Taxi was late arriving so asked where he was, answer Saranda 😊 by which time could find another as they were in use. So last minute got a local to drive us up the hill, 5 euros instead of taxis 7. But no bus 😯

So then the fun starts with twin mobile phone he phoned the driver, gets them to wait and sets off to find the bus.

Another call told that our tickets are not valid

So we ask the random guy, fancy a trip to Saranda? His answer, sure, 70 Euros. We arrived safely. Now for some rest

Seems crazy to stack festivals back to back

Despite all the hate that Mainstage get, they can successfully run festivals back to back. They've teared down because the next festival in Dhërmi is in September, most of the kit will stay on site but I suspect all the sound gear will come back to the UK

Also regarding the 5 year / festivals contract thing, I mentioned this to my guy that works for Mainstage and while he wouldn't confirm/deny it, the look he gave me and his body language told me that it's not going anywhere. Happy to be proven wrong though 😂

Actually I do have to laugh about the hate that both Anjuna and Mainstage got about the ferry transfers. I understand that it's a pain having the times switched around and etc, I was one of them that also had my times swapped, HOWEVER, blaming Anjuna / Mainstage for a ferry breaking down or whatever the problem was, when it's simply out of their control, was totally unacceptable imo. I don't know what people expect them to do in that situation, but imo it was handled well and they made the situation work regardless.
I've got so much good feedback I'm going to pass on when the survey gets sent out, both teams deserve so much credit for pulling this off again

Yeah I didn’t have much to complain about, other than how many cabs I had to pay for thru the week because the hotel didn’t provide the shuttle MainStage thought they would.

The official festival cabs just kinda vanished after the first couple days and it was a fight to even get them to take me up the hill for 15 euros

I think next time I’d rather stay in a dive of a hotel if it’s within festival area than be in the nicest hotel only reachable by cab

Personally, my accom was amazing. Great room (verging on spectacular), great restaurant, decent free breakfast. Next to shuttle stop D, great beach just opposite

Only downside was having to get the shuttle to and from every day

I was right outside the festival area this year and loved the location. Quick walk to the main entrance. Made a world of difference in logistics compared to where I stayed last year where I needed the shuttle

The good thing about being there is you can always get a shuttle, i found that last year when at Orange - a few meters up the road from the stop. But like you aI also opted to stay close this time.

I did every pool party and two gjipes, so effectively 4 journeys every day. That's probably at least 90 mins of waiting and travel each day that I would rather have been doing something else (sleeping!)

iirc the pics and reality of the room we had were spot on. The AC was a little strange as we had zero control over it and it would turn on and off at what I felt was completely random. It wasn't like super hot in there, just very noticeable when we came back late afternoon and it was like a warm wall that hit us 🤣
The pool wasn't heated but the sun did enough to make it enjoyable and refreshing on the 2 afternoons we chilled there.

There was a reception/bar sorta thing but we didn't make use of that since we had our own fridge to store drinks and snacks/breakfast everyday.
The rooms weren't exactly soundproof, happened almost daily when the people above us were shoving chairs etc around at like 7am (whyyyy?) and I woke up from that. But like, once you were wrecked enough halfway through the week, you kinda just slept through that

The view was actually amazing, shame we had the ground floor apartment and not the upper one with the balcony.

Shuttle Bus stop C was what felt like 5-10mins away ( @tall kernel may have timed both routes we tried, correct me if I'm wrong) with only one steep hill that felt extra tough on the last day but I'm sure others had a way longer trip so it's not really a complaint. Location overall was decent

For me the most annoying thing is that I can only see what hotels are available as im buying - would make a world of difference if there was a PDF of options that we could read beforehand. I know that some stuff might already be sold out by the time I'm at the top of the queue, but at least I could prep a list of options beforehand

So much this. I think there was a list of hotel names and that was about it. I know I went through tripadviser sticking as many in as I could to check reviews, but lots were so new there was no way to see any reviews or amenities.

The other thing is there should be ALL of the hotels in a single list when you get to the front of the queue, with their availability level on it so you don't waste time clicking through each one and selecting options to only then find it had sold out.

I know I really panicked making the booking as I queued for so long and then we only had a short window to book the room before being kicked to the back of the queue

FWIW they do hold back some inventory for the subsequent sales. I booked in February, missing out on early access and the regular pre-sale back in November, and was able to find a hotel within the festival zone that got added for that sale period.

Correct, the returners pre-sale is not all the inventory of rooms. Any that aren't sold during the pre-sale are put into the general sale, and then when the deposit deadline comes up, and rooms that don't have the full deposit are put back into the pool of rooms
