I had the same issue, stopped what I was doing and let my character stand idle, and it opened just fine.
If Treasure Hunter is removed all together, what would the membership benefit be instead of daily keys? Would we get bonus loyalty points for every day/week streaked by logging in? Could Auras take the place of daily membership log in?
I dont think they announced anything yet as a LOT of the overall process depends on feedback and usage of each experiment at least
To at least avoid a false-hope/false-promise situation
The membership benefit is playing the game, right? You dont need daily keys
I dont want any free daily shit given out. Thats exactly the sort of stuff that makes the game worse.
from a company perspective, you need to have an incentive to keep players coming back every day. Right now it is keys, if keys go away, it will be something else. Regardless of if you want it or not, it makes business sense.
I was just inquiring into ideas as to what that might be
You dont need to have an incentive for people to log in.
Other than making a good game
As a player, its a horrible addition. Dont feel like logging in? Dont. As a company, its scummy, inflating numbers and wasted development. All it is, is desperately trying to keep a metric
Look at osrs. More popular game. No log in incentives.
That's not how business works. If a grocery store sells good product, why run ads and sales? It's to incentivize people to come into the store.
If nobody logged in to break the 'addiction' the game would die.
not a good comparison.
daily incentives are not particularly close to advertisements or sales.
they can, and do do both of those things already.
if you're worried that the game is kept afoat only because people are addicted, the game should die in that case, as should any game that cant keep players due to not being good enough
but fact is, there is a good game here, and many people log in to play that. id argue that very few people play because of daily incentives. sure, they might log in and leave immediately, occasionally, but thats not something that helps anyone.
the game is literally dying....... you can google the active daily users and see its trending down since the start of year. all the gains made on rs3 have been lost and are approaching 2019s all time low. they have to find a way to revive the game, which they are doing now, theres a reason they rushed the mtx update out when they did. im guessing the mtx update was always being held for this moment to bring some life back to the game. nerfs, mtx changes and a new boss all at once, instead being spaced out over time, feels like a last ditch attempt to make some changes to save the game.
and i would argue that none of that has anything to do with trying to force people to log in daily. in fact, id argue that forcing people to log in mostly goes against that.
its making a worse game.
instead, they should be putting any of that time and effort into improving the game, instead of trying scummy attempts to inflate numbers.
someone who is staying due to addiction doing daily log-ins is not playing the game. the only 'positive' contribution they have is paid membership.
look at ffxiv. the lead developer actually told people to take breaks if they needed to, and that he'll be making amazing content to bring those people back when it was ready. no daily incentives, no real dailies, no non cosmetic mtx. and its still generally the most popular mmo on the market. why? because the game is really really good. the most important thing for player retainment is consistant, good content.
rs3 is not a popular mmo, osrs is the a giant. theres reasons osrs is thriving and hit 200k active players on at 1 time, while rs3 struggles to keep 10k people active.
and guess what! osrs doesnt have daily incentives!
i actually.. dont think they do.
they need to stop with the mtx bs, absolutely.
they need to do a few things like osrs, sure.
but really, what the game needs mostly is solid content
it has some decent coming in for sure, but it needs either more often, or chunkier content updates.
tbh mod north needs to put rs3 on his back and lead the way as he carries it to success. the current path isnt looking bright. the biggest thing they need to be working on is; do our players find proper value for their time that they invest into the game? once that is addressed, i think the game will recover a lot faster.
find proper value for their time that they invest into the game
honestly, this is somewhat the problem.
game time shouldnt be seen as an investment
it should be seen as, is this going to be enjoyable/fun?
yea, thats what i mean basically.
yeah.
like am i having fun? does it feel like im doing anything productive?
totally agree. theres a lot of content made specifically to drag stuff out
should have worded that better
when really, content should be looked at as, how much is this actually adding?
^^^ yes
like, i know theres a bit more, but 110 crafting specifically was.. lets add a few things, a pseudo BiS weapon and thats basically that.
all up, you have a few minutes of content there.
mostly reading the list.
instead of, oh, this could keep people occupied for 500 hours getting the thing to level 110, and heres some content to do that
not saying 110s should exist, but they should be offering something to the game.
or at least, not part of the plan to keep people coming back.
it might even be really useful to start comparing directly to wow/ffxiv updates and frequency, because i bet you rs3 AND osrs are WAY below that bar, despite having a much more simple game to add content to
tbh they are doing very good at osrs, so its hard to believe rs3 is failing this bad.
well, i just came back from osrs after a 3 year break.
tbh, its not a lot better there.
and is rs3 actually doing bad? from what i saw a while ago, membership was actually overtaking mtx in revenue, which was the reason for the dev mindset changes.
yellow line is rs3, blue is osrs. right after they said membs went up, daily users started trending down.
thats 7 years of data
yeah, so VERY stable.
and yeah, it is trending down, which is mostly what mmos would be doing if they arnt doing something amazing.
38k max and 19k current lol
you can google rs3 active player count, and youll be able to find it 😄
im not sure they will allow me to post the link here
"Every five minutes, a perl script contacts the front page of Runescape and scrapes the displayed number of online players. This is the total number of players in both versions of the game.
A second request scrapes the number of online OSRS players. The difference between the OSRS and total players is the number of EOC players
The data is stored in a database for later retrieval and analysis."
even with a +/- 10% error, it still paints a bad picture about the growth of the game.
anyways yea, hopefully they figure something out. would be nice to see rs3 survive 20 more years.
yeah, i agree with you there, it fits the discussion
even if not 100% accurate.
but yeah, going back to what i meant originally, its weird when people ask companies to do 'x thing' thats mostly making the game worse to inflate numbers, when if that idea is popular all it really leads to is them doing that AND more, when the focus should be on making quality content for us to enjoy, and hopefully long term.
If there are toggles it should be enough of them.
I mean not just ‘toggle off’ but
Toggle friends, clan, all
And toggle pets, outfits, titles, animations.
I personally would toggle cosmetic others off except mine and clan. And keep titles, animations etc
Some option when entering a boss or when fighting cosmetics turn off
This is concurrent btw not max players.
Theres about 250k players a month on rs3 atm
very important that yea
though, do note, 250k is also all time low
Only a few years ago we were more around 350k (pre-Hero Pass)
2021 even had a month with over 500k
250k members but only 10% play daily. Yikes
thats not how that works
There's a slight difference between the two statistics
The 250k monthly players is the equivalent to Monthly Active Users: taken from the hiscores, its the rough number of accounts that have logged on in the past month and gained 1k exp.
The 19k-22k number is the average number of concurrent users: the number of accounts logged on at the same time, grabbed every few minutes, and averaged out over a day. Some accounts will log on or log out throughout the day and peak times will have more players.
both those numbers need to rise, concurent and total members, if this game is to survive another 20 years 😦
With 2 hours left to go until this weeks weekly hiscore has run for 1 day, 88.3k people have gained 1k xp and lobbied once afterwards
(since you aren't updated on hiscores until you lobby)
So roughly 100k today is a fair guess, accounting for next 2 hours and people who haven't lobbied yet
dang i kind of expected more with the beach event running. im all for more people playing, im tired of seeing empty worlds.
beach event? beach doesn't even count as an event these days
boring annual obligation
Honestly events barely change the dial on hiscores
do you guys think cosmetic free worlds will be used or ignored?
why not just let us toggle it on any world. i dont need to see your wings or crazy looking outfit. '
I know I'm going to play on those during experiment
they will be used obviously, the reason there is no toggle is because that takes dev time and the point of the experiments is that they dont
i pvm in 97 so seeing them pick it for a world was kinda crazy lol
it almost feels like every event is just a obligation at this point, they are never exciting, it's literally the same thing over and over again, you do a like 5 minute quest then AFK grind skills for the rest of the 2 weeks or however long they are, it's the same thing just with a different slap of paint on it. The last time I have actually been excited for an event was probably like 2013 or 2014
-# that's the most edits i've seen on a single message (21)
I personally dont think seasonal events should matter. We definitely proved that a few years ago with them attempting to make them big, player counts tanked when it was the main content coming in.
