Subject: Hytale Dedicated Server – Severe chunk-load lag (TICK_STEP / FluidPlugin) + TPS set to 5
Hello BisectHosting Support Team,
I’m hosting a vanilla Hytale dedicated server on BisectHosting (no mods installed by me, no world pre-generation/preload used). Current settings: MaxViewRadius = 12, MaxPlayers = 20.
During normal gameplay—especially while exploring and loading new chunks—the server experiences severe lag spikes and frequently logs SEVERE messages like:
“Took too long to run pre-load process hook … > TICK_STEP”
These messages often reference: com.hypixel.hytale.builtin.fluid.FluidPlugin, and some spikes are very large (e.g., ~1.7s–3.5s). In some cases I also see: “Has GC Run: true”.
Additionally, I often see related warnings such as:
- NPC overpopulation cleanup (“Removing NPC … due to overpopulation”).
- Spawn marker failures/removals (“TOO_HIGH / NO_ROOM”, “lost marker / invalid-unloaded”).
- Asset/interaction warnings (missing animations/interactions, sync data, client/server desync).
One important point: after boot I see “Nitrado:PerformanceSaver enabled” and messages like “Setting TPS of world … to 5” (including world/Citadel). Could you please confirm whether this is expected by default on BisectHosting Hytale servers, and whether TPS being forced to 5 is normal/intentional or indicates resource pressure or a misconfiguration?
Could you please advise whether this pattern matches a known Hytale server issue, or if it suggests a host-side bottleneck (CPU/RAM/disk I/O)?
