That script is (obviously) trying to find the "unix_args.txt" files buried in the "libraries" tree. And it isn't finding any at all. So some kind of setup issue
Is this a VPS?
no clue what any of that means
ERROR: Unix args file not found.
"Custom Forge [whatever the version range is that goes here]" is selected, but the Forge server files weren't uploaded.
That doesn't mean "a custom pack on top of Forge", that means "I'm bringing my own copy of Forge."
what do i do then
Select one of the versions of Forge in the Minecraft Jar menu if there's one there that works for you, or upload the Forge server files.
its my own custom modpack that i made
Right - like I said above that is irrelevant.
ah ok
The selection made is not "custom pack on Forge", it's "custom copy of Forge itself"
Yup.
So look at the options available for Forge 1.20.1 and if either Recommended or Latest work for your pack, select that.
If you need a different Forge version, then leave the current selection, get the Forge server files from Forge, and upload those.
One of your Jars didn't upload properly and is corrupt.
Sadly, it doesn't say which Jar.
Look for one with a size of 0, to start with.
In the Files section of the control panel, there is a size column.
heres what it says this time
Yup - that second column is size.
Check there and the mods folder to see if any are either 0 Bytes or significantly smaller than your local copy.
can i just restart the process
Yeah, you can just delete everything and start over.
Just delete all the things, then go into the Minecraft Jar section and hit Reinstall to get a fresh copy of Forge.
You'll have to do that after you get everything reinstalled, yes.
zip?
Make sure you're making the zip according to the how-to article, not using an export.
Do not use the export function of your launcher.
That's designed to give an export for your other players to use - it doesn't actually have the files in it the server will need.
it was very confusing
also my files are in the curseforge folder
not the .minecraft folder
You already know to look in the right place, then.
ok cool
the sftp stuff isnt workin
Did you get this straightened out?
yes
