#Automatically mute(or lowering volume) long-term VOIP(for client option)

Really isn’t that hard to hit f1 or search a username tbh.
As for potential cases where this could be used, like new streamers in BBR… most just turn off voice entirely so they don’t have someone say edgelord things that get broadcasted on their stream. This wouldn’t even be beneficial to them because if the music bugs them, at that point they’d likely opt out of VOIP entirely or just mute the person and move on with life (which again, most opt out anyways due to the potential for edgelord shit to happen in voice.)
this is a convenient feature, much like having loadouts available on the main menu and being able to save multiple loadouts.
It's not because it's difficult to enter a server, nor is it because it's cumbersome to select a loadout after entering the server.
It might be a “qol” of some sort to you, but the tools to deal with said issues already exist. It really isn’t going to be that impactful in my opinion. Even if the minimum was, lets say, 10 seconds… most people don’t hover around players with music for that long (unless they’re defending but again it’s just a matter of hitting f1, f2, etc. or hitting tab to search their username)
Maybe at the start of a match, sure? But I don’t see it anywhere else
And im usually active on bob’s/e4gl, where people playing music is pretty common
in situations where you don't want too many distractions, suddenly hearing music fading in from the distance, covering all other sounds, you'd wish for this feature
and most of the time, this situation complies with guidelines, so in most cases, your report doesn't have any effect
god bless you not to encounter such situations
🙏
Im admittedly biased cause im a music player and don’t mind others playing music so long as it isn’t distorted to all hell. I can easily tune it out/mute where needed.
Tbh i’d like to see how others feel
im not referring to reporting either when I say f1, f2/username search. Just hitting mute on them when doing the username search, because for some people it’s easier to do that via the leaderboard menu
that why this suggestion is "Automatically"
it won't affect anyone
need to confirm whether the sound is coming from an enemy or teammate, and then determine if it's F1 or other key
If it's an enemy, most of the time, by the time completed these actions, could have already respawned with the spacebar
i would rather have a "mute all rn" button.
So if you are in a stressfull situation and need that sound awareness instead of searching for the player name or looking if you have to hit F1, F2 or F3 you can just click "insert key" and all player sounds get muted for like 10 seconds. This way you can get the situational awareness you need in that situation while you dont have to unmute the ppl you muted later (in case you want to hear the music in less stressfull situations)
I don't think assigning a key for handling this particular situation would be the best choice. I think automatically lowering the volume for players who occupy VOIP for an extended period would also be a good option.
that doesnt solve the "i want music but just not in stressfull situations"
Automatically mute(or lowering volume) long-term VOIP(for client)
if you dont want music in general yeah it might solve that
this problem is becoming increasingly complex
