I want to get a server where both java and bedrock players can join it but here at the top it asks me to choose either bedrock or java so which one o i pick or am i in the wrong area?

Crossplay can only be done by making a java server that allows bedrock players with the use of plugins

so i would select java here and am in the correct section

So you're ordering a java server that runs a plugin loader (like spigot or paper) and then once you have the server you'd install the Geyser and Floodgate plugins to allow bedrock players to join as well

# shrewd lark Yes you would select Java. Correct section for what exactly? :)

okay so I'm wanting a server similar to MCC style but joinable on both bedrock and java, its a server for just other content creators for events we will run. I did send a ticket through about asking for a partnership but I haven't received a response thus far and my builders are wanting to start building ASAP. I don't currently meet the requirements for partner BUT some of other creators which are expected to attend the events are already partners with bisect hosting so my argument was that there are lots of creators attending some which do meet the requirements to partner and we collectively wanted a server for us to play on but with me as the owner of the server as I'm hosting the creator events. I don't know if you would be able to give your opinion on this or a check up on the status of getting back to me that would be great. The server in question that I want would need to be joinable on both java and bedrock editions

The only way you can apply for a partnership is through a form on the website, not through tickets, and there's no way to expedite the process on judging that (which nobody but the partner manager is in charge of).

!partnership

If you've filled that out, it says at the end that it takes 5 working days to get back to you and that staff cannot check the progress on it in the meantime

tawdry tundra
#

yeah ive done this already so ill just wait back for a response from them

#

in the meantime though ill still need one

#

so i should get a java server that runs a plugin loader and im assuming i have the option to type that plugin loader on the form to get a server

shrewd lark
#

Yep!

tawdry tundra
#

okay so im on this page what do i need to install for everything to work

#

you mentioned spigot or paper above

#

but which spigot will i need?

shrewd lark
#

Whichever version of minecraft you want the server to run on pretty much

tawdry tundra
#

well if i set it to a later version that isnt available on bedrock wouldnt it stop it working for bedrock users?

shrewd lark
#

Theres plugins that allow older and newer versions of bedrock to still join

#

Viaversion/viabackwards

tawdry tundra
#

whas the plugin called for that then?

#

im also assuming i can set multiple plugins and it will let you

shrewd lark
shrewd lark
#

All you have to do is make sure they work on that version of minecraft basically

tawdry tundra
#

nothing is coming up for me

#

its got this one down here

shrewd lark
#

yeah, you have to install the plugins once you buy the server

tawdry tundra
shrewd lark
#

Spigot is the plugin loader that Bisect will preinstall for you

tawdry tundra
#

ah i see so id have to get the rest after

shrewd lark
#

The files for the actual specific plugins are uploaded to the server files later

#

Yep

tawdry tundra
#

do i need a budget or premium

#

im in the uk and the only uk one is a premium server

#

but in france there is

#

ive been told the lower this number is the better not sure if thats true though

shrewd lark
#

Yes, for latency (ping) lower is better. I would pick the location that's the best for a large part of your playerbase (if not all of them are in the UK).
The differences between budget and premium are listed there, there's no hardware difference, premium just adds more locations, staff will do some more things for you that budget servers have to do manually, that kind of stuff

tawdry tundra
#

is there a price difference between them both

#

ah yes i got it

#

there is a £40 difference between the 2 of them

#

first one is buget second one is premium

#

the ms doesnt look much different but would that effect gameplay much?

shrewd lark
#

For that difference i wouldn't bother myself

#

But if you find that you are having issues with ping , you can always upgrade / change locations later!

tawdry tundra
#

okay so ill go with the cheaper one

tawdry tundra
#

so for 45 players its saying it recommends 14GB for £33

im also doing this live as we are talking so hoping to get it done tonight
