I have my own modpack installed on the server called CozyHaven from Modrinth. It is a pretty well known pack, and I have a pretty well known community who was waiting for this server to come out. We have a few server side mods to help us out with lag and things but it seems as if the tps is very low and the network is struggling.

The server id is 375552. And we keep getting watchdog crashes. Over and over. I have about 20-30 people trying to join at once and it keeps crashing. It was running fine with 10-15

I have the crash log but cant send it due to no links

#

Ah here we go

#

I am on the 48GB Premium Package as well

I'm not seeing anything obvious from the crash log. Got a copy of the latest.log handy?

As far as lag and TPS goes, install Spark and next time the server starts to lag, create a Spark report and send that over.

Please send some logs over so we can help resolve your issue. To access logs on your Minecraft server, please navigate to your server panel's File Manager and take the following path:

1. Open the Server's File Manager
2. Navigate inside the 'logs' folder
3. Click on "latest.log" to download it and send the file over Discord to this channel.

Spark
How to provide a Spark sampler.

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Download Spark: https://modrinth.com/mod/spark/versions
  3. Upload the mod to your server:
Filemanager > mods (for modded servers)
or Filemanager > plugins (for plugin based servers)
(Just drag & drop the file)
  4. Start the server.
  5. Use the command /spark sampler
  6. Wait 10-15 minutes.
  7. Use the command /spark sampler --stop

Heres the log.

And I have spark downloaded so I will do that once it starts doing it again.

#

Here is the spark sample for the last 19m

There are over 500 items on the ground and over 1000 larks and sparrows.

#

Half the tick is being used for entities - loose items, mob AI, etc. 10% just for the aforementioned birds.

#

Determining whether or not to spawn mobs is another 15%, which is much higher than I have seen before.

Would it be best to remove this mod?

#

and I also just added a server side item clear mod

#

Which helps out with the drop entities on the ground

#

They should clear on their own in 5 minutes. That they're piling up like this means they're getting created somehow.

#

Adding another to a stack resets the timer

#

Since removing Wildlife and Critters & Companions, we are still having a low TPS problem, even with entities getting removed

ocean prawn
#

So it’s at a stable 20 now, but fluctuates between 12-20 when more people join, and as more people join the tps lowers

This is without the mods

OH my bad

The ones that were ticking all the entities

#

Haha you’re all good

#

Thats my bad

fallen spoke
#

I am not good with spark reports, but it does show 2700 entities so maybe that's a mix of why?

regal wigeon
#

Still about 30% of the time spent trying to figure out if mobs should spawn. confuseddog

#

Simulation Distance is already 5... hmmnod

#

Now the server is constantly restarting and not starting up

regal wigeon
#

Well, check the logs. 🙂

If it's always on this particular line about Vinery, you may have a villager that's problematic or corrupted.

#

First thing to try is stop the server, add a 0 to the max-tick-time setting in Server Properties, then start the server.

This gives the villager 10 minutes to get itself figured out instead of 1.

#

If that doesn't fix it, my next stop would be see if Vinery has a Discord - they may have pro-strats to fix this if it's a known issue.
