#NIGHT MAPS

Currently, night maps have become less popular among the community.
Due to not being able to aim while using Night Vision, or the spam of flares, in addition to those who do not use Night Vision, they will have problems.
My suggestion to improve this would be to leave maps that are night-time in a Tactic footprint, adding some improvements:

  • release lanterns at low level
  • Night Vision has a battery similar to thermal visors, where it lasts a little similar but can be used at strategic moments
  • Improve the lighting of the Flare , where it can illuminate areas in a larger and clearer radius, in addition to decreasing as it ends

I accept suggestions 😁

  • Unsure what you mean
  • A lot else would need to change, maps would need street lights etc so you're not just crippled until your NV recharges
  • Flares are a little shonky I'll give you that, currently they're just a long-lasting wide-area flashbang
#

Finding some way to change Night maps so you can't just bypass it by maxing gamma would be nice, unsure of engine/performance limitations tho

#

Shootable static lights around the maps would be nice

#

Give the LAV thermals, give Humvees NV

#

Work on the NV filter a bit and make it less clear, less useful at range.

#

Give some medium scopes NV (not thermal) options

#

Some night "fog" to really bring down visibility range would be nice.

"Due to not being able to aim while using Night Vision" what? use reddot.... "the spam of flares, in addition to those who do not use Night Vision" not bug, this feature. "Night Vision has a battery similar to thermal visors" why? better? not

Maybe make night not inconsistent af throughout maps first?

#

Like lonovo night is pitch black and you cant see past spitting distance while you have isle night or namak

#

2 maps which are actually pretty to look at and yknow not pitch black that can be avoided by turning up gamma

Gamma thing is probably the most important issue to address imo. More visibility too ofc (street lights.. maybe some camp fires on isle to simulate “surviving the cold” etc.) but it makes no sense that you can just remove the “lack of visibility” issue via gamma increase, giving you an objective advantage over the enemy that simply shouldn’t exist.

Whilst we’re on the topic of visibility though, I do agree changing up flairs to help light objects up more.

They are pretty big and give a good bit of light that can be in different colors, blue, red, pink, purple

#

You get the idea

#

Reflectors also

idk, I like the differences in "night" maps

#

TT night is twilight, where NV is only really useful indoors. This makes a really good dynamic where things like flashlights are actually really valuable

I think night maps should do a lot more to be different than their day counterparts. For example namak being a neon city would be sick to play in if the lights were the florescent neon billboard types to help illuminate the night but have the inside of buildings and alleys be darker etc. I'd like to see night maps improved upon so they are more fun to play

Night maps were 'popular'? since when.. >.<

#

Personally, I leave if it's a night map.

Maybe, even with the NVG, there's still some dark places.. Personally, I just don't find them enjoyable

timber meteor
#

Step 1. Make them good
Step 2. Somehow remove the stigma that night maps are bad

deep jungle
#

Night maps are different and additional content. I leave if construction or multu are picked, others leave if night maps are picked, no real difference.

#

Or nu-basra, I really really miss old Basra despite all it's flaws

timber meteor
#

Same

#

Imo, it would be preferable if night maps are made consistent across the board when it comes to the aspect of visibility

deep jungle
#

I think night maps would be hated less if we had loadout slots per weapons. I think one of the major annoyances is having to tweak your setup each time it swaps between day/night

timber meteor
#

Sure its a tad annoying

#

Loadout slots would still be great

#

To me its weird that you have lonovo night on one end and then frugis night, which is barely night tbh, on the other

deep jungle
#

Frugis is weird, I'll give you that

#

But the fact that inside buildings and underground are dark which contrasts against the dusky outsides is a fun style

#

Again, means it's not just auto-nvgs

timber meteor
#

I have a crappy pc, so i turn off shadows

#

To me its dusk constantly on frugis night

#

Inside, outside it doesnt matter

#

I have perfect visibility as long as shadows are off

#

But for some reason thats not the case on lonovo

#

On lonovo shadows are just there

deep jungle
#

Yea, having night be shadow-based is sorta unfair as you can just disable it

#

Or "muh gamma"

#

But might be limit of what Unity can do by default

timber meteor
#

Yeah, its also ass that maps like lonovo just force them regardless of my settings

#

The unfairness can be resolved in a few ways but thats what i mean when i say how inconsistent night maps are

#

From my perspective some just have no shadows, while others do
