Hello, I just bought a server and its been starting for like 40 minutes now I have zero clue whats wrong

The Console in the control panel will say what is happening.

Really large modpacks, 30 minutes isn't unheard of for first time startup.

#

#

i only have 1 GB of memory.. thatll probably effect something right

torn haven

Probably. What version of Minecraft are you trying to run?

uh can i upgrade?

eternal belfry

am i able to keep it at the current rate its at but add like 1 other gig?

torn haven

It's prorated. You'll pay for whatever you add, but only the difference.

#

But minimum recommended for 1.20.1 plain is 4GB, not 2.

#

Looks like you're trying to run a modpack.

If you went through the purchase wizard, it makes the suggestion based on the MC version or modpack.

#

Recommended + 0.XGB/player over 2 or 3. I don't remember the exact numbers for the player modifier.

alright, another question tho, why offer the 1?

#

For older versions and Minecraft proxies.

#

You can run 1.8 and maybe 1.12 on 1GB, and some people like to play versions that old.

eternal belfry
#

i didnt even know there were mods for 1.8

torn haven
#

There are. And some people play plain 1.8.

eternal belfry
#

well aint that something

#

congrats to those guys i could never i love my 1.20.1

There's another thread from someone wanting to play one of the CrazyCraft modpacks - CrazyCraft 2 is on 1.6, 3 and 4 on 1.7.

eternal belfry
#

what a guy, 1.6

#

i should play some of those downgraded versions, how would i do that?

Most people use a launcher like CurseForge, Modrinth, Prism, GDLauncher, etc. and use that to download and install the modpacks from CurseForge or Modrinth.

#

A few pack designers have their own launcher/installer. FTB, Voidswrath, etc.
