F2P/P2P balance idea for wood spirits and boxes

Wooden boxes should work like ore boxes holding more than one log but have it set so it holds tiers below not all logs for example:

Reg wooden box - holds only reg logs
Oak wooden box - holds reg and oak logs
Willow wooden box - holds reg, oak and willow.

Max tier for F2P should be here due to being able to cut yew logs.

Wood spirits - no way to obtain other than nests/Grand exchange, meaning Ironman f2p cannot obtain them and p2p irons have very little way of obtaining.

They should be added to drop tables for f2p this can be done via goblin wood raids, similar style mining raids drop stone spirits.

Another way is obtaining they should be added to skilling bosses as they are skilling resources.

I am able to store regular,oak, and willow logs in a f2p willow box already

Strange wiki says different to that. Shows willow box only allows willow logs

Yeah when you upgrade the the wood box, the previous logs can be stored in the wood box. I can confirm willow wood box can store Regular to willow logs.

I agree wood spirits need to be obtained in f2p, bosses make sense, even having a new summon for example an idea termite as gathering source would be cool.

The one that made sense to me was goblin raids as stone spirits drop via the mine raids so would make sense if the wood raids drop them

Wouldn't impact the cost of them as much as it wouldn't be large sums dropping

Ok i just got a confirmation from JMod. Teak, maple and acadia tree will become f2p after the game jam project.

So woodbox upto acadia is happening. no plans for mahogany and yew trees. It is out of scope for now.

cool, i am more worried about yew tree and logs, f2p uses in so many instances. So it would be backlash to make the logs p2p. Bow can stay P2P, which I agree for that.

Yes Would be strange for yew going p2p seeing as it's across the whole map in f2p for them

And it removes another option from evil trees for F2P leaving only regular, oak, willow, maple

Yes i agree, yew logs is used in boss, goblin raids, evil tree, war's retreat campfire and hard lumbridge acheivement. Remove yews out of it, make a lot of thing render useless.

This suggestion somewhat aged well, however storing wood spirits is still locked behind P2P and talking to Mod Stu and Breezy recently, they will stay that way unfortunately, due to the 'uniqueness' of both Mining and Woodcutting.

How do wood spirits. contribute any significant uniqueness to these skills? lol its the same mechanic used in gathering skill. they are virtually the same skill only with a different skin. claiming to not going to add it to f2p because of uniqueness is such a lame excuse just to spite F2p community.
