#Suggestions and Analysis on the Little Bird Attack Helicopter

1 Reduce the respawn time

The current 5-minute respawn timer is far too long. Excessively long respawn windows coupled with insufficient spawn counts have drastically diminished the fun of piloting the helicopter—this includes both the enjoyment of ground attacks and aerial combat. What’s more, this setup disrupts game balance: once a team loses its helicopter, the opposing side will gain unchallenged air superiority for a full 5 minutes with no effective counterplay available. A viable solution would be to adjust the number of Little Bird helicopters based on map size, with a maximum cap of two helicopters per side.

2 Reduce the damage dealt by RPGs to the Little Bird helicopter

Being one-shotted by a single RPG or tank shell is wildly overpowered (IMBA). A better approach would be to set a direct RPG hit to deal 95% of the helicopter’s total health. This way, a fully intact helicopter won’t be destroyed instantly, requiring only a small amount of follow-up fire to finish it off, while any helicopter that’s already taken partial damage can still be taken down with a single RPG strike.

3 Reduce damage to the pilot

It makes sense that a well-placed sniper headshot can kill the pilot instantly, but it’s highly unreasonable for rifles to take down the pilot with just a few shots—after all, the pilot is protected behind a windshield.

The suggestions above will not disrupt game balance in any way, but they will significantly improve the gameplay experience for helicopter pilots. I sincerely hope the development team will consider implementing them.

"Reduce damage by dealt by RPGs to the Little Bird"

#

Say no more, this suggestion already bad

#

As far as number 3 goes, there is a certain percentage of damage reduction so the pilot isnt easily killed, but it is hella bugged in the live version (idk if it was fixed in playtest), so it doesnt work

#

LB could use tweaks, same with BH but man this aint the way

#

I should also note that getting shot down by a tank is incredibly rare, especially in the case of a littlebird

pine vortex
#

they should add a cram to the bottom of the littlebird that automatically shoots players & rpgs too

#

also make the gun bullets heat seeking

"gain unchallenged air superiority for a full 5 minutes with no effective counterplay available" - BlackHawk/KA60 with crew is a thing...

"Being one-shotted by a single RPG or tank shell is wildly overpowered" - Direct hit from AP not killing a littlebird would be outright ridiculous. If the pilot is aware the enemy team is trying to RPG their helicopter then dodging is relatively trivial (coming from a good transport littlebird pilot).

"but it’s highly unreasonable for rifles to take down the pilot with just a few shots" - ehhhh; from my experience gunfire isn't a massive issue for the pilot.

"The suggestions above will not disrupt game balance in any way" - Changing respawn time, the amount of damage needed to kill a gunbird, and changing how the pilot takes damage would most definitely change game balance.

none of this will matter since they nerfed it to the ground in the playtest lmao

honestly im not gonna lie, "skill issue"

#

it takes a good player to actually properly use the littlebird and they wont generally suffer from the complaints listed here

#

respawn timer just seems too forgiving for the capability it gives and the air superiority claim is just false, the blackhawk exists, it just needs a crew

#

if you're being 1 shotted by an rpg you're either against godfather or you're flying too slow and close to enemy infantry

#

same goes for the sniper issue

#

just dont fly in a straight line

That applies to more than godfather
