@tropic current any word on if old perks work for new skilling mainhands?
With double xp on the way, any plans on when the Archeology and Dungeoneering skilling dummies to be included from the skilling crates?
Primal Crossbow's don't have the new components?
Gonna review with the team I may have misread the design doc
are talismans supposed to give the new comps?
yeah they seem to be working
although yet to get one 😄
same with fur lol nothing wants to give it
water tally just gave me one
offcuts are flying in, water tally and fur seem hella rough
Have you discovered the Manufactured componant?
whats your invention level?
if it helps, primal crossbow mk5 does have them - I got 8 comps from d/a'ing 20 (56 Inv)
do the crossbows have to be the mk5 vs the normal ones?
good timing 😄
hearing from mod Helen that the non mk version doesnt give them
Do we know if that's intentional?
As the post mentioned the non-upgraded
I'd assume it is if Helen says so
`Yeah I am gonna update the newspost thats on me for reading it a bit wrong
No worries at all, thank you for looking into it 🙂
eternal magic shortbows arent giving any (250) disassembled
I assume those will also have to be the highest upgraded version
Eternal Shortbows & Iron to Primal equipment from Smithing.
assuming this refers to all types of armour
would they then need to be upgraded versions as well?
Yes everything would need to be enhanced to at least +1/Mk1 etc I ahve updated the newspost to better reflect this
Thanks Azanna 🙂
turns out the "special" roll for Manuf comps is always 2 components
Can also be 1 apparently
from talismans it's just 1 (screenshot just above)
thank you!
unless you make the items, the cost is quite high right now to get comps
The volume charts on flatpacks might be interesting
whats supposed to be the best way to get manufactured parts?
so how do wer get offcut components? it says flatpacks, hunter gear and furs, but tried everything and got 0
talk to the person outside guild then discover comps
but you can discover before talking to them
They seem pretty rare, out of like 100 mahogany armchairs, i've had 2 offcuts
mahog tables i got 21 from 100
please give us an option to repeat the dialogue with Lea!
When i talk to lea, "we meet again, have you have my bag"
When i go into the working bench nothing new to discover
50m deep into eternal mk5s and not a single comp
took about 15 mk5 bows to get my first manufactured drop on the test run
3 drops in an inventory of 28 bows
guess im just hella unlucky
Possibly the case, when I was testing for naturalist perk the other day it took ages to get it, some days ya just have the luck on your side
greater ecto seems to be fairly consistent, but I also have 150 with the t4 luck relic. I doubt it has anything to do with it, but 🤷♂️
how do you discover offcut comps?
I'm still confused on the carved rod part lol
going to assume you have to continue to talk to the mini-quest giver
oh so I have to make the bag first?
Can anyone tell me the names of the main hands
You do not need to discover Offcut materials
how do you get mushy mush, putting mushrooms into chin pen yields variety mush
did you already have food in the pen?
nope cleared it
did you still have other things in your inventory? maybe it ate it all at once?
Put it into a zygo pen
100 mahogany tables gave me 6 offcut materials
any idea berst to dis for offcut comps plz , primal crossbow mk5 work well for manufactured comps
Any chance we can maybe craft hunter furs into gear ourselves, rather than having to go through an npc?
Yeah, Chins turn everything into variety, you’ll need a zygomite
Having 99 crafting and not being able to sew our own kebbit fur together feels a bit silly
Meanwhile Splitbark.
Maybe something for Hunter 110 but unlikely to be a thing for an update like this
any update if any of the older perks also work for new rc/thieve mainhands?
mahogany flatpacks worked for me, manufactured comps I found powerful necroplasm to be good
Marble cape racks seem like 100% chance at 2 offcuts
As an ironman it hurt to spend that much money, but it was for science
hehe
how?
Rip I've had 2 so far
I have a feeling 95% of the players thought at first, about 2 offhands 🙂
Do we know what old perks do on the new tools yet?
No exp on binding rod from runespan 😦
Necroplasm?
the mushroom bag shadow-requiring 81 farming wasn't expected, guess I put thieving off for longer
same here - tried fur, bear fur, grey wolf fur, all kinds of falconry fur, all items made with falconry fur, every hunter gear item sold in hunter shops (luke box traps, noose wands etc), zero offcut comps
also several inventories of teak and mahogany flatpacks, not a single comp
they're supposed to be "uncommon" and not ultra rare
how? I tried every single item type that was mentioned, before and after talking to Lea, not a single component
did get 2 manufactured comps without talking to any NPC though
Mort myre mushrooms
There shouldn’t be any requirements to receive any materials, afaik
the mushy mush needs zygomites to make into said mush, else roll an excessive amount of supplies at iaia to maybe get enough
Those materials that have discovery blueprints are only for the ability to use them in gizmos
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Mushy_mush
Ah, didn’t realize mush is untradable
How bout breeding pen?
same thing
put a zygo in there to add food
Should let us invent a farmfood blender
you missed the first message being the requirement of 81 farming unexpected
you can feed them to chins too
chins turns it to variety no matter what
Mush storage upgrade for farm
Stick food in, automatically become mush
Would safe bankspace for raw meat too
wiki states 17 farming req for mushy mush so idk
what happens if you add the mushrooms, remove the chins and take food out
once you put it in its variety
Where are you seeing that?
for the mushroomy pouch do you expect people to farm bittercap mushrooms? they're low level to farm (53) and nobody sells the seeds. <200 volume sold according to wiki. who's idea was this? why not have them be made with tombshroom instead, that would actually match the artwork (light blue smoke coming from the pouch). but even then, those mushrooms have low volume sold on G/E and take lvl 109 to grow. I'm so confused honestly. maybe they don't want them to be very common because the pouch is overpowered?
is there an extra requirement to receive offcut components? I read above that you must talk to Lea but that didn't change that I don't get a single comp from whatever I disassemble
the tooltip mentions furs and the analyze function used on the furs I have shows that they're supposed to give them
also that the roll for special is independent of the roll for junk or simple or variable
Can a jmod confirm if Prosper perk works or not now with rc/thieving?
Right, special components have their own roll
Right now we don’t actually know what the chances are for the various items
Hopefully the wiki will get a dump of all of them from Jagex
a few hundred mixed furs from falconry kebbits gave zero comps, so apparently the chance is worse than 1/500
Junk chance was bad so makes sense
but from what I understood in view of terminology of other drops (also boss/slayer/rdt) something being called "uncommon" means the drop rate shouldn't be worse than 1/128
and the roll for special is separate so junk chance shouldn't have any influence
i think the best item for offcuts is mahog armchair
I used up all the planks I had to make various flatpacks, no luck
but that was before I talked to Lea... not sure if that makes a difference
well I made way more than 50 and got zero
mahog armchairs has the best junk and material chance
i think 40% junk and x2 materials
maybe there is another requirement which I missed
that'll take a lot of rdt and AOD drops to get mahog planks again
iron light playstyle so basically yes, need to get my own
and I'm definitely not chopping inferior logs with dxp around the corner
that too will take way longer than getting planks as drops, miscellania is slow
and then still they all need to be thrown into the plank machine which takes another week
by that time dxp will be long over
which is why I tried the hunter method for comps
i just used analyse to check to materials/junk chance on various items
I think the preservation perk is kinda bugged! used over 150 gizmos with components to get the perk but still haven't seen it in any combination
would be worthwhile at 2% per rank
have you tried wild runes on air altar with all rune boosts?
but you get the biggest rune multiplier on air?
yes
you'll get a 4.5k assortment of random runes
every like 20 runs
air rcing will never be meta tho
idk
What’s the move for manufactured
Necroplasm?