Its not exciting to have a temporary event come in and either give accelerated exp or some short lame quest thats very out of world and forced. Theres an argument to be made that they could be done better, but that effort is much better invested into non seasonal content. Mostly, the game just needs way more of that, rather than once/twice a year getting a dungeon and a boss.
Or at least have better rewards, like when was the last time we got something as cool as the 2009 christmas outfit
obviously not the christmas outfit so it still stays unique and OG, but I often wear it from time to time
i miss the small events that had some guaranteed cool stuff like we had back in the day
The whole rng part of the cool event stuff these days has ruined all the fun
yeah, RNG for a black party hat just is not it, when realistically someone has a less than 1% chance of getting it when they grinded each day
give me actual thought out rewards
small events like holiday, or also random events (which I want back) etc?
Was mainly thinking the holiday ones but random events were also fun distractions
Not really MTX related but will keep it short. Would love to see it return and more events + toggle option if you want it or not, also lock costumes etc behind it again.
I am praying to Guthix that Ring of Trees counts as a cosmetic for the purpose of these servers.
unlikely, unless it only works in its original item form
is there any actual problem with the item?
With the item, no. With the people using it to disrupt others, yes.
how can it be used to disrupt?
Have many players transform into trees. Now you can barely see on the map, especially in tight areas such as Fort.
oh, interesting. very niche, but you'd imagine behavior on that level would be bannable
Very niche but such behaviour happens alot in w84 at the fort
It'll probably end up like the Fires if it gets annoying, where you can no longer do it at the fort
Fires were hardly the most annoying thing happening
The prism/attack animation spam by someone with invention dummies is way worse
also as a side note, hair clips through the MW hat
third most populated world now behind div and w84
genuinely the best wars retreat has looked in years
^
Can't wait to be able to log in on cosmetic free worlds
even in dialog boxes
This is primarily why many hats used to force change hairstyles unless it was open-top like phats.
Its usually unavoidable to stop all forms of clipping without making artificial spacing
yeh, was just giving feedback, it doesn't bother me so
Also to this, there are already some goobers at Wars with all the annoying stuff screaming about "This is what you asked for", some people genuinely don't have lives
Tbh it's easier to ignore trolls (from both sides of the coin), and focus on the feedback aspects when it's ready. As there's going to be mixed opinions, but jagex wants individual responses where possible
How are people able to have boss pets out? I cant seem to select my gladys or supreme pet because the tab is greyed out 😦
only seen one troll so far, very easy to ignore, and they're having to waste their own time instead of no effort eyesore
Yeah I am ignoring them and for the most part it seems like everyone else is too
seeing people actually talk about their gear though, like what it meant to them to get it, almost brings a tear to my eye tbh
Ah damn I love cosmetic free worlds! I just wish I could use the skills of legendary pet, but it would just not be visible for people around me.
i just wish i still had lorehound
😄
or that the arch effect from lorehound was available if it was out or not
^ lorehound + boss pet overrides and such should still be available. Every giant kalg is as annoying as the people complaining in the first place
I don't think it's that annoying tbh, just shows me people really like kalg
I meant one of the things people complained about was giant pets like the fire drake. Kalgs and mammoths are just as obnoxious.
I would be fine with boss pets because that's still an achievemnt, but legendary pets are just MTX items
lorehound sure why not
Lorehound is also an achievement
Yea boss pets/achievement pets like clue pets will be missed this week
And has tangible benefits when active
Agree that legendary pets are obnoxious even though they also offer some benefit
My point is mostly this. Cosmetic free PvM is fine, although 252 is a pretty active PvM world (low pop overall is preferable for this because reduced lag) and one of the things that makes pet overrides nice is that when you're doing group content a giant familar isn't blocking your view (more than conjures already do)
Like if we could have regular pets what we earned ingame and they could use legendary pet skills if you own legendary pet?
They do have an option you can turn on that you don't click pets and you click through them, but yeah I get your point on them being big and obstructing bosses/damage spots on the floor
My main point here is that there are a couple pets currently disabled with tangible benefits on cosmetic free world that will discourage the use of cosmetic free worlds if you're doing content that calls for it (mainly lorehound if you're doing anything lore related)
Lorehound/bossing pets would be as far as I would like to see it go, I don't think legendary pets should be allowed
Clue pets 😂
I'm on 252
do clue pets do something for you? I don't do clues
can you use pets that come as an item, like cats?
They display number of clue completed, like boss pets with kills
Can you summon lorehound with may?
Lorehound is my quick summon as well if I right click on the summoning tab and I get this
One second I'll check May
I would imagine you could, or quests would be screwed
I will take a look in like ten min when I hit laptop
Just to see
only way to summon lorehound is via the itnerface, so safe to say it's not possible
Balls
Helena the Hellcat can be dropped/summoned
GG lorehound, you will be missed
Nice, thank you!
Good quests safe 😂😂
Darn I gotta see if she need some milk for the quest
Milk
(don't judge me about to go get my div daily challenge lmao)
[[mouse toy]] [[toy mouse]] too for memes

Looks like hiding cogs is also disabled on augmented items
Not that it matters much, I always just preferred seeing the cog-free variant
But yeah, i would set expectations for about anything in the customization wardrobe only functionality to be disabled.
So if the pet can only be summoned via the customization ui, it's unavailable.
So with functionality you lose legendary pets, cheeky monkey, snack yak, and lorehound effects.
As well as using smaller pets over familiars, so larger familiars will be visible as-is.
Good to note this is just a way to trial the changes in a manor It's not affecting the roadmap dev-wise, so if it were to become a toggle this will have a different approach and not affect as many things like this one does on a broader scope.
The cogs are still hidden for me?
Hiding cogs toggle is effectively a pseudo-override so it may have been affected when the rest was disabled
It's checked and still showing up on everything
Theoretically it should have affected the legacy cape toggle option too.
But the hide cogs option specifically interacts with the customization ui
It's there for my necro gear, but not my MW, odd
Also had to swap worlds to change my hairstyle since what I had doesn't work with cosmetic free
oh sorry I forgot to reply, yes 99 capes are swapped to the new style
which is meh, but i'll take it
I'm unable to login atm due to work, do stuff like [[chic scarf]] or elite outfits like woodcutting/div/fishing change colours still? Iirc those are similar
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Chic_scarf
This is just for curiosity sake
yes you can
at least with camo, which I would assume goes for every skilling outfit
oh and yes scarf works too
Okay good, that at least tells me it's a different system handling it at least. Thanks!
