#Modernize Champion Challenges D&D

Make it so you can get challenge scrolls in a sane amount of kills.
I've only been hunting Hobgoblins since its been what I have had left for over 10 years now. Tried again and went another 100k kills dry so I'm just tired of it. I thought I might have the champion and went to explore and the area just looks so outdated now. Its a bit disappointing.
If you want a laugh, remember that it can be reset with weekly tokens.
Extending it I'm okay with
0 reason to make it any easier
Making it take ages isn't making it harder, it's making it more tedious.
Most other time gated stuff gets away with it because the time passes even while you're doing other things, you just fiddle with it once every so often. This requires you to park at shit mobs for weeks and possibly months on end.
I would be fine with BLM if it was set to something ala 20k kills, just the bare minimum to prevent more 70k+ kill horror stories, but that's as far as that should go
The actual fighting of the champions could use some love, graphically update the arena, make you have to go through less annoying dialogue with Larxus just because you forgot one tiny thing when swapping loadout to fight a different champion, or maybe laxing on the strictness of what you're allowed to have in your inventory so fighting different champions consecutively is less of a headache
Rewards wise, make fighting the champions a weekly D&D you wanna go out of your way for to do each week, that is all
With no guarantee of getting progress even after all that time.
I've always felt that this whole thing had serious potential for expansion, but if it takes months of tedium to get just one challenge scroll it'd be wasted effort.
BLM makes a lot of sense for champ scrolls
couldn't care less about the graphics and I don't think it's good enough content that expanding it makes sense
if it's possible to change the 'time on floor' variable for a single item I'd cause them to only despawn after an hour when dropped by a monster
Yes and its an optional activity. If its too long of a grind you don’t have to do it
i dont think it needs a BLM. You can get each champion's scroll in a few hours. If you really want to farm them, you wont need much time...
Only time BLM should be implemented is in the event of a holiday or timed event. All other aspects of the game shouldn’t have BLM.
@eternal sail I've spent over 50 hours at minimum for Hobgoblins thinking I might get lucky again. If I could do a quick chat of kills, I'm confident I am somewhere over 200k+
Literally my last one that I have been missing for over 10 years.
okay, might be. There could be a guaranteed drop after ~50k kills?
but no enhanced chance after every certain amout of kills
I mean I am fine with that, I had the same issue with a Sceptre of the Gods and finally got that one recently because of the BLM now. There has to be some point where you should be able to get it. There's plenty of folks that are super lucky, lucky, on rate, and unlucky but there's few like me who have gone super unlucky and we can't really complain since other folks were just luckier than us even if the numbers/hours we spend are 10x past the drop rate.
for what it's worth you're (almost certainly) not, the chance of running that dry on a champion scroll is approximately one in 42 quadrillion
still feels shit by 10k though, and 22k (my driest) felt utterly terrible
I dont know how many i've killed to be honest, i just lost track of the hours I sat there killing them. I got all of the others back in 2012 and I have been missing 1 for years now.
Tried again at the someones psd for 15 to 20 hours recently. Either way I don't know how much time I have wasted on it and I think its not really fun. I just want it to finish it now.
I enjoyed the challenge in the past with the unique fights with challenges but I just want that particularly portion to be addressed
yeah I don't think it's content worth preserving the harsh reality for, it's not like it's fun even when you get one quick
