I started playing skyrim again, it's very lightly modded, I have some of the main dungeons expanded, and npcs behave a little more realistically and interact with each other more. I just completed elden ring with a crazy 200h completionist playthrough, got every legendary weapon/talisman, did every boss that had an achievement, got the map of every area and decently thoroughly explored them, I completed the goldmask quest and rannis quest which I feel gives me a good idea as to how most of the npc interactions are handled even though I usually ignore them entirely in souls playthroughs and they're not the reason why I play. Anyway Skyrim npcs, as shallow as the interactions are, do leagues more and are leagues ahead of elden ring. Elden ring, I appreciate even more now for letting me fall for todd's lies all over again and I'm more immersed in the world of tamriel than I had been in my last several playthroughs simply because it feels better and more immersive with elden ring's npc interactions being fresh on my pallet, being bad in comparison. Again, this isn't anything against elden ring, and it really doesn't make todd's lies anymore honest, or the npc interactions even that good, they're just better enough to where I can enjoy skyrim again, more than I did before, almost like it was my first playthrough, before the magic was shattered. If you've similarly exhausted everything there is to do in elden ring, I highty recommend giving skyrim another playthrough, and enjoying it for what it is and offers, it holds up insanely well. And I think elden ring, in being so long, really let that fault stand out more than the prior games where the npcs are more background noise. I didn't do those quests in elden ring because I wanted to, I did them because they were necessary to even access certain parts of the game, I probably wouldn't have even compared the two games in this way if I hadn't been forced to play elden ring that way.

The best I can tell you is to look up a dexterity weapon tier list and sort by Katana and you can see progressively how they get better

Revives are really import in this game. Trades, as you said it's quite useles. But they use tickets to prevent respawn abusing. So losing tickets it's bad. By reviving you get to have some really nice tickets saves.