(It gives me a broader scope for any bug reports to check similar systems)
Not having actual functional pets like legendary pets or the carpets from menaphos and others that actually do something is slightly annoying for these worlds 😦
I would like to combine my master completionist cape (t) with my igneous kal-Zuk, similar to the infernal max cape in OSRS
otherwise a huge fan of cosmetic-free worlds so far
Pinning the worlds is a bit problematic on mobile
Those two rows at the bottom are the only part that scrolls
I would hope that there will be a way to show Skill Pets on these worlds, as they are earned drops/followers? Maybe not as summons overrides, but if you want to have a skill pet following you, I don't see the issue there.
the worlds kind of generically disable pets from the interface purely to not have to take extra time into them, to look at the experiments goal as a general view. it's not going to be how these thigns are handled, but was the better one-size-fits-all method without making it use dev-time from devs in the roadmap sides of things.
otherwise they'll have to cater a whitelist, which would more or less be subject to player preferences
so atm for the focus of the experiment, it's just a "no" for now
Fair enough, thank you for the clarification!
the experiment tosses a wide net
Would be nice if we could still use overhead emotes in the new worlds 🙏
please god no
You forgot to switch off the previous experiment. It was supposed to expire today but we still can’t access cosmetic/mtx stores
it ends tonight iirc
I see. Odd to have an entire day of overlap when one update could have seen to both things, but I’m sure they’ve got their reasons. Either way they need to give us regional timetables for this. That means the experiment ends on 29th for 2/3 of the player base
i don't think it is odd. it was just how they wanted the experiments to line up. they wanted x amount of days for each experiment and they are set to be back to back to back
well, it ending at 23:59 is still the 28th
they also usually start new TH promos 1 to 3 days after the game update instead of with it
and doing a little more than a week ensures at least a proper full week despite any issues etc
in this case i think the schedule is fairly clear it's just inclusive yeah
Schedule would be clearer if they said on the blog post they were finishing it later in the day than that days update. I know now they mean 7.9 days rather than 7, so won’t be confused by it again. Thanks for the info 🙂
seems like exactly 7 to me, based on the schedule they posted
the date range is all 7 days that TH is fully disabled for
Anyone know if cosmetic-free worlds affect retro-style overrides when the player has the equivalent armor equipped?
since those tend to override the same as cogwheel-toggles, i would assume it would be affected
as your overrides on the worlds should be working as-if unset, so it wont see the retro sets being active
As long as they allow choice the game will grow.
w139 just broke 1k concurrent 🥳
Clearly alot of people like the idea of no Cosmetic overrides especially those ridiculous Wings taking up 50% of Screenspace....
However why are still so many people with Cosmetics enabled all around on these new servers?? Is this a bug or some workaround cause I can't even open the Customization screen
Players would be using physical items instead of overrides, as the servers not restricting them to items which have stats from base armour sets
Are they using physical items instead? I've not seen any cosmetics so far.
Come GE almost everyone has cosmetics enabled like what's the point of this also saw a guy be dressed as a full Shark not even Humans lol...
oh i think examine is a bit wonky
Or it's privacy mode being on
So it says it's cosmetics but they're really jsut wearing it idk
they're actually wearing what you see
Cosmetic free worlds with that window can be wonky
I have a Theory what if they were on this server way before the cosmetics got turned off so they still have them?
essentially
the examine will show, if you hover over slots what someones override would be in txt
but it doesn't matter since what you see physically is what they're actually wearing
Full shark outfit isn’t a cosmetic. It’s the fishing outfit from invention.
Likely see everyone fishing in the same shark outfit
Shark outfit is sadly not cosmetic but actual items
WHich is why one of the most popular feedback is
"elite skilling outfits need a full graphical rework to fit in with game aesthetics"
the f2p cosmetic free world is right now the most populated f2p world
Damn right they do need rework, many things do and they will stick out like a sore thumb once cosmetics are disabled
They have explicitly stated they want feedback on this!
And its a good way to see what actual items look off
A Shark Humanoid wasn't so out of place when everyone had flying wings they might aswell have turned players into Birds so no need to teleport around the map 🦆 🪽
the meme
immediate suggestion. allow boss pet overrides. the reg summoning actually makes this worse than cosmetic filled worlds
this is horrible on the eyes in all instances.
I dont think thats very appropriate for feedback.
Almost a quarter of the online f2p players is on the cosmetic free world right now
Theres just a massive problem with normal familiars being huge
Which has always been the feedback for them and these cosmetic free worlds just make it more known again
So far, right now, I'm feeling a little... I guess indifferent? I need to keep playing, but hanging out at the Grand Exchange or wherever else, I'm not sure it feels all that different?
I dunno, what are your takes so far?
I think its fine for people who like the idea of it or what they saw. I just would like summons to be adjusted size wise. that or make boss pets specifically overrideable. I cant think of anyone who thinks "oh boi, a boss pet, I hate this game and its cosmetics" because of it.
or just hide other peoples' familiars
I do like the lack of pets, I will say that
I don't understand why followers take priority over pleyers?
But I always found it annoying to go to a highly populated area and just see like... pet spam
this is the fault of jagex taking players away from the grand exchange
having them congregate in areas without a no-familiar zone
The random, distracting chittering, flapping, moaning, whining, scratching, "Ho ho ho ho ho"ing in the middle of August sounds?
Glad to actually see other players again
this wasn't a problem back when the grand exchange was the only hub
I will say that
not a single AUS world cosmetic free, horrible experience testing this from the southeast asia region...
cant lie, ive never had this problem.
mute gaming noises
even better solution it will fix the problem even more, just logout and never play the game!!
can we just not have pointless statements?
Likewise buddy, bro was literally just saying it was nice not having all the useless sound effects and here you are telling someone to just mute the game when they probably enjoy playing with audio.. so pointless
yeah the difference is that im stating idk the issue due to not having game sounds. you know what im not doing. telling someone to quit playing rs
get outta here
the overexaggeration flew right over your head 🙂
maybe you should reread your statement and actually consider why I went the direction I did.
your statement absolutely isnt pro staying on rs.
turn your game sounds on!
no
yeah I never told him to mute his game. like are you being obtuse on purpose
^
yeah you should probably learn how internet discussions go a bit better
you've lost the plot buddy and my joke went right over your head calm down
thats not in anyway contextually saying that he should mute it
im sayin that i mute my game. and use a mild internet meme.
like dude. stop being antagonistic for the sake of it
so someone's problem is irrelevant because you mute your game? wow crazy
yueah again not what I said
Yall
^
Let’s drop it please
thank you saint
thank you so much saint!!
They also started the experiment halfway through the day, (7pm my time) so, it would make sense it also ended at the same time mid day
So excited for cosmetic free worlds!!! thanks @tacit tulip
Can we get the 'cosmetic-free' worlds UNPINNED on mobile? They are really in the way on the world hop screen.
If they add even one more pinned world I'll have to filter worlds (remove f2p or p2p), remove a world from my favorites, or go to the lobby to choose a non-favorite world to hop to.
My screenshot and another player's screenshot (linked) showing how the world hop screen looks on mobile with the 4 EXTRA pinned worlds:
#rs-questions message
Just a short suggestion for this: I realise they won't implement this, but how about a toggle button: "Cosmetics" Enabled/disabled with a checkbox - I think this would be an amazing addition
The only reason they're utikizing worlds atm is because they didn't want to take development time away from the roadmap and did it in a method the visual aspects would be about the same, but in a more blanket manor it's not taking tech away from say the engine teams working on leagues for example.
Its on the scope of being one of the potential solutions, they just wanted feedback how players felt if they were to not see cosmetics and various views and opinions on the matter.
So i would take some of the awkward restrictions the world-restrictions have with some salt as those would not be final or really a considered method.