Binding rod gets nothing in runespan?
The examine text is pretty explicit about 'altars'
I have been making Mahogany Armour cases and in about 500 planks I've gottten 28 offcut comps
has anyone found a good combo for Naturalist and Explosive?
need at least 3 Manufactured for Explosive so I imagine this would be around right
oooo thanks
azanna can you confirm powerful necroplasm is being dismantled correctly?
in what fashion?
1:1 dismantle ratio instead of 1:50
like 1 item to 50 material componants?
some items dismantle in stacks of 50, like arrows and runes
Does prosper perk work with the new rc/thieving tools?
i figured 1 powerful necroplasm wasnt alot considering how many you can make
It will, there is an issue with it at this moment that doesnt let it drop clues but its been flagged and is being resolved
My understanding that 1 to 1 is correct but I will check
Thank you for the response!
Which perks will good to use on the new new skilling mainhands? Asking for a friend. 🙂
Anyone know a good thing to disassemble for Offcuts?
Any chance you know what the chance should be for each skill? The wiki has them for all the existing ones [[prosper]]
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Prosper
all these comps from 3k powerful necroplasm
thats not even 2m gp worth of supplies lol
Yea powerful necroplasm is the best way
Its been raised to the team, its likely intended to be 1/50 but we will see shortly
Takes a while to prep that stuff from scratch, so... 1 to 1 doesn't seem too out of place imo
Anyone got the preservation perk or is it insanely rare? Tried 40+ with ancient gizmos with manufactured components but got everything at max rank except preservation never appeared.
havent gotten wild runes or preservationist yet
got many wild runes5 wist hasty 5 and explosion
Very RNG-dependent. Earlier Mod Azanna said:
Possibly the case, when I was testing for naturalist perk the other day it took ages to get it, some days ya just have the luck on your side
lol sounds right, got explosion/nat5 on 2nd try
Explosive still giving rockertunities
delete this
Why would necroplasm not disassemble one at a time? Is it not pretty much just runes/ammo that are batches of 50?
I believe the core issue here is that the comps are too common for only needing 1 item per disassembly
Feels like if that was unintended the “fix” would just be to reduce the chance? It’s also a pretty high level item, taking 8 of the base item and several rituals to produce
[[powerful necroplasm]]
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Powerful_necroplasm
If wiki calculator is accurate getting preservation with manufactured actually seems kinda hard to do. some weirdness to do with how perks are calculated. Silent comps seem to get it well
idk if there's a bug or just weird design
There were reports of the calculator not working properly, not sure if that’s been resolved yet
necroplasm is easy to make and comes in large batches, several hundred at a time depending on multipliers. I would expect it to be 1:50
Is there anything else besides ammo and runes that does that?
Does fortune perk work with thieving/rc tools?
idk but i assumed it would be 50 before trying it, and i was very surprised by how OP it is right now
Outside of runes/ammo (and ammo materials) best I could think of was something like bait or feathers. Bait is not disassbled, feathers are disassembled 1 at a time. so hmmm
I'm a bit late, but sad to see the new achievement isn't a miniquest for some reason
Fortune doesn't work on either. For RC it would have to straight up double any runes ya made which would be fun but scary and for Thieving it would be doubling items you are stealing which could get weird
If prosper will work with the thieving and runecrafting items, could we get the rates for the wiki?
I found the list of outliers: https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Disassembly_categories
All of these D/A 50 at a time unless stated otherwise:
- Arrows & arrowheads
- Bolts & bolt tips
- Cannonballs
- Darts
- Harmonic dust (100/DA instead of 50)
- Runes
- Scrolls (10/DA)
- Throwing axes & throwing knives
ah could it not do it per rune? so chance per rune
but my double clue chance at ham members :<
Talismans definitely aren’t batches
but muh double clue chance at ham members
my bad for that, did a derp (went off the category name)
also why cant we use furnace with theiving :<
Interesting
tbf even smithing can double
So other than harmonic dust and scrolls, yeah, it’s pretty much just ammo
Thieving so good you pull 2 pairs of Ham boots out of their pocket
I'd love to see necroplasm D/A in batches of 20. That would be consistent with how much is needed to make ink.
Then they could also make ink D/A-able for 1:1
^seems like a better middle ground
well they do have 2 feet 😉
you wear a pair of shoes on each of your feet?
you carry a spare pair of shoes in your pocket?
try this
do we know bis combos yet?
Confused perk should let you dodge when caught by teleporting away 1-3% of the time when caught
Would it be possible to include more details in the news posts again? I appreciate the blog a week earlier, but feel like for a lot of people it'd be nice to have it all included in the actual news post as well.
I used water tallys/flatpacks/powerful necroplasm had both made within 30 mins.
just buy limit of a few of the mahogany flatpack variants
I only had to d/a 200 before I got enough for bag and rod
is their a reason oblivious/prosper is so insainly rare to get yet, wild runes/prosper isnt?
also is their any discussion on giving the mushroomy bag a passive like the RC one?
mushroomy bag has a passive
1/3.81 chance for oblivious prosper with 6 comps and on 20 inv
what comps
20 invention lmao
do you need them in 1 gizmo? which other thieving perks even work with the bag?
did this update increase items you can perk? like the taggas hammer?
if only
okay true true
lower chance to get the prosper combo tho but if you want only oblivious better.
omg
nvm I misread Explosive for Prosper
might as well ask: Does Rapid work for Thieving?
it feels like it'd fit in nicely
Is anyone else not getting the new components? I researched them, but I'm not getting them on disassemble
does polished work with theiving?
I'm not seeing their icon in my component bag either
U need em once for them to show
almost certainly not. polishing had a special mention that only included rc, and I can't imagine how it'd work for thieving
Clues don't get polished with other skills either
Theres certain items with high junk chance so it might take 500 of those items to get it :p better to diss Powerfull necroplasm for manu comps and flat packs for offcuts
i still think we should be able to augment off-hands, like attuner, furnace core, etcv
even if the perks were just regular weapon/armor perks so we can have mobile etc
that would already go a long way
1 in 4.12 in normal gizmo....
did you find out yet? i agree it would be pretty nice
dunno
So are they rare components or uncommon?
Jagex
Please don't nerf the manufactured rate of powerful ectoplasm
😭
I beg of you
manufactured is rare comp offcut is uncommon
1 /50 is still very easy to get, 1/5 is like meaningless
They're still nerfing it though
What's the best item to dis offcut?
so I made the bag and upgraded it but when I show it to Lea, she thinks I don't have one and won't talk to me
can you please fix this bug asap?
I'm not going to make a 2nd basic bag
It has to be new
i heard it was supposed to be unupgraded
also she takes the bag, you need to make 2 anyway
ooh didn't think of normal. bump up the level to 70. chance goes up to 72.94%
yes it is new and unused but nobody said it can't be the upgraded one
if it has to be the basic version, there should've been a confirmation prompt "you are amending an item that is still required to show to Lea"
or it shouldn't even allow to upgrade before talking to her if only the unupgraded one works
thats for oblivious explosive not prosper?
Anybody know the best combo for preservationist and honed?
it doesn't matter you're not losing out, she takes the bag from you once you make it and show it to her
omfg I can't believe I made that mistake again
you will not mistakenly upgrade 2 bags so it's kinda not an issue
EAT IT GAME
I thought she wants to see one to know how they're made and then gives it back
I don't want to make even more gloves of silence, one by one, in that Varrock shop, it doesn't even have a batch production option
also does fortune work on runecrafting
what level
24
Does Honed work on either skill?
how many attempts
hmm, either lucky or wiki calc inaccurate
ig it's an option if you don't have 3rd age
does fortune work with RC?
no
booooo
I agree
doubt it but no confirmation
Hotfix applied
does tinker work with any of the new stuff
Do any of the old perks with the new stuff? Lol
i'm a bit confused - Oblivious perk doesnt seem to work?
