I've been having a problem with joining a server that uses KubeJS. When I join the server I get an error message saying my version of KubeJS does not match the one that the server uses, but my version is the same. I'm not very tech savvy, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Forge is not the smartest. The criteria it judges 'version differences' on is not just the version number, but also what registry objects (like items and blocks) exist.
This means that when you add custom things with KubeJS, Forge can sometimes show a version mismatch error with the exact same versions shown on both sides.
The simple solution for this is to make sure that the startup_scripts folder is the same on client and server.
Sorry, this is probably a stupid question, but I couldn't find any answers when I searched on google earlier. How do I view/match the startup scripts? Thank you!
the startup scripts are located in the kubejs/startup_scripts folder
Is "example" the only one I should have in there?
depends on the modpack that you're playing
if you're making one and didn't change anything, than yes
I think it's a custom modpack, there are a lot in there. I'll ask the server owner if they changed anything when they wake up! Thank you!
no problem
