i wanted to set up a couple of mods that worked, but at least like 23? of the mods don't work, it says it isn't able to detect the mods in the zipfile itself which i took from curseforge of course. And so when i start the game and try to join the server it tells me a few mods aren't being detected but when i check inside of the modfile it says that they're all there.
#Mods not being detected.

Mods cannot be inside zip/rar files if placed in the mods folder. The mods folder only sees jar files.
Wait so if i try to put a custom modpack into the files it wont work?
like
if i get a zip from curseforge how do i make it so it detects all mods i have within the zip file?
Curseforge gives a zip file that contains files that a launcher would need to go download the modpack.
It's usually tiny in file size.
If the modpack has a server variant in the additional files tab (curseforge has this slightly hidden) then it has a set of files that you need to only run once on your PC so it goes and downloads all the needed files for a server.
does this look right
i did it by the tutorial and downloaded that winscp and all
feels like it was just like dragging the files like normal but idk
@leaden tangle yea this is NOT working
how do i make it like a jar file then cause what i did clearly did not seem to wanna work for me
💔
You downloaded the wrong type of modpack folder from Curseforge. This is just for other Curseforge clients to recognize what is in the modpack (through the modlist.hmtl)
The server pack export has the individual jar files from the mods
so how do i go about doing that then
im throwing questions all around im so sorry 😭
if you are using the curseforge app, you can click the 3 dots next to the play button and select download server. if the mod pack has a server, you will be able to download its server pack.
isn't any "download server" option
r u like able to help me out
been on this for hours :ssob
literally can not figure out what to do
sigh
which mod pack is it?
wait
this is your mod pack, so naturally there's no server pack
please export your pack, give me the share code from it. i'll make a server pack for you.
i think that you might benefit from a https://kreezcraft.com/making-a-mod-pack/ and at the bottom of that article is links to making a server. it'll get you upto speed and you stop losing hair over it. In the article I used gdlauncher. but it translates easily modrinth and curseforge apps.
so i get the code instead of the zip?
just so i'm getting the right code now 😭
TTpYwjeS
there it is!!
(i think that's it at least)
code for the modpack itself
while i do this, make sure your server is on forge 1.20.1, then stop it, delete the config and mods folders.
The zip with your config and mods https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PmJqPZ0m6f5x-0RLNyOm7o9twSp4mnE7/view?usp=drivesdk
@elder mural
1. stop your server
2. delete the config folder on the server
3. delete the mod folder on the server
4. delete world folder on the server
5. download this zip
6. upload it to the top of your server
7. once it is there, on the far right side is 3 dots, click the 3 dots
8. choose unarchive
9. start your server
can i just re-install the jar so it like goes away..
theres a whole lotta folders
just follow what i've suggested, if your on forge 1.20.1, then do what I say and you'll be fine
oki
if you dart all over the place and fret over other things, we won't get anywhere
where do i delete the world folder 😭
if you don't see the world folder then you server never got far enough
the world folder is on the top level where the config and mods folder are
yea i never even got to enter the world 😭
it's possibly you didn't like your world being called world you renamed it
oh no wait nvm i see it
oh how was it that you actually made that work
you made a server with that link thingy majingy??
I have 10+ years experience doing that and I also used this tool https://github.com/Griefed/ServerPackCreator/releases
if you read my article already you know i'm deep with it.
and visit my site and explore its menus for loads of information on making minecraft packs
