did your original world, was it based on a mod pack?
if the mods aren't loaded in the right folder, this can happen.
or is it vanilla?
if you load the wrong mc version, this can also happen
the easiest suggestion
open a ticket and give a cloud drive (onedrive, google drive) link to your world, and let them know exactly what you want. also let them know what you tried.

yes but you can't have two active instance and depending on what you put on that "instance" management screen that pops up can cause abherrant behavior.
but yes, the ticket is the only sure way to be talking to a bh employee. I don't have access to your server in the least. I can't make things happen. and I would follow my own line of reasoning despite your insistance if I could because based on what you said, it seems highly plausible. if everything is rule out, then the least likely probability is now the GOAT.

I have done it before and something similar happened but the backup actually restored and all was well
So I rewatched the tutorials and did the same process this time just to be safe and all is gone

i think i know what the issue is. was your world over 100GB?
the instances will also backup worlds up to a certain size
but because space is a commodity despite the accounts having unlimited storage, instances don't always backup worlds if they exceed a size.

i am running a skypack so my world size is 21mb. between 2 players.
here's a cobblemon server a friend of mine is running, and it's nearly 9GB, you might not be aware, but cobblemon is played in in adventure mode by default so players have limited building options.

Like a month ago yeah but the server is only like 3 months old and there are like 40 members who have been working on stuff

I wouldn't have closed the ticket. maybe respond to it to let it be open, ask the support guy to restore from yesterdays backup. there's always a magical backup for the accounts that we don't know about.

if it's a 1.18.2+ pack it shouldn't ahve scrambled if the mods are the same. because of how block ids work.

There are system admins on the weekends, they just don't work 24/7, so it can take up to 24 hours to get a response once it gets escalated to them.
