Mods are just volunteers that are here to keep an eye on stuff, make sure people are following the rules. We don't get in touch for support and can't help you setup your server directly.

People here can help you step by step if you explain what you're trying to do though.

An existing pack? or a custom pack?

an existing pack

charred sage

Which one?

runic nymph
#

could i ask about a couple different packs?

#

theres the smaller modpack caled 'ftb presents skyfactory 3'

#

and the other is called 'new game 3'

#

it does suggest a gb amont, but not sure if that was reliable

Both of those are included in the options when you order a server, and based on the pack + the players the website suggest how much youll need

okay, i made a server before, on an existing pack called 'christmas holidays' and i made it and was able to play it, but when i looked at the server during playing, it was using more gb than i had for the server.

#

is that normal?

You likely didn't have the server addon installed, which makes the stats inaccurate. The server physically cannot use more RAM than it has, as it will just crash

runic nymph
#

oh okay, if that happens again, how would i be able to add that server addon?

#

appreciate the help btw.

charred sage
#

Theres just a little button for it on the server stats screen that says 'install addon'

coolio, is there a way i can test a server before purchasing it? as my friend had trouble joining before.

Not really. You can connect to the test servers to check the general network connection, but that doesnt mean anything for joining your personal server afterwards.
