EasyAntiCheat may not be doing as well a job as FACEIT but I don't like the idea that switching to EAC is going to prevent 🐧 users from playing on official servers. Surely there can be a better alternative? Maybe just one or two official servers can remain EAC while the rest are FACEIT?

You don't like linux, that's fine, but you have no skin in this game. If both coexist you wouldn't miss a thing.
If only faceit exists you wouldn't lose a thing but linux players would. So why argue against it like you have something to lose.

Oki is keeping eac for while but, eac is not enough and he dosent want cheater fest, eac will be for community servers but faceit will be added to community servers with few changes. Oki said that sacrificing linux plyer base thats less than 254 is better for him and game

final word on this - afaict easy anti cheat is free. So the only cost would be hosting the game server itself. If there's less than 254 linux users in battlebit remastered, then surely 1 official EAC server could still exist to satisfy them?

That is not how it works, he would have to pay $$$$$ to use the license for two servers, maintenance, etc, its not economically viable even if all linux users paid 200$ for the game.