You now d/a 20 necroplasm at a time
In what way? It was working for me
Did prosper get hotfixed?
well i just did a test run and i still get stunned and take the usual damage
do you have charge in your charge pack?
yes ofc
did powerful necro diss just get live changed to 20 at a time?
What perks work with the pickpocket bag?
WIP
does that perk have to be on thieving tool?
whats wrong with it?
intended to work with rc and thieving mainhands iirc
and besides: did you continue the pickpocketing or how should i understand that stun prevention?
Currently not working on the RC/Thieving Augments
ah i see
yes pickpocketing continued as normal. your perk is on a bag and not some other tool right?
ye thieving doesn't really have any perk options besides obliv so thatd be sad to not have it work aha
hence my question if it has to be on the thieving tool - so it needs to be? xd
I was in middle of discovering the invention materials and it stopped me and said I dont have the invention level but now its not there any more could that be the hotfix?
did u relog?°
oh I missed that one, but yeah. Perks don't work for a skill unless they're on the right tool. Same as you wouldn't get mining benefits from honed if you had it on an equpped hatchet
You got spooned tho its a 1/202. Gzz tho
so far it seems only oblivious, prosper and stuff like wise/enhanced efficient work
Wish Honed could work...
tinker would be nice
caroming would go hard
caroming thieving, steal from 5 npcs at once
throwback to leagues 5 osrs
then you get caught. gives "flash mob" a new definition
Patch notes got updated
- Fixed an issue where guest chat was also sent additionally to group channels.
- Fixed an issue with Clan/GIM broadcasts being duplicated unintentionally. This issue is resilient and may persist in some instances, if you do run into a duplicated broadcast please report it via the in game systems to help us pinpoint it.
we call tht aoe slayer
I’m glad that I work on Mondays- therefore everyone can play and give me the strategies to do it in the evening 🤣. Any new steps for comp cape/ mqc/etc I need to get my capes back friends 🤗
i dont seem to be able to get manufactured comps from eternal bows mk5 o.O
is that yet to be fixed?
Seems like Powerful Necroplasm been hotfixed, now require 20/diss instead of 1/diss
...I should have stockpiled
wait i thought we would augment off-hands too lol
Only main-hands for thiev/rc was update for
guys
I think someone said it took like 15 earlier to get comps
doesnt seem to be worth it then
Was fun while it lasted
insane amounts 🙂
Roll back these people bug abusing 🤣🤣🤣
not really a bug, is it
Please tell me what bug was abused, I see none
Not at all
Is this why they changed it to 1/20? Did I do this. I was trying to get as many comps as I could pre-nerf and I got distracted
shoulda called in sick today💀
I mean if you found something that was changed and not intended- that is a bug and you are exploiting the intended mechanics of gameplay….
who couldve known that it wasnt intended? xd
Fortunately, I just moved to a farm and there's been too much stuff to do so I haven't gotten a new job yet.
ban every zamorak farmer after the upcoming nerf
Most bots that are farming should be banned. I think they already addressed too with the player support and the changes coming they are looking into more strict measures with gameplay.
Was it my comment that did it? Did I change history?
will dwarf traders catch damage be looked at? oblivious is suddenly letting people get like 1.3m thieving xp/h baseline whereas before crux knights were like 730k xp and you needed bis skilling gear/auras to reach afk
They throw out the update and then probably adjust based on the playability of the update. I mean they hot/cold fix things on the fly from player experience
are there any known combos posted somehwere?
In here someone got an oblivious/prosper on 6 timeworn and 3 manufactured in middle 6 surrounds timeworn.
Then second is 6 manufactured 3 off cut for explosive with naturalist 4
assuming the calc is correct:
Dang breaking the game luck mechanic
is this a better combo than naturalist explosive?
it's only a "bug" if they stated it was supposed to be 1:20 and then ended up being 1:1. We had no clue what the intended rate was, hence it's not "bug abuse".
how???
this
8x silent 1x manu
1/1161 chance
same either way
whether if its in the middle, corner or w.e
It assumes if the gizmo calc has been fixed tho
I mean technically the game didn’t provide any rates at all if you want to argue that logic. They can still roll back as they didn’t release any rates at all.
so how is it bug abuse if we don't know it's a bug?
Because once it becomes known than others can utilize the method for easily getting things that were not intended as such. That is the abuse when multiple people manipulate it and progress further compared to others.
how do you know we were not intended to get them easily if they didn't state the rate?
Trying to argue this is sad to be honest. Just play the game as it is intended and fairly for all.
on a technical level, it could be leaning more to a "oversight abuse" than explicitly "bug abuse", where it's seemingly higher rate than it should be expected by common sense for a rare component. (where previously, really only knightly was an exemption for easy to get ones)
so, it's debatable on semantics. the "abuse" aspect would depend on the general output compared to the players who wouldn't, and how much of a true advantage it would bring.
e.g. if it produced more tradable items, or items which generally cost more overall to get, then it can lead to more issues. but, if it's closer to a "this did not generate any meaningful output, but best to patch" it can lead to a case-by-case scenario.
at least you're self-aware
What world is dwarf trader world?
Back to y’all posting updates though on what you find for the best perks you make!
still in the end better to correct, and adapt to the general feedback after its fixed than argue semantics. if jagex does do anything against higher-profile variants of it (usually showcasing more intent to abuse the oversight) then it's a case-by-case thing.
does anyone have a good wild runes combo?
with extreme invention potion?
Without
what about the thieving perks?
1 3a 4 manu in a normal tool gizmo
at like lvl 30 inv
join me afking outside gwd cause this is still aparently the only way to lower invention
so its better to lower inv?
ok applies to ancient invention?
for obliv prosper
I got it with 4 or so manu parts in ancient gizmo at 120
whats the rate on that though
explosive + oblivious
oh
idk, i did 2 gizmos
this is for obliv prosper
Oh!
is there a use for obliv when i already have 99
200m is a thing
plenty of stuff stuns u at 99
whats worth on an iron?
New thieving content coming so props worth it even if 200m
peak ironman gaming, letting the snow slowly nuke my stats
id prob make the bag so i can afk menophite marketerrs harder
if u wanna comp u need 2 bags 2 rods
to own em after anyways
one bag can be t1 but the rod u hand in has to be the crystal one
t2 bags seem hard to upkeep on an early iron
dont think ud da em period lol
not really, no
they only nerfed necroplasm right, flatpacks still the same
ez
does/supposed to Careless work at Gate of Elidinis? was hoping for 100% success chance on mining in there, but first run had 2 splashes before swapping sides, so i don't think it works
i know Explosive specifically states core rocks, but Careless doesn't
Am i doing this right?
oblivious is thieving
magnificent
if doing abyss rcing with the new mainhand.. u gotta unequip wildy sword each time
thats a bummer i didnt think about
its only 1 extra click but i feel id forget it sometimes
isn't there an arch perk that sends you to the center anyway?
Does the wild runes perk work at the ourania altar?
u still tele to edge with the sword
ah
does anyone know if polishing works on animica -> primal ores?
