So - First thing you need to figure out is what exactly you want to see on the server.
Bedrock Add-Ons do not work on Java. So if you're married to the Add-Ons, you're looking at no crossplay.
Vice-versa, Java Mods do not work on Bedrock. Crossplay has to be vanilla enough that both Java and Bedrock think it's a vanilla server.
WILL hosting a server be more beneficial in terms of performance for consoles? For example with 15-20 Addons my ps5 lags will hosting from a server reduce that lag or would it be the same?
This is the easiest thing to answer - yes, hosting from a server will absolutely reduce lag. The server is now doing all the world management - Mob AI, redstone logic, world generation... Your PS5 can focus on just making with the pretty and moving info between the server and itself.
Thank you.
Iām not married to the Addons, but I am married changing the game as much as possible while being able to play on Ps5/Xbox.
What I want to see specifically if possible.
- World Generation for example terrain and biome.**
- Structure Generation**
- Quest**
- RPG Like things**
- Mini Map**
- Proximity chat maybe?
- Better Performance is a must when I comes to server lag/delay.**
- Custom/New Mobs**
9.Custom/New Activities - Waystone maybe?
Looking for almost like a BetterMc/Better on Bedrock/ Cisco experience.
I can make sacrifices where I need to.
Side question: if I choose to do bedrock only which is totally an option. Iād assume Iād only be able to add my Addons correct? Could I still add plugins or what could I add?
I have over 80-90 Marketplace Addons at the end of the day, I can only load 15-20 in a realm before my ps5 starts having food delay or lag.
If I could run 30-60 Addons with better performance that wouldnāt be a bad thing, I have enough Addons to create game changing experiences.

Then you're married to Add-Ons. New Mobs are only available with Add-Ons for Bedrock or Mods that would require Java on both sides.
Same thing with if you wanted any new blocks to go with that new terrain and biomes.
There is a third party Bedrock server that does have a plugin environment - but I'm not sure how well it plays with Add-Ons.
Could I use Addons from mcpedl or strictly marketplace
Anywhere.
As long as they'll get to the server.
Looks like Nukkit does not support add-ons.
What would I use for server type then?
I do Java + Geyser personally. If a Bedrock admin doesn't pop in, open a Sales ticket on the website.
