the modpack im using is 1.20.1
im using the forge recommended 1.20.1 i assume that was right?
will make a ticket thou
when i start the server with no mods forge loads fine but when i put modpack in is issue
@pale oracle in case you've not gotten a solution, the nightconfig mod is at fault, there's a problem in its config file. there is a mod that supposedly helps fix it. https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/night-config-fixes
how did I discover this? I fed the log to chatgpt. https://chatgpt.com/share/67865e3b-f208-8000-86d1-87fb32711ea5 and then looking at the stack trace i noticed com.electronwill.nightconfig didn't seem very default minecraft for fml to me, so I search curseforge for nightconfig
ive been messing around with it for a while now ive gotten to this stage of the console but server still wont start
I'm guessing you made a custom modpack because most mod packs that are made and can be found on cf or mr come with server packs. So, you can make a test a server from your custom modpack locally if you use Server Pack Creator which has a wiki if it seems confusing.
im trying to use this one
https://modrinth.com/modpack/prominence-2-fabric
has a load of mods which probably isnt helping me out
send over the lates crash file
!logs
Please send some logs over so we can help resolve your issue. To access logs on your Minecraft server, please navigate to your server panel's File Manager and take the following path:
1. Open the Server's File Manager
2. Navigate inside the 'logs' folder
3. Click on "latest.log" to download it and send the file over Discord to this channel.
(Do not send over any logs ending in .gz or we will not be able to assist you)
If your server is in a crash state (the server stops itself), please also attach a crash report, which can be found at the following path:
1. Open your server's File Manager
2. Navigate inside the 'crash-reports' Folder
3. Select the latest crash report by date/time and send it over Discord to this channel.
These files are required for debugging so, please send them over before requesting further assistance. No assistance can be provided without the files. If you have any questions about how to find these files, please take a look here: https://www.bisecthosting.com/clients/index.php?rp=/knowledgebase/136/How-to-find-and-view-Minecraft-server-logs-and-crash-reports.html
that has a server pack, you're not modifying it in some way are you?
nah im just installing the recommened forge thing
then moving the mods from that pack into the mods folder
i did it with another mod pack before and that worked for me
is this what youre asking for ?
in crash reports, it should be the lates one there
there's room for so much error that way
you have to follow this article to the t if you do it manually
!custommodpack
ah okay ill have a go at that now thanks for the help
i take it the ticket you did a while back has been closed.
yeah i only just got told to switch to fabric rather than forge
tried same result
made anohter just waiting now
if you're doing it manually, its a luke skywalker affair, if you do using the swap jar, it's a yoda affair.
made another what? ticket?
ye
i don't recommend opening tickets over and over
we have a rule with tickets
either do a ticket or do community support, but not both
oh okay mb will not do anymore after that one
and in the case of a ticket, if they say try something and it don't work, respond in the same ticket even it got closed, that way they know they were working on ot
when you open a new tickets, new people come in, they don't check the other tickets and don't know you're having a series of events that might be related.
therefore fresh eyes is bad for you
yeah makes sense thanks for the tips
ill try that custom modpack link and see how that goes
thanks for the hellp :))
don't skip steps and it will go well for you, but if you are going to do it, close the ticket you got open
because when staff respond on it, they'll start tinkering on your server
and that might make you trip too
will keep in mind thanks