Is there a combo for careless and tinker? Using the wiki rn and its a mess.
did u lower stats or use extreme invention?
extreme
1/39 for c5t1, 1/470 for c5t2
i would just stay rapid4 tinker4 or swap one of them out for a regular careless 5, but maybe there's better combos idk
yeah those mess it up since they can give other perks as well
How do you make the carved rod of pure essence?
iirc melt 100 of each elemental rune, and 20 pure ess, in a furnace. then carve it.
iirc?
if i remember/recall correctly
Thanks!
in the smelt menu, use the pure ess icon.
Feels like elemental metal would make for a nice binding rod
Non-3a
15% chance for Oblivious/Prosper at level 20
https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Perks#a%3D1%26l%3D20%26g%3D3%26m%3D81%252C81%252C81%252C81%252C81%252C78%252C78%252C27%252C27
Nice view
tysm!
heh buy one per one in 2025
is there set bis items to D/A for new components now or still figuring out post hot fix?
is it intentional that you can't upgrade the base binding rod after equipping it?
Seems silly that you would have to make a new one just to upgrade.
I mean it’s just Jagex at its best, release something and realize it’s wrong still.
Never understood why you have better odds at a perk the lower your invention level is.. seems kind of counter intuitive and less rewarding for others who level up
you have better odds of getting different perks at different levels
It's sadly just part of how things are calculated in the back. They have said they want to look at it, but that hasn't happened yet.
Surely it's a good reason to create EW5 with some kind of device that lets you set your invention level
I’m aware and it’s flawed lol
it literally isn't
How so? lol
It's definitely flawed. I should be rewarded for having a HIGHER level in a skill, not a lower level.
Exactly. It’s pretty simple logic lol
Congrats! You hit 120 invention! Now if you want certain perks you have to artificially lower your level that you just spent so much time on!
how would the game go about determining that the perk you actually want to get is flanking instead of enhanced efficient when using clockwork components in a weapon gizmo
and therefore give you the best odds at the highest level
Hmm, maybe somehow give you a choice if those two roll?
Idk.. make specific components for specific perks? And make the combos less complicated as well? ^thats a good option too
There are solutions, Vad. Don't pretend it's not stupid we have to lower our Invention level.
Point being there are better options than having to artificially nuke your invention level lol
both of those suggestions feel incredibly uninspired
Uninspired lol? I know I’m being trolled by a frog now 😂
Lol. Don't be mad that multiple people disagreed with you. Needing to lower your Invention level to get certain perks is incredibly stupid. I'm sure someone at Jagex can come up with a better solution, since that's their job. I don't get paid to develop this game.
leveling up your invention gives you a better chance at receiving certain perks right?
that means that at lower levels, you are by definition more likely to receive OTHER perks than the ones you get at 120
it just so happens the one you want is not the best chance at level 120
We understand how Invention works and we also understand that needing to lower your level is asinine.
anyways, it's not a problem
I feel a good amount of self esteem helps oneself from time to time lol
Is*
Children please
is there a meta for offcut comps
Maybe the solution is this: If you roll a perk at a higher level, but ALSO could have rolled for a lower level perk, you get a message stating, "You rolled for X perk, however, a lower level perk of Y is also available. Which perk would you like?" Then you aren't penalized for having higher Invention, but still have a chance at lower level perks if you want them. @hearty shale ^^^
Marble cape racks worked pretty good for me but expensive
I bought some Mahogany flatpacks.
guaranteed comps or nah?
Nothing is guaranteed in life. 😂
gg
Jk. Idk about marble stuff, but mahogany wasn't guaranteed.
Marble was
Buttt that was before hot patch like 3 hours ago. Didn’t know the powerful necroplasm was a thing and didn’t get to take advantage of that for the manufactured comps
classic early bird special strikes again
So only the oblivious perk works for the thieving mainhand?
For now - Prosper is intended to work as well but it's bugged atm
I see, ty
Although it would be Nice for more thieving perks
But the only ideas i have are only buffs
what abotu fortune
Do any of the artisan perks work for runecrafting?
any good mining combos kn own yet?
Can't I just keep my pickaxe in my invo and simply use explosive wielding the crystal binding rod?
best arch perk material combos known so far?
if I'm correct honed6/pres5 & hasty5/prosper?
i would like if the scrap perk would have levels/ ranks, like in rank 5 it gives 5 material when the material caches deplete, without it, it seems useless af, i would prefer just use imp souled
As far as I know you never need to discover anything to receive components from disassembly, the blueprints are only for the ability to use them in a gizmo
Ah. It's just hard to get them O_o
any thoughts on fortune 3 naturalist 3 for gathering?
are there any useful perks for the RC mainhand? the new RC perk is just bad. and the existing ones don't seem to trigger when RCing.
Is her “miniquest” required for anything other than comp cape? Doesn’t seem to me like it’s part of any core progression or anything like that
probably necessary when one type of comp can give 5 different perks - one of them would have best chance at high level invention and another at low level
Polishing
Yeah, I just checked her article. It's stupid. Not going to complete her BS.
Especially given the cost.
scavenging perk unless you're extremely rich
Like there should at least be the option for people who complete their shit to kill her.
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Polishing
I suppose I'm overreacting, but it seems like a very poor design decision to put an NPC who scams you in a place where it'd seem they'd give you something useful.
tbf that is exactly why her scam works 😂
really? hardly a gathering skill... also won't help me much as I doubt it can upgrade time runes 😛
Yeah, true. But it more seems like Jagex is pulling a scam that way considering the amount of resources needed to make the items.
she disappears after you give her both items
tbh it should hopefully teach players a bit as well in the process that not everything is what it seems.
it's effectively a "turn in for an achievement" but a nudge on how to get them made as an incentive.
you then can make another set for yourself.
it could* technically lead to more thematic dialogue in the future, but nothing is set in stone atm
who knows, maybe you'll see them again one day, ||since they seemingly know you||
There was a mention about a shady npc in the invention guild in last week’s news post. Any word on if this is in game?
-nods- Thats understandable. It's mostly the way the NPC is presented that I take offense to. If she'd been stuck in some unrelated corner of the world and not directly alluded to in a previous news post, it would have been fine.
But she was mentioned in a previous news post and put right in front of the guild. And yes, that's who were talking about. Don't bother with her unless you're chasing comps.
She's about as useful as the armor trimmers of yore
So there's no point in upgrading crafted stuff to +5 for manufactured comps correct?
You do get more components per dis that way. It's not straight 1:1 with logs, but if you're fletching eternal magics for XP, it's not that bad.
anyone know how much xp you get from the restored artifacts you get with preservationist perk?
the xp is unchanged, still the same xp you get for excavating a damaged artefact
alright, thanks
hey jagex, maybe having 5 different perk for manufactured component wasnt good balancing?
was it intended for the binding rod not to gain levels in the runespan? i feel like that doesnt make sense
read the examine
i mean the examine doesnt exactly mean its just alter though i feel like saying read the examine is kinda dumb since examines are usually like lore and such. i did examine it but i do not feel the not gaining exp in runespan makes any sense at all
ain't no altars in the runespan, are there?
