#Archaeology contracts

to some extent yes, this would mostly just be an alternative to the current collections
lorewise it could be cover by something as simple as a private collector wanting a specific piece to finish their collection or the museum requesting a pristine version of a specific artifact
this is literally describing the collections system as it currently exists, basically verbatim. there is even someone INSIDE the museum looking for art pieces
yes, but whereas the current system is a static list, adding the farming contract system as an alternative would add a dynamic list that'd rotate every 1, 3 or 7 days
I'm still not sure what this adds
mostly, more of the same, but with a slight twist
low implementation cost, low gains
still an overall addition to the game
but like...why though... archaeology is one of the most balanced skills in the game and xp rates are extremely well scaled to your level. i dont see why dev time would be put into Collections 2: Electric Boogaloo when the system works well and it adds nothing unique to the experience
it adds a more dynamic collection set to the system
which would serve as an alternative to donating / disassembling any leftovers you collect while skilling
which, i'd argue is something that's currently somewhat lacking
that's part of the balance of the skill though. do you want to complete collections for the rewards to keep the skill sustainable (or profitable) or do you want to just farm the highest level plot that you can for max xp and donate to the museum to recoup some losses.
and this could serve as a somewhat between the two
with the addition of ancient invention, these leftovers also serve a purpose as it stands
which is disassembling as mentioned before, there is still room for another sink of them though
I think the ability to redo contracts basically negates this? Though it could be interesting if you have 10-15 npcs with like a "collection of the day" on rotation with 3 or 4 artifacts
pretty much my reasoning yes
More and better rewards for participating in the contracts would be nice. Only a few are even profitable at the moment.
