I wanna make a custom recipe where a frog eats an item, but I dont know yet how I would go about this.

month late to answer, but you can add entities to the minecraft:frog_food tag and the drops are dealt with on the entity's loot table..... you can see what the magma cube's loot looks like here and how it's set for each frog type