"You think you could channel the power of altars to bind runes using this rod."
again the examine text doesnt usually play into game mechanics. i feel restrciting the binding rods to alters only is extremely stupid since most use the runespan anyways
i'm mostly pointing it out, because the intent seems pretty clear
maybe but not all the time
it could be a bug and an unintended effect we wont know unless the devs themselves say something which they havent
I mean the use case is pretty verbatim here.
but there could be a version for the runespan down the line.
a 5% rune increase doesn't apply in the runespan either due to them being single crafts at a time
why do that when they can just fix the binding rod to do that?
sure but the reality is why make more tools when they can just make an already existing item do that job. plus i think they really shafted runecrafting with this update and theiving as well perk wise
odd choice of words when it went from no support to some support
perk wise runecrafting got 1 perk in this update which is really dumb imo and not a good update
at the very least id have expected 3 or 4 perks for runecrafting and theiving
1 exclusive perk for the skill, but a few existing ones work with it
i agree it would be better to just make the binding rod work there too
without aura
even though i never even runespan
any reason for the coil?
i got tired of resetting the guards
ah ic ic
so i chose violence
any clue how many grapevine seeds/hour?
yeah but the point of the update was to add runecrafting and theiving based stuff which they did but it was very very negligible. sure we got the main hand augmented items but to only give 1 perk to runecrafting and 1 theiving perk is such a bad way to say we are gonna give you an update to invention by adding more perks and such and give runecrafting and theiving main hands but we are gonna shaft you all on the perks for runecrafting and thieving by only giving you 1 perk each it makes no sense
there's like 3 perk setups for runecrafting depending on what you want to use it for though?
ooo, that's nice! What are you doing for sustain?
3 compared to how many the other skills have though insane to me
well, give it time and more will be added
exc
excal by itself suffices? that's good to know, ty 👀
i mean id have much rahter had to wait a bit longer to get the full update than one that just seems lazy for a lack of better words. i feel if they put more time and effort and asked the community for perk ideas they would have easily been able to come up with better perks and the update would have been so much better
dont get me wrong i appreciate all the devs do but this update feels incredibly lack luster for runecrafting and thieving
well it was always intended to be small in scope
this isnt small its tiny
exactly
which of the perks have you tried so far
it feels more like a ninja hot fix than it did an actual update
because the ones i've done so far feel huge
i could have coded this shit in a DAY,
they added 1 "new" object, recolored another one, a few images for 2 new materials, and called it aday
i was looking forward to the runecrafting stuff but the fact 1) the rod doesnt level in runespan and 2) it doesnt have any perks to use in the runespan and 3) runecrafting and thieving both got shafted for perks in this update is honestly why i have such an issue with the update being called an update since it was supposed to focus on invention, theiving, and runecrafting it feels more like just a general update than a major one at this point. plus i feel like they could have easily come up with perks to use in the runespan
polishing doesn't work in the runespan then?
it honestly makes no sense for the rod to not level in the runespan since every other invention tool levels in its respective skill just by training said skill but the runecrafting one somehow doesnt
does the hammertron gain xp from smelting?
that seems incorrect since you don't 'hammer' when smelting ores
yes it does actually
hammertron gains exp when you smelt ores into bars its very minor exp but it does gain it
seems incorrect to me, but oh well
and some of the perks work with smelting too
i'd imagine that's in part for practical reasons
its why i said not letting the binding rod level in runespan is something that doesnt make sense
hammertron smelting is a good precedent for runespan rod, true
does the pyro-matic work when creating incense sticks though?
exactly thats why i said the binding rod should work with the runespan
hell binding rod should work with necro runes too but it doesnt
it does
i mean in terms of the new perk sorry should have calrified
the ourania altar perk?
the other perks work just fine
yeah or at the very least added a 2nd runecrafting perk for necro runes
hell they could have added at least 3 perks to runecrafting 1 runespan 1 necro rune and 1 normal runes
necro runes are already insanely fast lol and polishing is massive for it
yeah but the point is they could have added more perks for runecrafting and thieving instead of giving us just 1 each compared to the other 5 perks that work with the other skills which already had a lot of perks to use with them
over 90% of the update perk wise was for skills that already have perks to use. i honestly thought this update was to make sure runecrafting and theiving got the same level perk respect that the other skills have

where is this?
So careless+explosive is the best for exp but how much ore per hour do you lose out on without rockertunities? Has anyone gotten a place where the math was done on that?
rockertunities make a massive difference and also increase your xp
So honed + careless would probably still be the best for actual ore gathering then?
there are a lot of multipliers for rockertunities that things would depend on but i think clicking 1 rockertunity would be roughly comparable to like 30 swings boosted by explosive
as in, not the total damage done by those 30 swings but the increase from explosive in those 30 swings
for active mining i'd go honed with a combination of naturalist and careless probably
Rockertunities are what, 6x progress? How often (how many swings apart) do they spawn?
I wonder if careless+naturalist would be better for ore gathering… I guess it depends on how consistent honed is procing.
honed is always by far the best for resources gathered/hour
max multiplier is 8, spawn average every 10-12 swings id say
So for gathering I’ll need to create a new L&D with honed+careless
[[paradox]]
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Paradox
And careless+explosive for exp
lasts roughly as long as a rockertunity would take to spawn
it all works out pretty nicely together i think
Hasty+Preservationist+balarak brush seems like a no brainer for fastest artifact gathering for tetras.
so do we know whether careless works at gate yet?
Haven’t been able to get on to test it
It be great if it could help offset not quite getting a full ore each hit in south side so it’s even more chill.
what is the best perks for mining rn?
flint and steel
I love how we got punished for not logging in when the update went live
Classic jagex
what do you d/a for manufactured now?
whatd i miss
Probably a reference to necroplasm being changed to disassemble in batches of 20
Like right after patch, maybe couple hr
i bought 8k powerful necroplasm in my main and got like 74 manufactured comps, so i think its still in meta
what's powerful necroplasm going for r/n?
idk, i bought it 870 gp each 30 min ago
lets just say that before was xtremely good, thats why it got nerfed
Please at least look at the drain rate on the binding rod and crystal binding rod, the runecrafting tools introduced in this patch. Their drainrate is completely out of line with how much they charge per essence, with how much you end up crafting. Right now a crystal binding rod running through the abyss can be exceed 20k charge per hour. By comparison, an augmented mattock of space and time maxes out at 4387 per hour and is usually lower. This is wildly out of line with other tools, which have historically had a low drain rate. The runecrafting tool is one of the worst tools as far as perks go, so it truly makes no sense to nail this item with such a high drain rate.
Are there any plans to add more useful thieving perks? I feel like it got pretty neglected compared to runecrafting. No success chance increase? Honed could be added to it
Mfw the "rune crafting and thieving" invention update was more of an update for already existing perked skills 💀💀💀💀
Jagex are not sending their finest!
I was thinking the same, hurts to be on the otherside of the world. Oh well it is what it is but ouch
what are the bis arch perks for ironmen
i heard that honed 6 + preservionist is possible but rare af
200+ manu from less than 1k power necroplasm earlier
honed 6 pres 3 is good with 6 manu and 3 sharp
kinda important qn: will hasty ever proc on a spear tip/sash brush piece/staff piece
cause those are material rolls
I mean 110 thieving is the last 110 planned for this year so if we got some probably there.
what theiving perks are there?
just oblivious
?
It was something raised when we got closer to the launch date that the name was a bit off, it was called Augmented RC & T cause of the mainhands and we had to lock in the name back in like Jan/Feb cause it needed to be locked in for Runefest assets, if I was naming it closer to date it probably would have been something more "Invention Update: Skilling Perks" or something of that nature
That's fair, while you're here revisit rates on comps thanks beast 🤝
Rates are feeling alright atm, maybe furs needs a bit of a buff but we will see how the data looks after a little more time
what about buff talisman rates?
It's still disappointing to get only one perk that specifically helps with thieving. Even if 110 is planned
Any word on explosive apparently still getting rockertunities?
