Trying to add mods for the first time with SFTP

My server is already loaded with Star academy Cobblemon.
Using Curseforge I'm unable to add the mods in question to my actual game, they refuse to instal and say they are incompatible.
Because of this I manually installed the mod, and dragged them into the server files. This didn't work 😂 And the mods I wanted to place in, haven't worked.

Is there a way to layer in more mods to a modpack? or a way to make them compatible?

Sometimes Minecraft or the mod loader like forge or fabric push an update with a breaking change, requiring mod devs to make a special and adjusted version to work with that version

#

Other times it’s just 2 mods that can’t co-exist because they both change the same resource and are now competing and conflicting

#

If the mod is open source and you know Java you could dive in and make yourself a compatible version

they must be forcing an incompatible mod to run

#

this is probably a logs situation

#

oh i see, "or a way to make them compatible?"

#

@dreamy rock you can't force mods to be compatible

#

they must match the mod loader type such as forge, neoforge, fabric (the big three) and the minecraft version.
