you typically get the option when you tell it you want to install another pack. it asks if you like to create a new instance and delete all the files. I picked an arbitrary pack for this example. And yes, we were able to make instances as desired on the old system. I believe they said that feature and others will be returning in the future.

and what do i do if i want to install a world generation data pack only on one instance

i can t create it first and install it after bcs i will generate chunks at spawn with the normal generation

instances allow you to flip back to pack you've had before. they're not for allowing you to run multiple game servers on one plan.

think of instances like backups

if you want to install something new on an instance you've created, you can access them thru the instances that noted were blank, but won't be after you install a pack.

load it up, saving the current instance as an instance

You just add the generation datapack and then clear out the world folder of everything but the datapacks folder.