Has anyone math'd whether its better to keep rapid or tinker to combo with careless5 prosper
depends on what you're smithing and how. faster items like gloves/boots which remain at high heat for longer will benefit more from tinker, as rapid will crater your heat super fast, even if you're using autoheater and/or superheat prayer. if you're active, rapid always wins, same if you're smithing bulkier pieces like platebodies where heat will definitely be hitting 0 heat early in the process.
careless is bis tho that much is sure, +50% progress is unbeatable
14x with pb of opportunity at primal ores, 7x without
even better hasty combo lfg
oh huh
that seems to be pretty low chance
there's a better hasty prosper but it needs clockwork (on wiki now)
holy hell 20k charge per hour is insane
Is it known, whether Prosper will work for Thieving as well?
Eventually yes - it's currently bugged so it doesn't but they're working on it ^^
Thanks 😊 That is awesome!
any naturalist combos?
for wc and fishing esp
will honed be useful for rc?
no idea, sorry, I haven't played around with the update yet
i see
there's a bunch on the wiki now https://runescape.wiki/w/Naturalist
RuneScape Wiki
Naturalist is a perk in Invention that grants +0.5% chance per rank to gain a random skill specific buff on gather, lasting 60 seconds. The buffs are:
Woodcutting, overgrown idols buffs
Increased cut rate
XP boost
Additional log
Log banking
Success rate
Fishing, deep sea fishing buffs
10% bonus catch rate
10% chance to gain extra catch
5% XP bo...
the cheap easy options are Nat 5 or Nat5/Scraps
other combos are pricier
oh Nat 5/Fort 2 is ok too
there's prob a furnace combo somewhere
doesn't seem to combo with prosper cheaply
hmm, found one without 3rd age but chance kinda low
you would expect irons to go for h6p nat5fort2 and mainscapers to go nat5x furn4prosper, right?
for what skill
I can't imagine sacrificing Honed for Naturalist, though I'm not that sure how effective Nat is
the skill where you might drop honed is mining, but you'd replace it with careless (there's an careless/nat combo but the nat is more a bonus)
hmm didnt know mains cared about honed, i thought they just used it because there's no more xp perks other than wise. i guess you could get nat5h2 but you're right
Honed affects gather success for wc and fish
so that directly affects both loot and xp
lmao okay mb i had it in my head that honed works like it does for mining for all skills
Any idea which are best perks for croesus and gate of elidnis now, i have 200m xp so Im not xp focused?
Should be Honed 6 + Careless 5/Naturalist 5
omit Careless for wc/fish
Naturalist can proc in the encounters
honed isn't good for gate
right yeah you can skip it and just have Careless + Nat on separate gizmos (assuming you're mining the big rocks)
but it means that pick is only doing Gate
nice
Got a video/image of it occuring?
the only location i recall players saying an ore specifically was banite. (i think its considered a core ore?)
but i seen some confusion where people did non-core ores like shards of elli's nodes (which wouldn't work by intention bc non-core)
If you don't care about catching fish (Croesus Front), isn't Furnace 4 better than Naturalist ?
No
Furnace doesn't work at croesus anyway
Prosper has been hotfixed to function with RC and Thieving mainhands
w00t
Not the encounter itself, but I train at the Colonised Guards
any word on if they are thinking of nerfing dwarven traders
https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/1kl7xqy/crystal_binding_rod_has_a_much_larger_charge/ Is this a known issue?
Was dwarven traders fixed?
I got 1kc little sus so I'm self-banned from doing any Croesus, so a Gate-only pick is probably pretty niche but relevant to my interests
does explosive get rid of geodes?
been mining primal for 45 mins with explosive/refined2 and my otherwise normal previous set up (perfect juju, etc.) and have received 0 geodes. idk if this is intended (was never stated) or a bug with explosive
it doesn't. was just weird/bad rng
Anyone know the best way to drain Invention level for Oblivious/Propser ?
stand outside gwd1 entrance
bring excalibur and maybe 3-4 pieces of food. once you hit your desired level tele out to wars as the ongoing stat drain will interrupt your gizmo interface
Thank you, Wiki says I need to drop to level 19 in order to have the best chances
if you just want oblivious and don't care what other perk is there (i.e. you're not going for Oblivious+Prosper) then just do this. cheap and doesn't require draining to lvl 18
not much point using this combo now that there's one without 3rd age that has a decent rate
This one ?
yeah
fair enough. can't keep track of all the gizmo changes so I hadn't seen this one. makes sense to use this instead
Yeah, best combos evolve rapidly since the update is still recent
100%. I just wish they had repurposed some old components a bit better
right now there's 8 or so new perks, almost all of which use some combo of offcut and manufactured. so by changing 1 of those comps for another or changing position you can go from naturalist to wild runes to explosive to hasty and so forth. makes this process super confusing and irritating.
Right now, I only watch for Oblivious, Explosive. Hasty may be good too (unless you need damaged artefact for XP). But Naturalist doesn't seem great for fishing : 5% change to get a 10% chance double fish vs Furnace 4 that gives me 20% to consume 2nd fish for xp
yeah I'm really not sure how naturalist fits in to all this yet. in places like ghostly soles as you mentioned furnace may just be better for xp. for deep sea swarm if you want to keep fish then naturalist is nice but what do you have to replace it with. plus the catch rate is (s)low at deep sea fish swarm so you won't get many naturalist procs anyway.
currently testing explosive and careless perks. explosive/refined2 was easy to make and has been nice so far for those of us that want geodes. will have to go for explosive/carless next and see if careless is indeed fine for afk primal ore
Naturalist is decent in part because the competition is pretty weak
for fishing and wc
I currently AFK at Croesus Front (Guards, Shark outfit eats the Algae) and Furnace is better than the chance Naturalist would give me.
yeah if you're going for xp use furnace
but for me I always avoid furnace
naturalist can also proc in croesus/gate which is cool
Yeah, Furnace for XP, but at 200m I might switch to Naturalist
swear I'm going crazy, can't find this spot. where the heck in Keldagrim?
Keldagrim is underground. Dwarves story line. LOTD has a teleport option
what are you looking for in Keldagrim?
I know lol, meant the exact spot he had screenshotted
this one
this is the 2nd floor of the dwarven consortium (or whatever it's called). it's the large building that connects east and west keldagrim. this is where dwarven traders are located
yeah I just realized that, looks different with my settings
tele via lotd and enter giant building to your east then go up one flight of stairs and you're there. he's in the center room.
or take minecart from grand exchange, go north and west into building, up one flight of stairs and you're there.
yeah that screenshot has a weird skybox and i think the highlight thing is high contrast mode or something? (not entirely sure)
To start investing in new perks now, or do I wait for potential nerfs/tweaks/changes 🤔
new perks are semi cheap atleast the basic none comboed versions
Was prosper actually fixed for thieving? Did 2 hours without a single proc
Is Hasty 5 + Preservationist 5 a better choice than Imp Souled for Arch?
it all depends what is your goal and your playstyle, and especially if u are main or iron
if u want xp and get a lot of artifacts (being a main) i wouldnt care about preservationist perk
My goal will be to 200m Arch, so I guess it's better to use Imp Souled then. I wonder if using Hasty will make that you get too many artefacts ans not enough materials to restore them without buying materials on GE
in general u always be lacking of materials for your artefacts (im an ironman with more than 400m arch xp), is on you if u want to farm those material or just buy them form ge
if u can buy the material i suggest hasty, if no, just use imp souled
I saw ppl get it
chance is 1/2560 so pretty low
buying mats on GE is usually profitable for a main
relative to chronote value
iirc invention comp value was higher than that
I do like having a better profit margin though so I think I'll still use preservationist
Yeah I guess it works. Finally got one lol
I assume if you get pked they want you to lose the crystal binding rod? to keep invention mat costs up maybe? I just spent 20mins making one, then lost it within another 20. I'm just like.. alright
Have yall had naturalist trigger? Mining over 4 hours with over 2000 light animica collected and nada
i think yall are not really understanding what this update was. The reason that it was advertised as thieving and runecrafting was simply because they were finally getting items to augment for the skills. You should really just think of it as a skilling invention update.
