#Xaero map getting reset
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
xaero's minimap and map mods store the data on the client side, when you distributed the updated pack, that update is what wiped it out. the players need to copy the xaero's folders out of their copy of the pack to somewhere else, then update, then copy them back.
so would it be in the curseforge folders?
yes, at the top, they won't have to go in config
the folders literally start with "xaero"
oh lol
<pack folder>/xaero...
thank you!
tell em
right click on pack icon
open folder
copy xaero* out to somewhere like downloads or documents
update pack
copy the copied out folders back
start and enjoy the maps
this has been annoyance with all map mods since they were ever made
i wish the map mod devs would allow us to specify cloud drives for map storage, that would be so much easier to link them back on update
Lol ok this is the first time we've used one
welcome to the club!
correct
the server seldom has anything to do with maps
so map mods do have serverside components so that you can decide what shows up in the local player maps
like journeymap has such a feature.
i've never used it myself.
the serverside
yes this is why I was so confused
part of journeymap
I was looking through all the server files and couldn't find where the player saves were
yes unfortunately we added onto cobblemon which has xaero's already
mainly that server side components is used for instance maybe you don't want players map caves, or the end for example. so you can disable it, or you don't certain mobs to appear on their maps
ok, thanks!
but it doesn't map anything
that's always local
except, for dynmap
if you install dynmap, that baby is always serverside. and the server update won't nuke it either, players can goto a website address to view the servermap with dynmap
the problem with dynmap tho is it can be used for raiding
you can see where people are at, when they are on, and when they are not. you can see the negatives there.