Eg you'll more than likely be able to use pets and such, its just for now disabled to prevent some of the systems in the customization interface from being used
Gotcha 🙂
Its weird but the way they did it is just a blanket to simulate what it could do, with side effects because its not directly targeting things specifically just to make it work
So far a big fan
My initial reaction was slightly negative because i had just started on my smithing grind, but once i realized that luminite injectors were super cheap i didnt have to bother with w70
The shark outfit is pretty bad but the rest of them seem pretty on theme for runescape
eh, I don't like divination, runecrafting, mining, woodcutting...
honestly pretty much all of them save arch
I also think second and third best is construction and farming
Definitive proof that the No Customization servers are bugged and not working here
What's the point when people can exploit some mechanic and bring in bought cosmetics to ruin the entire atmosphere?
Well Experiment failed since day 1, bunch of people can bypass it
It isn’t a failure. It is the first time jagex is doing this so there are going to be things that fall through the cracks
They’ll get addressed and it will be made better
for one, its not a cosmetic override
its a physical item
theres a lot of items that are both overrides and physical items that are lesser known
(the override he actually has for the main worlds is lava legs. those that you see rn are ice legs)
Its not bugged, they're wearing items from Diango (those items suck and I wish they weren't so obnoxious)
There could be an argument to disable those types of items, but for the test its fine, let the trolls be trolls
imo, a real items shouldnt be disabled due to it not being a cosmetic. particle effects need addressed long before real items do otherwise the issues arent really being addressed.
Its cosmetic free and this is a good showing that rs3 needs to rework a LOT of old outfits or we will see ugly looks for a long time. cosmetic free doesnt mean good looking at all. Cosmetic worlds are better in this aspect by a large margin and also suffer the same issues cosmetic free does.
tldr: fix particles, adjust summons sizes (alternatively make boss pets specifically the only override available), rework excessively ugly outfits of old.
including the regular gear from long ago
Problem is some of these items don't even come from diango
I don’t think anyone has bypassed anything. All the items have a physical item that you can get
an aura and physical items
This would work in cosmetic free worlds
I can agree that aura looks are less than good visually.
he has mostly diango and an invention item plus cape from skilling
aura not included
All you need is to replace it with some elite Skilling outfits
And you have just as much particles
oh yeah its monstrous but its... cosmetic free. the issue is really the particles, effects etc.
(im a big particle hater besides like the comp cape)
I think better solution is ability to toggle particle effects, hide people's pets, and hide a specific player but might be too difficult to implement
Turn the hidden player into a default ghostly shadow
agree except for hiding players. theres a lot of issues that come from that as an idea.
engine wise and on a mmo basis
the only exception ill take is an issue like w84 where the amount should be visibly reduced as a forced measure
It is something that technically does automatically on some devices but yeah I don't disagree it would be complicated
before that, that whole system should be fixed and allow people to talk to players they can't see
Osrs does it, and its perfectly fine.
Well, not officially, but there are no issues from the runite plugin. At worst, you turn it back on when you need to see others.
rs3 spagheti code is by far worse than osrs's
also the fact we need a 3rd party plugin in a game makes it seem worthless in my eyes. for visuals etc
(I hate alt 1 as well as a concept)
I want a jagex update not someone modding my gameplay
Its not like you know how possible it is, though. Devs may use it as an excuse, buts its very likely possible. 3rd party did it.
Its not the same, but it can be done and there werent any issues.
Which that proves.
so anyways since we derailed via non legitimate inputs for rs3 to make something work. im bowing out of this clear debate starter.
The fact that a plugin does that shows its likely not even hard, as they arnt really allowed to manipulate much.
Its only derailed because you denied that its proof of concept.
After playing for a while on cosmetic free worlds
- A metric fuckton of real gear need touch-ups or overhaul
- I feel a toggle system would be the best of both worlds, as I personally did not like playing with customisations off but after interacting with people I can see the appeal of it, it also prevents the issue of splitting up the playerbase
- I feel very specific overrides like the completionist cape and its variants should be allowed to be overridable, even if it's only the default colours
Lots of different comments on the cosmetic experiment
I feel like transmogging yourself into a respective elemental is pretty appropriate for a fantasy game. the only real one i have an issue with is the shark outfits
Seems to please ‘everyone’, de should get toggle options for specific things like ‘wings’
And ring of trees for many
The sentinel outfit?
I would personally keep the ring and not remove it, but adjust the amount of space needed or places. Like not in ge, banks
I was just adding my thing, not really about sentinel outfit 🙂
I agree that it fits the world here
I dislike most of the elite skilling outfits
What about the shark outfits?
Construction and archaeology are amazing
Appearance?
Shark is nice but I can see that fisherman fits better
With the notable exception of exactly the shark outfit, all the elite skilling outfits fit pretty well
They should share bonusses/effects
So I can wear fisherman with shark outfit bonusses
Mining one is a bit weird
Imo
If I think of an elite miner I don't think a walking rock person
I don't mind them existing but give customisablity like osrs how u can swap angler outfits or WC outfit for forester or gold colour prospector
I like it but at the same time a bit too much
Yeah
Youre making yourself a rock elemental. that fits the fantasy on its face, and as far as it looks its not too derpy
Compared to the normal outfits
Honestly between the golden mining outfit and the gemstone golem outfit i much prefer the rock golem
Was thinking more about base prospector
themining outfit looks like a french mercenary
thats osrs exclusive
One think I can add is for example the shark outfit has a tiger one but there are no tiger sharks in-game.
I love if things are added to the game that can be found/seen somewhere. Not that it is a must
Doesn't mean they can't take inspiration
Elite archaeology is an insanely good outfit
Agree in that
99 master should wear the normal outfit and 120 master the master one imo
Either let us use elite effects on the normal outfits or give earnable options to change the current elite outfits
I prefer the medieval aesthetic part of medieval fantasy games
I want grounded looks for player character not out of the world transformations
The tiger shark is a type of fish which heals up to 2,375 life points and can heal to 10% above maximum life points. It can be obtained by cooking a raw tiger shark with level 95 Cooking, granting 230 experience. The raw tiger shark can be obtained by playing Fishing Trawler with level 95 Fishing.
A player can only get one tiger shark per trip...
I think fantastical aesthetics fit in medieval fantasy
If you go too fantastical you lose out on the medieval aesthetic
I think fantastical is fine, in small doses
late game bosses, godly encounters
They cease being fantastical if common place
endgame skilling equipment fits the bill in my book
my main complaint was that they started off as th prizes
For me it depends on the game tbh
Ffxiv has many modern day glams and hi tech stuff due to highly technological civilizations existing in the past and present of the world and a mainline-ish ff game without hard or soft SciFi isn't a ff game
I would like more stylised medieval cosmetics and less of things like the summer swimsuit or modern day glam because it doesn't really gel well with the world of runescape
Clair obscur expedition 33 has swimsuits too but they're like early to mid 1900s swimsuits which fit with the world
oh wow, my bad.. thx for replying
this so much
although I think E33 differs quite a bit aesthetically, I'm not personally going to be a stickler and object to things that look in place even if somewhat anachronistic and very much wouldn't mind seeing its clothing and art style somewhat reflected
beach shorts it looks like someone got from Primark for a tenner are not appropriate though
yeah the problem with the whole "fantasy transmogs fit a fantasy world" thing is it's too general
in runescape, not so much, mainly because literally nothing actually in the game looks like these outfits
you are transmogging into "elementals" that don't exist
beyond that, there is no in-game acknowledgement that sets any of that up
there is no precedent of any sort
they scream "cash outfit" both in visual and narrative design
I'm still on the fence about this one. I don't know that cosmetics in general are part of the problem
I think it's a great idea to have cosmetic free worlds, and I hope we do get to see these become an actual thing?
