You could have just added your spouse to your jagex account or vice versa.
it does work. You just open 2 interfaces
i was in the beta. I tested it all
then how would you play together?
only have one computer?
I dont have to and i have multiple accounts connected to one jagex account
heres an example: Spouse A has 1 "toon", Spouse B has 1 "toon Spouse A creates a Jagex account with a new email (Email A) Spouse 2 can add his/her (Email B and/or toon) to Email A. No need for authenticator switching
they can
open 2 jagex interfaces
not if its the same IP
same network
you can be on same or different computers. doesnt matter
I've got to say, I like this suggestion purely from the standpoint of being fed up with having to re authenticate on mobile any time I'm switching characters
it does on mobile
Honestly, I thought the whole point of the Jagex account is that it was one login, and therefore should be one authenticator.
What they need is a character select screen AFTER the login/authenticator dance.
Not sure how often is often for you. I switch between my computer and my mobile device depending on if I'm home or out. I don't really reauth often. If it's everyday, I understand but I've only reauth like once a month. A Mobile device at this point is pretty much a computer as well.
But I agree to have the option nonetheless.
Also you CAN use multiple accounts on different devices with the same jagex account. I just tested it just now. If you did on the same computer, and selected your other account on the drop down, it would just open another Runescape client.
I have one jagex account. And both my phone and computer access them. I have a main and a alt. I was able to go on my main on my phone and alt on my computer. So you can use multiple devices. And of course you can do multiple accounts on a single device. Some people have like 6 browsers open to have 6 alts doing fishing or whatever. They would make their client boxes tiny just so they can click them. It's kind of like multiboxing online poker tables.
Finally one more thing. You actually have to opt in to Jagex account and make another username for it. Your username would be (name)#(numbers). If you don't have that, you technically just have the launcher and have not migrated to Jagex accounts yet.
Well the stance is clear for a person to have multiple accounts. They are offering discounts on members for those and are trying to monetize on that since Runescape isn't really living off new blood but rather off old people who are not interested in starting over constantly in newer and newer games.
Now for multiple people having one account? Who knows. But the concerns there are mainly people concerned with high scores. If both of you are casuals then you both probably play less than some people in this game. It's definitely grey if it's a RUNESCAPE account (like both playing a main). but separate characters should be fine. I personally would not share a RUNESCAPE account but have multiple users on a JAGEX account should be fine. Though it still is better separate. What if you upset her one day and she decides to wreck your bank as pay back for an affair?
I can see why you might have to auth daily if you are constantly relogging on different JAGEX accounts.
Here is another option though. If you have STEAM, you can download another large copy of runescape into your computer and the steam linked version can be assigned to one jagex account.
I think they also promoted some other game shop site earlier in the year but forgot what it was.
Full support for this. Virtually every other service using 2FA/Authenticators has a remember for 30 days button. I really don't see any reason why RuneScape shouldn't.
If people think a video game requires even more security than a Google account or - in some cases - online banking, they are being rather ridiculous.
Remember Authentication
Nah I value my 20+ year old account way more than my google user
But I still support this
