Cremation and ghost hunter equipment. Few interesting drops from ghosts and ghost-like creatures since 2014. For F2P, cremation enables one of the best cost-efficient ways of training prayer. The ghost hunter equipment is ok hybrid equipment, but has seen an increase in usage versus revenants since the wilderness changes due the reduced risks. Though one thing that has been bothering me much with this is their inability to be dropped by ankous in F2P worlds specifically.

Some time after Halloween 2014, a bug caused both cremation and ghost hunter equipment to fail to drop in F2P worlds. It was requested whether ghosts could drop them again, but that request was taken too literal as only ghosts (and subsequently revenants) have been patched. Ankous were left out. Jagex knows about this since the patch in 2018 and sadly chose to neglect it (https://twitter.com/JagexStu/status/1042479114899349505?cxt=HHwWgoC3lerO0PccAAAA).

There should not be a distinction between F2P and P2P drop tables for unique and useful drops like this. This should've been completely resolved with the patch in 2018.

I am once again asking for ankous to drop cremation and ghost hunter equipment in F2P. Watching F2P waste their time killing ankous for non-existing drops is painful and players should not be required to read small notes on the wiki to understand what is going on.

@nemo2966 @Kitteh6660 @Zenten3_ I had a quick look at the ankou death scripts (including elites) to confirm. They only drop Cremation/herb-burner/ghosthunter/essence on member worlds.
The above ninja fix requested only ghosts, and ankou aren't classified as ghosts (they have a distinct Slayer category).

This is especially important because cremation is an incredibly important drop for f2p, having no other way to reasonably level prayer. Many p2p players don't even know of its existence, yet the f2p players who rely on it are the ones who get restricted on drops for it. Especially from an f2p monster which happens to be half of the population in the area that almost all f2p players train to get this drop (Stronghold of Security, level 4), being the only area populated enough with ghosts to be efficient, without being too easy to die (ie, at revenants).

Cremation is an F2P ability but harder to obtain due to the lack of options and low drop rate. Two F2P enemies that can drop ghost hunter and cremation are ghosts and revenants. There is a third enemy in F2P called ankou, but it drops on P2P servers, which does not make sense because ghost hunter gear and cremation are F2P.

Also include f2p herb to be f2p drop for ankou since it already in as a p2p drop.

I also think mystic robes drop rate should increase for ankou, due to how it accessible getting blue dragonhide from blue dragon and runite gear from smithing.

Even though this specific talking about allowing ankou to drop cremation and ghost hunter.

I have an idea for Halloween originated drops like Cremation and Ghost Hunter Gear. Since Halloween is going to have a big holiday hub update, how about having an item similar to the "revenant drop enhancer" that can temporarily improve the chances of getting rare items from Halloween? This item would be obtained repeatedly through the Halloween festivities reward. I hope a Jmod can look into this idea.

yo at this point i don't think there will be any f2p QOL updates. they don't patch this to much energy and resources to do, but do this instead; latest QOL f2p update: "From now on free-to-play players won't be able to travel to the Sanctum of Rebirth by taking the gondola. Players that logged out within the Sanctum of Rebirth on a free-to-play world can take the gondola back to the City of Um." thisguy

I agree about the ankou dropping part.

There was F2P QoL update a month ago. Silver and Gold materials can be stored in metal bank without needing family crest.

After, woodcutting and fletching update, Mod Stu and Breezy are working on retiering fletching and range weapon. So we can cut tier 50 wood and make range weapon (like acadia bow) out of them. This one is a given.

There have been reports that, with the recent wood spirit drop changes, that ankous are now able to drop cremation and ghost hunter again in F2P. This is big news if true.

Can confirm that I have obtained cremation on F2P from ankous! This is great news! While I have not personally encountered a ghost hunter drop myself (given it's pretty rare to get one in the first place), various other F2P have reported they do.

It only took some wood spirits to have this pushed, but F2P ankous can finally be utilized to hunt these drops.