But I have a lot of thoughts that I'm inevitably going to express poorly
On the whole, I recognize that in many respects some form of MTX has become somewhat necessary for games like RuneScape to survive. With that in mind, I MUCH MUCH MUCH prefer direct purchase of cosmetic outfits over having the ability to purchase gameplay advantages
That said, I don't consider cosmetic outfits something we just have to settle for either
I don't think that cosmetics or the idea of overrides are inherently bad, especially in the case of something like keepsakes
If it helps, consider each of the experiments as separate entities not as a broad "this is what we want to do for mtx entirely".
The cosmetic free worlds more or less just simulate the end results of the cosmetic toggle visually, ignoring functional changes from the way they had to do it currently.
So in this case, think of how summoning familiars and default armour look and feels could be potentially brought up to scale, do players cosmetics being off change much visually for you, does the armours need consistency if so where? Kinda things
What do you like, what do you not like, what do you think visually could change, what do you think shouldn't be changed, etc
I'm definitely against the idea of a toggle
Some stuff are a result of how they had to do the worlds, like pets being disabled globally for interface pets. So thats more a "for the worlds not the scope" type thing.
But they want genuine constructive feedback what players desire, and the worlds are just a visual aid for what players historically have asked
why's that?
Eg if you are against a toggle, but they add one, should that player render as a default model for you as well to signify they have cosmetics off? (Like the ghost model)
That's also a point that I feel is important to talk about as well though. It doesn't feel all that different, the game still looks like it does on most any other world - with the welcome exception of a notable lack of pet spam. I'm grateful for that
And I feel like that comes back to a bit of what I'm thinking here
And it doesn't exactly have to be one global toggle either. It could be dynamic and many flags, but potentially a "select all" type thing too
Eg do you want to see less non-required particle emitters, no pets, hide player gfx in non-pvp, etc
Cosmetic overrides aren't the main issue although in many cases they don't help
Through most of the game's history, I always got the sense that while the fidelity of graphics gradually improved, it was always sort of "internally consistent". You could put a character who came out in 2007 next to a character who came out in 2011 and accept that they were at least from the same game. It never stopped feeling like "RuneScape". Then, if I understand correctly, from around 2014 to around 2019 a lot of the graphical work for the game started being outsourced. That's when we started seeing things like the Prifddinas elves or The Mighty Fall Zanik come out; things that felt weirdly modern, out of place, overly reliant on blurry/pixelated textures stretched over low-poly models, things that I've always felt really don't fit in with their surroundings. That's not an issue that's exclusive to cosmetic overrides specifically. Right now as I'm walking around cosmetic free worlds, I'm still seeing...
Just as an example, I went in game just now and debased myself by doing this on a cosmetic free world
You get what I'm saying?
tbh after being cosmetic free worlds now for 3 days
I never want to go back to what was before
worlds or toggle, don't care what, its too good
As far as a global toggle goes, I feel pretty strongly that that would be a bad decision. A big appeal of MMOs in general, especially here in RuneScape where we have dedicated fashion-related subcommunities, is fashion and character expression. The ability to customize your character however you want and show off whatever cool outfit you've put together in a shared world is part of the social fabric of the game. Seeing different versions of the same character depending on their client settings, effectively toggling what other players are or aren't allowed to wear, is, in my opinion, a highly undesirable outcome. A lot of players play the game primarily to dress up, look cool and engage with more casual social gameplay. To me, having dedicated cosmetic free servers is a much healthier compromise than a global toggle. It allows players who don't want to see any kind of overrides to opt into that experience without robbing others of their ability to express themselves creatively
Again, I'm sorry if I'm expressing my thoughts poorly here 😅
I hope that comes across the way I intended
not at all, makes perfect sense ^^ ty for elaborating
By the way
Skilling outfits
Someone explain this one to me
Two that come to mind are the Runecrafting and Divination outfits
There are two versions of each of those
elite outfits are the one people complain about
That's what I'm about to say
Which one of these fits better in a medieval fantasy setting
id like it if my character was defaulted to a base model yeah. thats me tho
I will grift the anti-cosmetics stance if that means zuk capes can be made to look good
Items looking silly like this is only a small part of the reason people would want this feature, you are able to dress yourself like a clown with weird items in osrs too. Idk if anybody has mentioned this point yet but IMO the purpose of cosmetic free worlds is so that you can actually see what gear other people are using for combat, skilling etc. If you want to look like a clown training your skills without the skilling outfit go for it, however most people wont.
Most elite outfits look ridiculously silly
Imo moreso than most of the overrides
Elite archaeology outfit looks really good because it matches what I envision for an elite skilling outfit
That's valid all I'm suggesting is there is more than just getting clutter off the screen as to why cosmetic free worlds would be a welcomed feature
I think a lot of it comes to them not looking particularly nice
As well
I mean
Wings and shit look gaudy in any game let alone rs3
I feel cosmetic free world exposes one of the biggest problems with rs3 cosmetics even if you play with them off - the fact that designs and styles changed over the years and it being extremely apparent
Ffxiv, wow and gw2 all have cosmetic overrides but I can guarantee you that you can mix and match stuff from the inception of the game to current day and it'd still work because they maintain a consistent background in design
On rs3 good luck mixing something from 2024 with 2025
Both are true yes I think a lot of people have been saying this lol. All i'm saying is that its nice that a new player can come into a cosmetic free world and if they dont have the elite shark outfit they can see someone using it and know what it is. If somebody was using cosmetics with privacy mode you would have no idea.
I don't think we need to change the silly goofy looking items everybody is posting pictures of though because if you're not trolling and actually playing the game you wont be using those items. You aren't taking a pogo stick with prayer aura into a zamorak boss fight for example
😄 story mode it up haha
I bring 2-4 plushies to every fight I'll be fine with a pogo stick
But yeah fair insight thank you
I don't disagree though if people have complaints for specific things but I don't think in actual practice the crazy stuff will be that intrusive
To your first point, lunar arm needs it bad.
Its likely a lot of gear needs to be improved a bit, most of the problem is just that its old. But those used most, particularly higher level are most important
Lunar is used for a decent while early, assuming your not just running necro, isnt it?
Pretty much. Irons run either that or mystic for a while
Tbh I wouldn’t mind an update to lunar, so long as it retained its design features
Just more modern
its definitely one of the armours till you start bossing/slayer, for sure
I like this experiment, But I have to hop to regular worlds to be able to use useful pets.
Pets should be allowed, visible only to the owner.
lol
id be pro visible to the owners for sure. would reduce a ton of clutter. (id opt this as a toggle personally not an update that effects everyone permanently)
Three stage toggle.
-mute all pets
-hide other’s pets
-show all pets
god i want a mute pets option
Lookswise, the rex pups are adorable. Their sounds drive me insane though.
Yeah the urge to report for disruptive behaviour just for using audio pets is strong
TIL some pets make noise

misclicks?
turn off familiar options
Go into settings > Skills and Experience > Summoning. Then scroll down until you see Hide Familiar Options.
Checkmark Hide Familiar Options, then you will not be able to click on your pet
You can still interact with it by right clicking on the summon toolbar icon (same bar with your health and prayer points)
as for the others who have said this, i love the cosmetic free worlds but definitely would like to see boss pets allowed. I think it'd be harder but having it as a customization toggle would likely be better so we can play on any world with them disabled.
I honestly have been loving the cosmetic free worlds. but tbh instead of having a dedicated world we just need a cosmetic toggle
i dont mind seeing the big wings or furry tails. but the damn gigantic pets/followers. hell no. let me toggle them away
I'm strongly against having a global toggle
For particles? Yes, sure, that can be a performance thing
For pets? Mmmmm I'm a little more torn
For other players' cosmetic overrides? Strong no from me there
Any word on if/when cosmetic-free worlds can be UNPINNED from the world hop menu (at least on mobile)?
