You need to use the LuckPerms mod, not the plugin version.

I was told luckperms doesn’t work on forge on it’s on, so I tried using spongeforge mod to make it compatible

So use a different permissions mod, like FTB Ranks?

Does that work natively with forge

#

Lowest version ftb support is 1.6 on forge website

I guess for 1.12 you use FTB Utilities, Ranks was split out later.

That's what some old posts say Ranks was split from.

But FTB moved their wiki at some point and I don't have the time to Google up the new one at the moment.
