My friend is hosting a server for BMC v.51 and anytime I join the server I get randomly disconnected with varying error codes. I just need some help or advice and if you have anything you need from me please let me know. I am the only one having this issue on the server and I cannot figure out what is causing it. I did get this message once.

Do you have control panel access to check logs?

#

Also, how much RAM did you give the modpack in your launcher?

torpid valley
glossy vapor
#

That is not a server console output.

torpid valley
#

The default which is 7102 MB and is this what you nee d?

#

how do I get that

glossy vapor
#

Do you have access to the server's control panel?

torpid valley
#

I can ask my friend I just dont know what that is >

glossy vapor
#

You need to be troubleshooting with your friend/the owner, then.

#

If they need help figuring it out, they can jump in here, too. But troubleshooting a connection to a server without access to the server is nearly impossible.

torpid valley
#

If this is not what you need then I will tell him to jump in here. For reference we rent a 8Gb server and when we checked the logs it said it was running at 8.14 GB.

glossy vapor
#

It isn't. If you're nebula, there's something in the screenshot on the left that suggests a network or client-side issue - but without proper logs with timestamps that match your logs it's hard to say for sure.

I host the server, what do you need friend

glossy vapor

Server logs with a full connect/disconnect attempt, and is the server restarting or is it just kicking Greg?

molten oracle
#

Please send some logs over so we can help resolve your issue. To access logs on your Minecraft server, please navigate to your server panel's File Manager and take the following path:

1. Open the Server's File Manager
2. Navigate inside the 'logs' folder
3. Click on "latest.log" to download it and send the file over Discord to this channel.

all logs since server was created last night

Please only upload a single log file, not a zip.

Doesn't appear to be a server issue. So it's either client, connection, or modpack bug.

Has Greg ever been able to connect?

torpid valley
#

Yes I can connect but Im disconnected rather quickly.

#

Sometimes a few seconds to a few minutes.

glossy vapor
#

Few minutes? So you're loaded in, playing, then get disconnected?

torpid valley
#

yes

glossy vapor
#

Is it every time or only most?

torpid valley
#

Every time

How to provide an MTR:

  1. Download the following MTR software: https://bisecthosting.com/clients/downloads/WinMTR.exe
  2. Where it says 'Host' type in your server's IP (without the port)
  3. Click the 'Start' button
  4. Wait for the very first number under the 'Sent' column to reach at least 500
  5. Click Stop
  6. Click the 'Copy Text to Clipboard' button and paste the results into a Pastebin (http://pastebin.com/) and provide us with the link.

do i do this or greg?

glossy vapor
#

Greg, since he's the one with the connection issue.

torpid valley
glossy vapor
#

You've got just a little packet loss, but shouldn't be enough to cause this...

torpid valley
#

any idea then ?

#

would us renting more server space fix this as im worried we went over the 8GB limit.

glossy vapor
#

If the server isn't crashing/lagging, the RAM isn't the issue.

#

Since you're the only one getting disconnected, the server doesn't appear to be the issue.

#

Caboose, have you tried resetting Greg's player data yet?

molten oracle
#

no, how do i go about this

glossy vapor
#

Rename the files in the playerdata folder inside the world that matches Greg's UUID.

Greg should spawn in like a brand new player.

#

If that doesn't fix it, they can get renamed back to put back gear/ender chest contents/etc.

torpid valley
#

okay

molten oracle
#

I cant find player data

glossy vapor
#

It's inside the world folder.

molten oracle
#

how do i find this guys UUID

glossy vapor
#

It's in the logs when a player logs in.

#

2b7a2cd8-945e-4517-bfb3-47bb34c8b8a7

molten oracle
#

can be renamed to anything right? and also theres one that has the same numbers with old next to it rename that one too?

glossy vapor
#

Yes, the old is used if the main one is missing or fails to load.

torpid valley
#

It seems to have worked. Huge thanks man and is there a chance of this happening again ? Id hate to have to delete player data again.

molten oracle
#

thanks for all the help brochacho, we are not log file literate if you could tell lol

glossy vapor
#

You'd be surprised how readable logs actually are.

But in this case, the lack of anything usable in the logs left it up to process-of-elimination.

torpid valley
#

It just happened again

#

we did reset player data

glossy vapor
#

Then it isn't player data.

#

!clogs ⬇️ Let's see what's happening on the client, then. janewaythink

There is nothing there to indicate that the disconnection was anything other than intentional. sigh

Might be time to ask LunaPixel?

torpid valley
#

Well crap

#

I mightve sent you one where I did DC on purpose try this one sorry

glossy vapor
#

Huh... Are you using a waystone/teleport item when you disconnect?

torpid valley
#

no

glossy vapor
#

No errors, but it says you're transferring from the overworld to "null".

#

Then disconnects.

torpid valley
#

I dont even have a waystone yet. The most I did was tap one to disover it.

#

wait im hopping dimensions ? we havent even done anything like that yet

glossy vapor
#

I don't know the modpack, but some do pocket dimensions for dungeons. Or it could be a bad TP that's supposed to stay in the dimension but is set up wrong.

torpid valley
#

I did download a modpack called the The Broken Script that has a figure named Null. Thats the only Null I know.

#

Then why is it just me

glossy vapor
#

null is a programming thing.

torpid valley
#

makes sense.

glossy vapor
#

At this point I would definitely ask over at LunaPixel, since this feels like a pack bug.

torpid valley
#

Okay thank you