I'd even accept a toggle to unpin them!
It's utterly ridiculous and very annoying to only have 1 line (1 world) visible to scroll through and find a specific world to hop to for a daily crashed star.

Why though? Why do you have the need to force your opinion on to others? You can leave it toggled on.
Thats effectively what saying no is.
I disagree because I feel like it would split up the playerbase
How though? Assuming its a toggle.
No with the splitting of cosmetic and non cosmetic worlds
Ohh, yeah, im with you there. Devs havent said thats the solution though
A toggle being an universal option is to me the middle ground solution, can tune it to view friends and clannies as well
It's also more 'cost effective'? Than overhauling cosmetics
The player avatar rework itself is a major project that bigger companies like square enix are struggling with and continue releasing content on time
Well, we do just get less content overall.
Id say the player avatar project isnt even that important. If its so much work, it should be canned
Itd be nice, but its not worth slowing everything else by so much for
I was thinking more on the lines of short term here, in the long term the game definitely needs an overhaul to bring consistency in overall design than whatever Frankenstein's mess is going on rn
Eh, let the devs worry about cost effective. They hire people for that
And, im not sure it does. It'd be nice, absolutely. But look at what a low amount of content does, pipulation dropped like crazy recently when we had nothing
I’m not trying to force anything on anyone. I wholeheartedly support having cosmetic-free servers as an option for those who prefer them, and I hope we get to see them become a permanent feature. Giving players more ways to tailor their experience is a good thing. What I'm pushing back on is the idea of a global toggle that makes you decide how other players are allowed to appear or express themselves. Even if it’s only a client-side thing, it still affects how others are perceived, and that has negative social consequences.
If you want a cosmetic-free experience, choose the space that reflects that; play on a cosmetic-free world. Don’t come into a space and demand that everyone else there conform to your personal sensibilities. That’s forcing your opinion on others.
In many other mmos you can mix and match pieces from various eras of the game and it'd still work because the design is kept consistent even if the more recent ones have additional texturing or detailing
In rs3 there's been an evolution of design over the years rather than consistency which makes some stuff like the chicken legs of female characters look very jarring, being totally unable to mix and match stuff from 2024 and 2025 let alone 2018 to 2025 or something
The problem here is that your making expressing yourself conflict with someones ability to decide if they want their screen free of garbage. My ability to control what i see is more important, and always should be
That isnt to say that expressing ones self isnt important, its just not as important
As what you want to see?
yes, as a bland straightforward way of saying it.
theres obviously a problem with how over the top a lot of cosmetics are, due to how big of a reaction as a whole this has gotten overall.
if 'i need to express myself' is the counter argument, thats just an extremely selfish one.
Personally I think some blame is on jagex for letting things get this bad to the point where I, someone who plays MMOs and does hard content for cosmetics consider cosmetic free worlds to be a good option kek
Fair enough
And you don't see the irony of saying that I'm forcing my opinions on others?
also the fact that it was different people in the company making those decisions, as well.
Ya it was just a different era and revolving management can't really blame them too much for it
Still I'm glad they're taking steps to resolve
sure, thats fine.
but you have to understand that what i want to see is a lot more important than you wanting me to see something. the reality is that if you care so much about people wanting to see you a certain way, thats your problem internally (and thats fine, no shade or anything). but its a hard argument to say that me controlling what i see being less important than someone forcing everyone to see something because they feel they need to.
and, even without cosmetics, you have a decent control over how to want to look, its just not 'ideal' for people that want over the top, out there stuff, which is what most of us actually want to avoid
What you want is more important than what anyone else wants?
because what i want is controlling what i see.
And you're calling me selfish?
what you want is to force me to see something
id say forcing someone else to see something is more selfish than restricting what i see.
much more.
I'd say try a single player game, perhaps
currently, i dont have the choice
you do.
whats wrong with me having the choice as well?
You having a choice in how I look in the game?
I didn't think to run it by you before I put this outfit on
I'm so sorry
How selfish of me
but thats not it.
you shouldnt need to have to think of others, nor should you
thats why the toggle is so good.
it is the best of both worlds.
you can look how you want, and thats amazing
It's not. Cosmetic free worlds are already a reasonable compromise
and i can also not have my vision clogged with particles and eye distractions
but why is that better?
its just splitting the playerbase.
now we never see each other, and the game as a whole becomes smaller.
'feels' smaller
id rather have you, and others in my game.
even if i dont want to see all those over the top cosmetics.
hopefully we can see some kind of a poll/survey to see what people think of all these suggestions like having a toggle option, versus player segregation 😄
My primary concern is just splitting the playerbase
I really dislike how alot of gear especially elite skilling outfits look so I prefer making overrides, but my friend hates cosmetic overrides and refuses to leave the cosmetic free worlds
Sure ideally either one of us suck up and play on the other's world but to me it feels bad that either I'm screwing with his experience or mine is getting screwed even if it's for a momentary period of time
Which is why I'll take a granular toggle over having to make 'sacrifices' in a way
yeah, the positives of a toggle have far more positives and far less negatives than free worlds.
i think the main problem is that some people dont want to make any sort of sacrifice, or feel like its going to make their experience worse somehow.
when in reality, they wont even notice.
I really noticed it when I was catching up on the desert questline and did some quests on cosmetic free worlds, the golem mining outfit ruined my immersion when I was meowing at Amascut kekw
another issue with having permanent cosmetic free worlds would be the logistics. I would love to play on them right now but from SEA they are all 270 ping literally unplayable
They're also highly populated rn
And we all know what happens if there's more than 400 people in a world on both games
and also, you'd have to then leave those worlds and have a worse experience any time you had to do anything that required a specific world
or just a different one
Ya some minigames and clan citadels? Send you to an instance shard world
The downside is, you then have to either gimp yourself by foregoing benefits like w79 divination, w70 artisans and so on
Or you have to hold your nose and go to those worlds and play on something you don't want to play. Same with any activity that has an expected world.
The game is already forcing you to choose between gameplay benefits and cosmetic free experience in the current experience
Surely thats worse than whatever downside it is of people not seeing someones cosmetic?
Doubly so given that those that would toggle it off, don't appreciate said cosmetics in the first place?
I just don't see said social consequence you're talking about
There is no negative with toggles
Literally harms no one
Theo’s argument makes no sense whatsoever
oh, i know.
but the point was to make them see that.
like, there are likely negatives, just not negatives to us, the average consumer
most of those 'percieved' negatives lie in the desperate need some people have to have others 'see' them, but the reality is that situation doesnt actually exist or apply, because the people turning it off dont care who or what they are. but they still want to shovel that down everyone's throats.
The average consumer probably doesn't really care to much about cosmetics or no cosmetics though
It's just the "no cosmetics" side and the "look at me even if you don't want to" sides that are probably both a minority
Compared to the bigger playerbase that doesn't care^
Id like thinks thats the case here. I think large summons are the largest (haha) issue period. A resizing or a single allowance for boss pets only would do a lot for visual clarity. Toggle options would work great too.
I think that most of the problem people have with certain cosmetics are either particles , the size, or the aesthetics.