should i "think" of it differently, or should it be worded and delivered differently?
who's truly at fault
i mean both if you want to blame anyone? Theres no reason to blame, theres a pretty valid reason for a company to market it this way, and we all saw what was coming when they announced all the additions and realized only 3-4 perks actually work with the skills. Gotta learn how to manage expectations
are you using porters
currently it doesn't work with porters
likely a bug, apparently this affected gim tasks too or something
Yeah porters. Ok so its just bugged. I was about to say - ive gotten several prosper and 4 hours not one naturalist. Makes sense
would it be possible for elite dungeons relics to drop offcut components? I used a really big pile of them and got 0 out of them
There are very, very few items that are [[kept on death]] in dangerous pvp
Wiki links found:
https://runescape.wiki/w/Items_Kept_on_Death
(If any?)
Okay, I stand corrected, if I’m reading this right there are a couple thousand of them, but they’re mostly mtx/event stuff, tokens, arch pages that you destroy anyway, etc. https://runescape.wiki/w/Special:Search?limit=500&ns0=1&offset=0&search=insource%3Aalwaysinclwild
But not exclusively, and definitely a lot more than I thought
So are protean essence not supposed to work with crystal rod or is it bugged like prosper?
Yeah just felt weird to have new essence pouch be kept but not this other item. Oh well
Is it known whether Careless and Explosive affect things like crit damage and damage bonus from familiars like a lava titan? As in, does the % boost stack with everything?
they would work together yes. idk if its additive or multiplicative (im sure its additive tbh). lava titan adds a 10 damage regardless of those perks existing
As in, you would expect a 226 hit to turn into a 248 with careless 5, then get the +140 crit damage added after that?
they either add up like that OR it can apply after one or the other
so 100 mining damage + explosive would be 120
then add the 10 from lava
tbh idk the exact scenario but we do know it adds in a way
wait are you talking about whether careless and explosive work together?
i was mostly wondering whether they affect the additional crit damage at all but sounds like either no or we don't know
referencing this. I could have misunderstood your statement as a whole.
it does benefit just dont know the exact amount and the exact way
Any news on why the mushroom bag doesn’t work for the trim achievement but u do need the upgraded rod?
Makes no sense whatsoever and it’s not the first time this has happened
what are the chances to get a little buff for new rare perks combinations?:D
I'm glad to see rune crafting getting some attention, but I have to admit that wild runes perk is really not that enticing.
When you compare the steep cost of the augmented binding Rod, with the small proc chance, and that it creates a loss on all good runes, and is marginally useful even on air runes...
There's no use case where I'd find Wild Runes worthwhile
its legit only good for sub 100 rc irons to make time runes for the week
and even then, i think you can make 60 at ourania before it would proc
🤣
have to agree, even in ironman mode, it's very underwhelming. an hour of active abyss+air runes with maximum multipliers ended up like this:
and that's at 110 (+extreme potion, if that matters for the ourania distribution). even in its "most broken" form, it's nothing to write home about
yep. very upsetting
needs a rework or the proc chance needs a buff, or have it scale to give more catalytic than elemental based on rc level or something
idk
in its current state, it's pretty bad
where are the bloods? did you not do the quest for the altar?
LOL fair question. the quest wouldn't matter, as the ourania effect would ignore that, i just forgot to include them (or they were in the next row of inventory, idk). i had it spreadsheeted tho, it was 970 bloods
also not included were 29 abyssal runic synapses, since you can't even fit that in a single invent
. since everybody wants to build 29 more masterwork staves after just one hour of RCing
i see haha
I definitely agree with a rework of Wild Runes tbh
I was rerolling perks earlier that had Wild Runes when I was trying to make a Polishing 4 perk.... Because I'd lose money runecrafting with a binding Rod that has Wild Runes on it
If it granted you runes of only higher tiers, or more runes when a high level one gets switched for a low level one, or something
I personally like the idea of wild runes as a niche I just think it needs 3x the proc rate
I would agree with that. It's slightly annoying to deal with in the perk calc but now that there's been enough experimentation we've got decent combos that exclude it when unwanted
but the perk idea itself is cool and does have some use
Thanks friend
has anyone seen any naturalist proc with mining yet? could it be bugged? with fishing I put nat5 on my crystal rod and it works fine, about 4-5 procs per hour
with mining, I have nat4careless4 and so far did not get a single proc in several hours at novite, runite, shooting star and concentrated gold
are you using porters
there's a (likely) bug rn that it doesn't work with porters
same problem for me
I thought maybe when it doesn't trigger on xp gain but only upon ore gain,it would have less procs but I tried at lower ores too where almost every swing gives ore, still nothing
at concentrated gold yes, at the others I didn't
hmm idk then
I will try with copper and tin, guaranteed ore upon every swing
when it doesn't proc upon getting 150 ores, I'll consider it bugged
update: got one proc at copper and one at tin and also one at iron ore, not using porters but having premier artefact porter buff and shooting star sprite buff active (so apparently these don't cause issues - though the nat procs were never at the same time premier porter activated)
does anyone know of a combo for honed 6 prosper without 3a?
Yeah turning off porters and using ore box it finally worked on mining. I think the bug is porters because on my hatchet it wouldn’t proc until I turned off GOTE. But then naturalist did proc with Always Adze relic woodcutting.
it's not possible at a reasonable rate
it's like, 1/2k rate, 2b cost
prosper is possible from 2+ timeworn comps, rapid 4 needs 7+ enhancing or shifting so rapid4prosper is possible without 3a
tinker might be easier to combine though, only 6+ clockwork needed for tinker4
could try 6 clockwork+ 3 timeworn
these are both normally 3rd age. I know that there's no reasonable Rapid 4/Prosper combo without 3a (even the one with 3a is ridiculous post nerf)
Tinker I'm less sure but not finding anything good with experimentation (best I got is a 1/678 2b combo)
@proud pollen can you check this
Careless 5/Prosper is the one that's doable without 3a for smithing (on wiki). still costs quite a bit
Unfortunately there are no realistic non-3a configurations for Rapid4Prosper, the highest chance is ~0.009%.
Tinker4Prosper is doable, but still on the pricy side. 3.20% chance at level 19 https://runescape.wiki/w/Calculator:Perks#g%3D3%26l%3D19%26a%3D1%26m%3D78%252C50%252C78%252C50%252C50%252C50%252C50%252C50%252C50
What perks are you guys going to use on your binding rods?
Polishing 4, Prosper and I saw someone mention Hording 2 which is really smart if using the demonic skull
If you want a 2nd rod for wild runes you can but i dont think its worth it
atm
hoarding doesn't work in pvp, plus necessitates constant prayer restoration to work due to abyss drain
ah see i literally never even knew about hoarding until yesterday xd
Was really hoping Prosper on the Pickpocketing bag would've surpassed the clue scroll rate via Smithing.
I've put Oblivious + Propser on Thieving Bag. You need 5x Manufactured, 2x Timeworn, 2x Evasive and to drop your Invention level to 19
There's a different (better) version now, basically all perk combos are on wiki atm
okay they nerfed the dwarves
More damage? Or less xp
Neither, they're not nerfed (yet)
Is it op because the DMG is so low so even 3x doesn't matter
Yeah. For reference: a Crux Knight deals ~1100 dmg on hit with oblivious. Arguably that's on the high side, but dwarf traders are just laughably low.
