Please review this concept and the information within to further understand my talking point....

This skill will feed off of the Firemaking and Smithing skill primarily, I believe this addition whether it is added as a skill or addition to the firemaking skill will prove to be a very beneficial tool to those who are always on the move and don't have the patience or time to always tele back to a city or town. The smithing for this will be ONLY base level smithing, not specialty smithing that requires a special forge location. I hope that would keep the balance and not make this abused or over-powered. The more you level up your camp, the more types of smithing you can do, but never special crafting.

It will also add a level of immersion into the game for players who like to get lost in living in the world.

As I stated in the image I understand that its is a crude rough draft and not very refined, but I believe with a little help from the community in its refinement, I believe this will be a massive addition to RuneScape in the long run. With that said, I also think this would be a beneficial addition for OSRS without ruining immersion or other gameplay mechanics.

Would definitely be a neat idea. Firemaking needs something!

i can understand if the camp you set up has a container like a bank but you can only store specific items for the campsite that would be cool

Support for the premise, but could use some refinement to work out what the mechanics would involve.

Some next questions could be, (with my suggested direction):

**• Could players build these camps anywhere? **
(Yes, with a cooldown, and only one person's camp per 6x6 tile radius, each person can only construct up to one camp at a time in one world at a time, it remains for 60 mins before needing to be rebuilt or repaired to continue it)

• What is the list of features that the camps have, and what levels would they require?
(80 FM - campfire that boosts HP 20% more than bonfires currently do)
(90 of the required skill + 90 FM + 90 Construction + 90 Crafting - portable skilling stations at construction hotspots within the camp)
(95 Crafting + 95 Construction + 95 FM - Portable bank chest)

• What are the costs of using the camp, if any?
(Frames of High tier wood used to build and repair all hotspot objects, they last for 60 mins before needing to be repaired or rebuilt using 5 Magic Frames for campfire, 10 Magic Frames for skilling hotspots, 20 Elder Frames for portable bank chest)

**• What EXP would be gained by using the camps? **
(Passive Construction XP equivalent to 10% of Fort Building usage of frames, plus equal XP to Firemaking and Crafting)

• What separates camps from the portable skilling stations that are already used in game?
(Using a camp skilling station gives a doubled (20%) chance to activate the station effect, stacking additively with Brooch of the Gods for 30% chance to activate the station benefit)

**• Could people use other people's camp facilities, making them into a social environment like portables? **
(Yes, this is an intended purpose)

• Would there be any net-new capabilities offered by camps that do not currently exist within firemaking?
(No, the benefits are improved skilling stations, more HP boost, and more access to portable facilities, and access to banking in remote areas at a reasonably high cost)

I would love for it to be considered doable and worth while, also fun. The most important part of it is being useful while fun at the same time.

If at a dead end where to start the content, I believe have a mini-quest extension from Fort Forinthry would be doable, like Bill could issue it or something with his wild ideas type attitude. (Give Bill his damn Pub already!!!)

Utilizing supplies from the fort to make the camping kits would be very satisfying while giving you more to do at the fort.

# iron berry yea like an ore box it being a bank and you being able to set up a full on bank ...

Like I said, there is room for improvement. I believe even just a deposit box would suffice. However allowing all other players to access this bank from "your' campsite would not be indefinitely broken as it relies on the privacy of the campsite owner. At the same time, it would be a social aspect because people could do trade runs from campsites too..

Also yes, I do not want them being set up in cities or in towns.

so where again I understand the intention attempting to achieve, I do not feel this fits appropriately into Gielinor Lore wise nor would it serve great vs what we already have Portables.

I also cannot see why this would be a useless skill and not simply just Invention Created Items IF considered.

Can you elaborate why this would need to be a seperate skill in itself?

#

like theoretically I can see how this would be visually appealing, but limitation wise It would be extremely straining and would also make it extremely frustrating to players attempting to skill in high trafficked areas which majority of players in RuneScape attempt to min-max. I understand not all do, but the comparison to those who do and those who do not the game is dramatically out weighing.

This would have massive issues with placements, additionally would see a lot of complications for unnecessaries or directly competing with MTX rewards such as Portables, which are optimally superior since multiple users can utilize the benefits of such portable in a group collective, in a highly trafficked area vs what your proposing is for the 2 minute distance space away from everything since there isn't very much space as is outside of these regional areas.

Well Jagex is already rolling down on the MTX as it is. That said, I made a proposition to see if it would work as a skill or a perk to another skill. You could fit it into Invention, Crafting, Firemaking, Woodcutting if needed. It's realistically no different than placing a fire down.

However as I have stated above, it will need to have limited space and number of them in one area. If you leave the immediate area within a set distance, your camp will despawn.

It hasn't rolled down though; its ramped up since the poll.
but It was also mentioned that no changes would occur to treasure hunter for minimum of a year and they wouldn't be even addressing any discussions towards the MTX because theres still no declaration of any changes to come to MTX until a year from now to even be discussed further.