A toggle or an adjustment to the looks could work in all 3 cases. It would just be up to Jagex for which path they would take.
the one cosmetic thing I hate more than anything else is that walk animation which has the player standing idle swinging their arms by their side and thumbs-upping once in a while
but tbh walk animation overrides generally are pretty grotesque - even though I've seen complaints about the basic one recently it still looks like something a real person who wasn't the most annoying shit ever would do
I agree with the poll thing, but "segregation" is a bit of a loaded term. Personally I feel this situation is complicated; there are good points being made on both sides (including Sir Theodore)
Yeah, its almost always going to be the parts that are annoying that will be the ones that matter, and will be used. Mtx cosmetics are a big complaint from osrs players, but its hard to say that giving the choice doesnt make a better experience.
main perk to perma cosmetic-free worlds would be better marketing for the game when shown in social media, youtube, livestreams etc
but could also just condemn creators that make videos without cosmetics toggled off
Mtx cosmetics is a big complaint by osrsers? Im not going to say its impossible to exist but... first time im hearing of that.
Mtx as a topic though, yes absolutely that.
Pretty much any thread you'll find asking OSRS players at large about RS3 will have someone complaining about wings, particles, garish outfits
Its not nearly as big of a deal as TH
but its absolutely a thing for RS3 that makes RS3 just that bit less appealing
quite a lot of osrs players play other mmos and games which offer in-depth customisability options, so i dont think the cosmetic override system itself is an issue
the actual issue is just that the very existence of these incredibly gaudy cosmetics, especially with some of them being wearable in cosmetic-free worlds ruins the experience
theres also the fact that some of them scream 'IM MTX OOH LOOK AT ME" even though they arent necessarily procured via mtx i.e glacor wings or festive aura which also screws with the experience, not to mention people using a bunch of cosmetics to look like a walking kingdom hearts combo chain or a bugged out demon idk which is not even possible in the games i've played like ffxiv, guild wars 2 or even warframe
even if its an extreme of an extreme outlier, people can and will point to that as a detriment, especially when its established
Yeah, its a pretty common complaint, even if its not the biggest one, or the biggest problem. Rs3 cosmetics are pretty over the top, but the system outside of mtx isnt necessarily a problem. Just them being so... crazy and immersion breaking.
Yeeeeaah, there's a lot of armor/outfits, both MTX and wearable, that are straight ugly as sin.
Floating T pose rainbow vomit lightning hair with a drake pet?
something like that, yes
would have been great to have world 84 been cosmetic free, could have seen if it made any impact at all with old pc crashing
This is why having toggles would be a trillion times better than cosmetic free worlds. Instead of splitting the playerbase and making them go to worlds that are not dedicated to certain things simply having it accessible anywhere would be much better. Still don't see the point in having cosmetic free worlds when it probably took 5x longer than a simple toggle and just evaluated how many people used the toggle.
I kinda think it was probably easier to just disable cosmetics altogether on specific servers (the way they did it which also disables useful pets) than to put in certain toggles.
If they can toggle it off for a server, its almost just a UI addition away from being added for us to use.
The question isnt what would be better for us, toggle is undoubtfully better. The question is whether its a good decision regarding profit.
This was the case, as they can do the world-specific checks and such in it all without the need of engine changes to make things toggle-able.
It took time that was NOT taken from individuals working on other projects in the roadmap, compared to if they needed the engine devs taken off leagues and other stuff to design a toggle.
Thus toggle would come later, as they specified in the original blog when this one started.
In my opinion, people are wayyy too focused on it being a world, than the visual aspects it has brought. Yes some things are restrictive this way like not being able to use certain functional pets. But that's a limitation of hard-disabling for the world to work quicker for the experiments to go live with the same visual aspect as if someone toggled things off.
They want to gauge what could be changed if things were off, what you do/dont like, if you think it looks better/worse thus way, what you'd like to see different, etc.
I personally would ignore the fact it's a separate world or "splitting the community", as they've already mentioned when it started that it's not the path they're wanting to go, but the most viable for this moment for the same end result visually
Eg the default model toggle when players quantity raise needed client engine work to add, they could have just forced the servers to not report player outfit data and report that visual look and feel without player input, but then the players have no choices in that aspect. (So they didn't use this approach for outfits)
So they would have to take time to give the engine support to toggle between that data, and if the toggle allowed lower model quantities or not.
So a toggle would need time from other teams they can't expend atm, so it's just temp forced off worldwide without an option possible.
That just seems like overcomplicating things
runelite added like 4 lines and instantly had player models vanished entirely when turned on
Its the simplest route without taking people from other teams
Runelite is also 3rd party, and heavily modified as a client to be able to do so. By non-jagex individuals who can skimp many checks and decisions
I know thats two separate games but realistically it should be relatively similar
Its not really a fair comparison using runelite to work involvement
How hard would it be though to just make it so the model of all surrounding players just don't render with a simple toggle
Isint that just 1-4 lines as you take the model id or whatever
and we just never see them anymore similar to if they took all cosmetics and put them under their own label and set it to a toggle turning it off and they vanish
showing only whats underneath
I'm not expert but I was pretty sure it was that simple
Its not just a matter of effort, as much as team decisions and being dedicated the time to do so
Atm a toggle would mean taking time from leagues developments, which would then become a "broken promise" that these experiments wouldn't affect the roadmap.
They can't just go rogue, and ignore the checks and balances in actual development environments over that a 3rd party hobbyist can
You're playing it off like jagex is being lazy by not jumping the gun to just do it regardless
And just making others vanish is a lazy method that just hides the issues
Why take the grill cook in a restaurant and have them go into a public event to do advertising for the company outside their roles. Yes a live demo cooking can help, but its outside the scope for their role in that project.
Then others have to cleanup after their lost time
I'm not saying they are lazy by any means I just feel like they are over complicating this entire thing
I feel like they are trying to figure out who buys cosmetics for the sole purpose of appealing to others rather than themselves right. So they are doing this to see if the people who don't want to see them is greater than those who specifically buy them to show off.
They're doing what they can to simulate the same effects of toggling it all off without taking time from other teams and staying in their roles
Instead of ignoring that wonky mindset of those specific players and just giving everyone the choice to hide what they don't want to see
That's really the only reason I can think of as to why they would choose the world option over just adding a simple toggle which would take 6 mins to make
I think they would get far better results if they had built a simple toggle to see how many people actually used it and collected data where players use it the most to identify actual issues
The devs are always going to ocerstate the effort required to do something.
It makes it look better when they do it, or when they 'cant'
The meeting duration just to discuss colours for a new menu would take over that duration.
It may be 6 mins as a hobbyist to just force everything off without checks, but not that of a functional corporate setting tbh.
Well, yeah. 99% of their time spent is meetings discussing what to dl
Or if it will maximise profit
Ect
Thats why i was emphasizing the world isn't the focus, its just a result of not taking time off others projects
Tbf you had Jagex running the Mysteria TH promo which was broken for like half a decade and we would consistently get x60 lamps / chests from the wrong active promo but eh
Oh yeah, some people are just making the world the focus.
sometimes the corporate setting isint functional to begin with
I don't mean that in a bad way but the data from these worlds is just far less reliable than using a toggle
Well, we're seeing corp and AAA's dysfunction in general these days.
But im not sure jagex is quite that.
The tape, but probably not the budget
The data is purely on seeing how spending changes during the event.
It likely doesnt matter how many use the worlds, or their experience.
Not even during, either. The statement itself will show a lot, as people might fear cosmetics leaving. Thats data.
Does it lead to higher membership counts? Maybe.
If they had put the 6-10mins into building a toggle that only hid things from a players perspective they will find the areas where it's most damaging if they spent a few hours building a tool that let players search items / cosmetics they did not want to see and click to toggle them off / on Jagex would get a clearer idea of:
- What types of Cosmetics / Items are the issue
- Where is it being used the most and how can we work to reduce negative effects in this area so players may not need to use it
- Can the found items / cosmetics now be optimized better in a way that causes less lag now that they would of been able to identify what things are killing players devices.
