It was never "in the meantime".

If you switch, it's one-way, you accept the backup they have, and whatever's on your down server will get wiped when it re-connects to the billing system.

As a Bisect customer, I've had servers in datacenters operated by Quadranet, OVH, and ColoCrossing. By far, the most problems were with the OVH site. Quadranet has been pretty good, except for some minor, weird network things Bisect couldn't fix.

The OVH problems make me reluctant to ever move to Vint Hill. (I'm proudly using Secaucus, New Jersey, now.)

A thought to put out there for anyone to consider improvements in customer experiences; communication is key. It is better to have a low expectation than no idea. The key to success is to underpromise and then overdeliver. This will always result in an agreeable experience for both parties. Having no idea is much worse than just accepting the worst case scenario off the bat. Any solution above worst case is a win.

its not bisect, its the infrastructure provider. there are some really crappy ones out there. i recently had a production server go offline for about a week and a half, costing me about 150K a day in lost revenue, even though i had a platinum support plan. they had no spare parts for our chasis

Bisect feels the exact same way. You feel frustrated you're not getting told an ETA by the company you think has to fix it, Bisect is in the same situation, they are not being told an ETA by the company that has to fix it for them.

With previous outages it's also happened plenty of times that if a Datacenter does say 'it will be fixed before 6PM' the next morning the outage is still going, so having an ETA didn't matter at all.

Should be yes! If you make a ticket support can check what the latest backup is they have from before the outage started. Then support staff can move you to a new location using that backup

Keep in mind that all other backups the server had or any other instances will be lost in the process, but it will get you up and running with that last backup

The bot has that partially implemented, if you reply to one of its messages it will respond. Not always with the best or most accurate answers... But it tries. Other than that we try to keep automated responses to a minimum to just make sure people get mostly human contact here and not just a bunch of automatic bot replies :)

If you have 2FA setup, and if you're on a crappy low-bandwidth, high-latency hotel WiFi on the other side of the planet, you may get a strange login failure with a "please answer the CAPTCHA" error. This will be very confusing, as there is no CAPTCHA present (not required for 2FA logins). Just keep pressing "login" and (so far) it eventually figures out to ask you for the second factor.

Ticket times are up by a lot because of the influx of tickets and all replies would be the same - the ticket replies even include 'check our discord for updates'

So people would be waiting over an hour to be told 'look at the discord '

It's actually better to wait it out in my opinion considering the amount of things that can go wrong in transferring your service.

• New IP, don't want to deal with updating domains or people of a new address to connect to.
• Risk of not having a backup, this will result in a fresh server...
• Risk of the backup not having complete data, had a guy run into issues of playerdata not being in the backup.
• Ping/Connection issues with the new service.
• Lack of inventory at a location you desire.

Bisec hasn't updated their page in 2 days. If they don't want tickets, then they need to be posting these updates to their portal, not a discord. So, yeah, I would open a ticket (for tracking) and I would expect any client of the companies I have worked for (multiple MSPs) to do the same if there was no posted update to the portal.

Ticket response times will be a bit longer due to the high volume. I recommend waiting it out, however if you are unhappy about the service in Dallas you are welcome to do so.

Moving over a server also takes some time, it might be a waste of time with Dallas coming up soon if you're looking to move back to that

Just take a breath, and do something else. Play other games , read a book, talk to your family , do some wittling.
