I don't buy keys myself period simply just don't be so osessed over keys. there is zero need to do any mtx events at all

Then why thumbs down?

#

This would prevent you from taking part in any mtx transactions

#

You would be able to partake by using your daily keys that you recieve on a daily anyways.

Getting cool new skins

Guess people rather buy their keys for cosmetics. To be rich.

it's mostly like

given a choice between more gameplay-impacting MTX and cosmetic MTX, the latter is obviously preferable, and therefore I think most of us are fine with Jagex squeezing the pips from the whales who buy cosmetics

#

since if you can't get a cosmetic, it just... doesn't matter?

Thats a personal opinion on the portion it doesn't matter. Some players don't have a nice skin yet. Thankfully I have my smurf theme since the beginning.

#

Cosmetics is part of Fashionscape

#

Let the whales spend their money on th's with rares in them lol

What's the suggestion here

#

Move cosmetics to the Marketplace's Spotlight?

Fixed price for cosmetic in runecoins instead of being random on TH promos would be better

see the problem here is that treasure hunter, as distasteful as it is, exists because the executives at Jagex want some form of MTX in this game. And having that be via cosmetics which only affect what your character looks like and don't affect your ability to succeed in this game is possibly one of the least objectionable forms of MTX there is. Just saying "you shouldn't put these in TH" without offering a different MTX solution is a bit like ignoring the reality of capitalism.

#

I don't like it, but I'd rather have this format than "chance to win first necromancer gear off TH"

#

fixed price in runecoins would also work, but there's a reason they moved away from that model. Probably because the th coins made them more money

If you want Treasure Hunter gone, you gotta go through the government to ban RWT loot boxes.

some of us play a gamemode that turns Treasure Hunter offline. Yes treasure hunter is predatory and its terrible and bad for the game however people buy into it. Thats why it exists and those people that pay have decided its a worthwhile addition. Thats why OSRS does not have it because game would die overnight

#

The've tried Solomon Store but FOMO sells the most. They probably checked many data surrounding this and seen what generates the most money and picked that until it stops doing that

#

The coolest stuff you wear in any game in eyes of game's community is never gonna be something you swiped a credit card for so don't worry about that.
It's about what your own enjoyment and if u really like that MTX outfit you do what u want with ur money but personally I never felt like I have to buy it

And also, non cosmetic items in th is met with such rage and fury and quitting by the userbase... no. I already lost my dungeoneering partner to the halloween event's MTX for good buff itemness, but fortunately Jagex seems to have learned their lesson for the christmas event. Don't tell them to switch back to the MTX level that made people quit

I'm not sure what the suggestion here is. There seems to be a base complaint about treasure hunter promotions involving cosmetics but there doesn't seem to be a suggested course of action to take.

The suggestion seems to be scrap treasure hunter, or don't put cosmetics in treasure hunter. But people hated what treasure hunter was before it became cosmetic prizes only

#

Like so many people hated squeal of fortune (treausre hunter 1.0) that thry literally voted to have the npc that ran it put into the game so they could kill him. That is how much hatred there was.

#

Is osrs making enough money to justify taking away treasure hunter entirely, in the hopes that this will cause an osrs equivalent boost in numbers? I'm not sure

#

Certainly the jagex corporate level doesnt seem to think so or they'd have authorized killing it before now