They get literally none of this data from hosting cosmetic free worlds which is the bigger problem in my eyes
The post-survey?
Their decision on what to do, and how to do it isnt based on player experience. Its based on revenue.
Thats what im on about.
Tbh the biggest metric in this in-game is most likely as well the retention of unique players on these over others.
And the other nitty gritty is handled in feedback given, and the surveys. An in-game tracker could help, but the extra effort (more than 6 minutes), would be relatively moot for the time involved for the results answered in the surveys.
Thus my original involvement trying to have people be aware the fact its a world shouldn't be a primary focus, as much as the visual aspects after things were disabled.
Eg maybe default metal armour looks need a rework, certain magic sets may not look magical. Potentially porting some more physical diango items to be overrides removing physicals. Etc
Otherwise they wouldn't have stated they're willing to increase world counts for the experiments if needed if retention and usage was high enough they stayed full
If people had feedback to give, they're more than likely to give it in these types of channels, socials, and the surveys more than expecting private collections without inputs.
Thus the importance of the feedback, over arguments and discussions of the nitty gritty.
I'm a simple man.
I see that cosmetic-free worlds disable pets, including legendary pets. That means it's a gameplay nerf.
I stick to normal worlds.
Players historically have stated they use overrides to hide the default armours, so its a metric they'll have to tackle as well tbh.
Not just mtx usages, but just as a collective whole.
Especially since they're still working on the avatar rework project it gives a good secondary feedback to what changes can be made
Thus why they cant just clump it all in one basket and look at multiple problems, thus the feedback importance
This is how I’ve interpreted it. Basically, just seeing what it would look like. For example, many of us have noticed that having regular familiars can be a bit much in some locations, like War’s Retreat. They COULD have done a toggle, but you get more apparent results when everyone has cosmetics disabled, thus cosmetic free worlds. This is also a way to not intrude on those not interested in joining said worlds.
I'm out of the loop, did they say they were going to work on the avatar refresh again?
its been unshelved yes
Oh, that's awesome
You see your PC more than any other character in the game, so I'm glad the rework for it is back on
Why are No Cosmetic Worlds all empty now by weekend and the full around 1k numbers stayed for less than a week? Two real reasons, can't wait for them to intrepet it wrong and think it's unpopular when it wasn't lol more like no point playing on there if the clown COSMETICS WERE STILL ENABLED
And second reason mainly not enough players in RS3 to begin with so everyone sticks to the one Skilling one for XP boost on EU and the Traders World nothing else
Tbh even if the clown cosmetics were fully disabled on the next test with players having no way to bug it and ruin the whole thing it's still kind of hopeless because the game has been changed so much that it is basically unturnable to the point it can never look like it was 10 years ago because they've not only flooded it with cosmetics there are also so many other out of place real in game items not just the Skilling ones where you float around as a magical orb.....it's just not Medieval themed anymore which is why everyone went to OSRS anyway

feels like it's worth noting that the cosmetic free worlds are more populated than other worlds in their server location except specific ones that are always heavily populated (w2/w84)
sub-100 on the east coast one but it's like 6am there
I'm also sure there's a lot of people like me who would desperately love to play on cosmetic-free worlds but can't stomach a world above 150-ish pop given the deeply-ingrained server issues the game's had for years
Also just losing all the familiars from the familiar interface can be a strong reason to not play there even if people want to
both RS and OSRS have clown cosmetics available as items
people likely did not switch off them simply because of a few players using them in social areas
personally I switched off because there isn't yet an Igneous Kal-master completionist cape (t)
so I can't use my master comp cape (t) while benefitting from the igneous kal-zuk like you can in OSRS
Let’s quit with the doom posting. That is all you have been doing and it isn’t feedback at this point.
I'll give you reasons, though I disagree they're all empty (they're pretty empty at the hour you posted this because EU/NA are largely asleep or not online)
-
Gameplay reasons to go to other worlds. W79 div, w84 portables, w70 artisans, lorehound/legendary pets, shooting stars, thaler, pvm ping and so on. People will choose gameplay benefits over aesthetics when push come to shove.
-
At least first few days, w97 and w139 each hit over 1k concurrent, so people were definitely interested in the premise of these worlds
-
Cosmetic free worlds tend to have more players than the average world
-
F2p cosmetic free world did not shrink at all by the weekend and has had 6 days in a row where it has hit most populated f2p world, reaching over a quarter of the f2p concurrent playerbase every single day it has run
Remember the players who already play would be the type of player most ok with the status quo
f2p players have way less gameplay reasons to not play on cosmetic free worlds, and are potential customers hesitant to commit to the game, and they play on cosmetic free worlds on a much higher rate
With that I think there is a case to be made that for attracting potential players, some way to deal with the cosmetics are a worthwhile endeavor
And thats the big point in the end, no? Growing the playerbase after a perma change to monetisation?
F2P have significantly more bots than P2P, and since the experiment started the auto-log has chosen the cosmetic free worlds most of the time (I know, because I've had to specifically chose a different world every time I log in because I want my cosmetics.).
Bot users don't care whether their dolls have cosmetics or not.
P2P non-cosmetic worlds are probably a better indication of actual interest the community has than F2P non-cosmetic worlds since these people are significantly less likely to be bots (because of the paywall)
it heavily depends on where you are, i've not had auto login to cosmetic free worlds once
had to actively hop to them every time
I don't think they've chosen them to be default login so I assume it was the same way as previous, and the cosmetic free world wasn't highly populated previously to my knowledge
w3 was the dominating f2p world
I don't have any worlds favorited, and it always defaults to W19 on login. Likely due location.
I think you need to double check what is cosmetics and what isn’t. Cause every time you’ve posted an example it was incorrect as none of your examples showed cosmetics still enabled
Oh right
w139 has a bugged ripper demon with no owner blocking war's retreat bank
has had so for days
and the interact option on it doesn't go away even if you disable familiar interactions
Its really annoying because its definitely sabotaging the experiment somewhat
it's just in front of it
slightly inconvenient
odd that the interact option appears though yeah
Hey, even ripper demons gotta bank stand and grind
I mean also. Some of us like cosmetics because the actual armour looks bloody awful (even worse as a female avatar).
oh thats so funny
I mean it's my opinion. I'd rather wear my cosmetic overrides than look at the actual base models, not everyone agrees and that's fine. I think a toggle would be the ideal solution. Especially a toggle for [cosmetics with] particles. Also IMO cosmetics are the least problematic part of MTC.
The female avatar options are a bigger issue and not part of the scope of this experiment, but I'm not the only one that's said that if you remove cosmetics they need to work on the appearance of the base armours.
I still think it's important to know how it's like once the "something new" feeling dies off over the coming months.
Perfection
almost 2 weeks in with cosmetic worlds
Can report I'm not even slightly tired of them
99% of my time since they came out have been on w139 and will probably remain so out the experiment
The regular rune armor set looks so cool?
And it's awesome to see people get excited about that
I think most of the base metals look nice. Not crazy on banite
As long as some people like it, thats fine. Cant please everyone with everything
Exactly. The focus needs to be on game health. Not appealing to every subset of the game population
If something is detrimental to game health then nix it. Players will adapt. Just like they did when MTX was forced into the game
People dont understand that enough. Too shortsighted. Always how this effects themselves. But yeah, overall game health seems to be a big goal atm, and strides seem to be being made.
looks like world 98 is a typo. 98 is an elite god wars dungeon world, maybe world 97?