Wiki says 10, so 30? Lol
Yup
And yeah the knight hurts
What are people’s thoughts on preservation? IMO it’s a bit too low of a proc. Maybe making it 1.5% per rank or even 2% per rank would be more ideal.
I like it. It's okay for high level hot spot gathering. It's very powerful at the level 5 spot already. Only gripe was that the newspost that featured it said it would speed up guild rank ups, which isn't true as they don't count for collection logs or restored arts (typically the longest req for guildmaster).
i think it should get a better chance to obtain alongside other good perk, like honed6/pre5
Dwarves will be fixed on Monday, they will do level appropriate damage, bring some food/brews to chew on
well, it was fun while it last
give someone an inch they'll ask for a mile
preservationist is arches best relic
Able to tell us what damage they’ll be if its decided so far? People have started using ice aslyum to heal others while there and i think as long as the dmg is reasonable then its a p cool way to make community thieving a bit better
Their damage will have a similar formula as other pickpocketing targets, I would assume the closest comparable pickpocketing target would be Iorwerth Workers who need 91 thieving while dwarf traders need 90
elite combat trained elven clan workers who specialise is melee and slayer
iirc iowerth workers don't deal damage on failure haha
so perhaps not the most salient comparison
vs angry dwarf who noticed someone taking their gold
Can it be noted as them leveling up due to doing a lot of punching instead of being a balance change.
You’d have to ask Lea what it is that makes her interested in those specific items, I’m sure she has her reasons.
any chance can upgrade a used theiving bag/binding rod to the upgraded version instead of a new one?
Should be an insta kill if caught by a dwarf
heard that Naturalist might have gotten hotfixed to not work on Croesus/Gate? someone removed it from the wiki due to not getting procs
if anyone has recent evidence to the contrary I'll restore it
Poor Keldagrim, the city has received zero love in years.
And now players are coming back to the city, you decide to nerf the place.
hello Azanna, quick question regarding the runecrafting part of the update, with the rod taking the wildy sword space, now its a switch situation between the rod and wildy sword, any plans on issuing thiis?
Why would they? There's alternatives
You can use Glory amulets or passage of the abyss, there's probably more
brother relax lol, its not even a nerf to xp its a nerf to the ability to literally not play the game and get free xp
reclaim a wildy sword 1, you can action bar it to equip and tp with just double clicking your keybind
Will you be going back to the city?
I never went to begin with lol
Is this good?
Spent 500 silent comps and still couldn't get Preservationist 5/Honed 6
it's pretty good yeah
honed only affects getting materials for arch, so losing one rank isn't going to be that bad and the preservationist combo probably more than offsets that
Sweet
Idk keldagrim invention table is the closest one to a teleport so i definitely use it
But the current dwarf dmg is just laughable and insanely unbalanced
Hey, just a quick tip for using willy sword. If you put it in your inventory (only 1 less ess per run is worth it) and double tap it you will tp as quickly as if it was equipped. Then you just reload your preset and no problems persist. Hope it helps!
This look good for ggg1 tetras?
how high is it going to be?
so I'd assume 50 + 3% of current life points or so. up from traders being... 10.. (same as a 36 thieving cave goblin)
at least that could be a minimum assumption point
there's a fair bit of mobs that could be adjusted tbh. https://runescape.wiki/w/Thieving#Thievable_non-player_characters some are just base damage, some are base+percentage.
RuneScape Wiki
Thieving is a members-only support skill that allows players to obtain coins and items by stealing from market stalls, chests, safecracking, or by pickpocketing or blackjacking non-player characters (NPCs). This skill also allows players to unlock doors and disarm traps.
The current minimum requirement to be ranked (at approximately rank 830,65...
Haven't seen it trigger with mining. See it very often with wc
currently bugged with porters afaik
ty
if using porters, it won't trigger at all apparently, but without porters, I've had a few procs at copper, tin and iron but never at primal, animica or concentrated gold (which I wouldn't want to do without porters anyway)
(Sorry I would put this in the farming strike thing but it’s locked) I’ve just noticed that clean and grimy kwuarm look almost identical which could be problematic
would it? normally your herbs tab only has one or the other
mine has both
i farm kwuarm which gives clean from my outfit, but slayer mobs drop grimy which i dont clean until im ready to use
mushroomy bag is bugged I can siphon it once using my mech siphon with only crystal tool siphons in and then it tells me when I use a crystal tool siphon on the mushroomy bag that you need a crystal tool siphon to siphon a crystal tool - confusing - I dont understand why upgrade the bag and not give it higher invention tier xp like the upgraded rod o matic or divine o matic
I see. normally I don't get that many from slayer so I clean those immediately (or herb bag for the few unnoted ones)
gotta save that bank space
it gives me 540k when I siphon but my crystal toolbox gives 621k
crystal siphon siphons crystal tools at lvl 90
Enhanced invention tools siphom at 80
everything else is 70
well the bug anyway if you only h ave crystal tool siphons in mech siphon it will siphon the mushy bag once you reach target level once, thereafter the bag will not be siphoned unless you also have equipment siphons in mech siphon and that will carry on siphoning for you
the bag exceeds target level everytime with only crystal tool siphons for me in mech siphon until I add equipment siphon
vyres
does Naturalist trigger at Gate of Elidnis?
ppl said it did before, but then someone else tried a bunch and didn't get procs. it could have been hotfixed or maybe they were just unlucky
Wow i really gotta read this thread when it post. I just found out about the dwarf nerf, wish i started training it right away!
thanks man! great tip 🤛🏼
That seems like the correct behavior
If it does work once, that would be the bug (and I’m curious how something like that would happen)
Lol they are quick to nerf traders yet the mushroomy bag is still broken.
The 5% chance to speed up pickpocketing only works on the initial click for pickpocketing, after that you never roll for it again
in this case the traders are more a fix than a nerf
they ARE doing substantially less damage than they should compared to other thieving targets
and players suddenly PPing them in bulk highlighted that problem, which is why it's getting fixed so late
Oblivious is going to need to be looked at after the dwarf trader changes because if not it's going to be dead content at launch almost,
The reason it's so good at dwarf traders is because you don't get 1 shot in like 30s, I've tried it at other places and you don't last long at all, so what even is the point of using it
I mean, traders are only getting the nerf on monday
we don't know what else is getting fixed on monday
Cause visibility of an issue helps speed up it getting fixed, I have seen massive amounts of chatter and reports about dwarf traders, yours is the first report I have personally seen of the bag not working as expected
makes total sense to me. everyone was talking about the insane dwarf xp, but the 5% bug is just not something you would really notice. i never would have known if not for some random reddit post, even though i've used the bag quite a bit already
the xp is not what's being changed really, but still
seems like due to oblivious I'm just never getting logged out at Dwarf Traders
was going to set a timer to remember to click, didn't, still logged in 45 minutes later lol
what about oblivious ignoring the log out timer? might be nobody wants to report it lol
Not to mention like the mods are saying the nerf is ONLY damage. The xp has always been this way and will stay this way so everyone crying about it are the ones that want to get 200m xp in 1 click
i had reported the bit about the mushroomy bag only working on initial pickpocket as soon as I found out about it ingame (yesterday). I'm not a paid QA so I'm not out here testing every single thing added to the patch haha, can only discover these bugs so quickly. should I duplicate every bug submitted in the weekly update threads, the bug reports channel, and other social medias?
