Terraria World not being modded

Recently started up a server on terraria for mods but the world is generated vanilla but I have all the mods, how do I make a modded generated world?

I don't play terraria so this is just a guess, but can't you upload the mods to the server first, then generate a new world and that will be modded then?

another option is to generate a modded world in singleplayer and then upload that

How did it work for you exactly? I’ve changed the startup options to be modded, and manually installed the mod files to the server, but nothing works. The world just generates vanilla and has me remove my client installed mods before joining. Calamity btw
