As far as AAA titles go the only reason they suck at optimization is cause devs literally dont get the time to polish it, they dont do some pretty simple tech to hid LODs and such and/or UE5 causing more strain

In the case of something like SH2 which is on the UE5, apparenly the game doesnt use the fog to hide the lack of detail past the visible distance
