We thought to expand on events with out adding a channel for each, this accomplishes that in way but only if there is interest in an event. Hopefully it takes off 🙂

Hi Nickijsb, I am also in the UK, also my first trip abroad for an event, and, I am a lot older than most too - so I can relate to the nervousness, but I did go to the London weekender last year (first event in a very long time) and loved it, people are generally open and friendly and you can chat to anyone briefly and they never seem to mind at all. It will be good fun however it goes, be yourself and relax

You can probably find someone on one of the facebook/whatsapp groups selling their package, typically you can only buy the festival ticket with a hotel, however some people are splitting their packages against Mainstage/Anjuna's wishes. Personally I wouldn't recommend buying a ticket without a hotel, but YMMV and you may find a decent deal on a hotel. Just bare in mind that Mainstage/Anjuna say that they've negotiated prices with the hotels in the area - if you try to buy hotels separately you may find it's more expensive that way

Exp is going to be a bit different this year, I think I said before but my mother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and is insulin dependent now, she's a bit nervous about it especially at a festival like this! I've assured her she'll be fine but she's still understandably quite nervous about it all 😅

Travelling was not fun, first train cancelled, then parking spot closed, rerouted train only to find plane from Luton was delayed over 8 hours, finally arrived Titania locally 5am having woken at 8am the day before. Could not sleep, do caught transport did all the usuals finally at about 3am local time finally crashed for sleep! Ready to refuel and start again, Gjipe here we come!

You can get a taxi to the top of the canyon, when you got the coach from the port into Dhërmi you drive past the top of Gjipe so it makes sense, I think people have been paying locals to take a private boat there and get in that way

Really not sure they don't even bother doing wristband checks for Gjipe. It was the same last year. The Yotto and Doty day was FAR busier than Marsh and Nox Vahn the day before
And they were all sold out so its not like one had sold more tickets than the other

What was everyone's top 3 favourite sets from the week?
Hard to choose, but in no particular order;
But all sets this year were amazing, so it's not like the other sets were less good. It was awesome to be back in Albania with all you lovely people. I have to say that I'm quite tired after a week of staying up every night until sunrise and trying to sleep in the heat and light of day, but I had great fun during all the sets.
So I would like to thank everybody involved for the amazing experience; the artists for their performances, the staff for organizing it all and of course you guys for vibing so hard all the time, even though our legs hurt and we were tired 😂

Some of the set I enjoyed most were at the Yacth Club and Cove stages, yes Marshs dnb was not expected and I had left about when that started! Hey the old dog need sleep ok!!
If you did spot some old guy quietly getting on with it, that was prob me! I took front right at the Yacht Club, or right of the Bar at the Cove ususally. Occassionaly on the steps at Empire.
In no order I have fun with Gareth, Dom and Marsh at Yacht Club after Marsh/Simon Doty at Gjipe.
Natascha Polké was amazing at the Yacht Club (felt like you just heard saomeone like Ben Bohmer for the first time, you just know she is going places)
Nordfold and PROFF were fab too. oh then the starting day with ixto, Mia Aurora, Steven Weston Live, onto Romain Gacia and Jody btb Doty was a great introduction

Yeah she's good! Had a bit of a moment with the diabetes and insulin not doing what it should but the medical team was great and helped her where they could
That aside I think she enjoyed it, got to see some artists play that she wanted to and yeah! Was a fan of the speedboat across to Gjipe too lol

How much was the average 2 person room ?

Varied on standard and location etc but the accomodation only cost ran from around £100 to £650 for the week. A decent mid range would be around £200-250 per person as rough estimate

For the two of us I believe we paid ~£1200 for Elysium, speedy transfers each way and shuttles, 2 days of Gjipe was ~£70 each day
My total cost may be off because reasons I can't discuss lol

Total package cost for me was £760, and that included: Main Ticket, Optional Carbon offset, Hotel - room only, Transfers both ways to Tirana Airport, Daily Shuttle, and every day at Gjipe. Spends were ridiculously low compared with what I budgeted, but then I dont really drink anything other than water, coffee and juice!

If you have the option of doing Elysium I really do recommend it, the hotel staff were lovely and nothing was too much for them, we asked them for a kettle and cups at reception when we checked in and they bought it to the room
Also the loo wouldn't flush, a guy turned up with a Makita drill and screwedriver and stripped the loo apart to fix it lol

I am tempted by Empire, only because you have access to a private rest room on demand and all your stuff is on hand too - and apparently quiet too if you are on the back, if the front then you have a balcony to view the stage!

I thought I'd escaped the hills but no 🤣 I originally got the shuttle pass so I could go to Drymades because my mates were staying there, glad I got them after that first walk up the hill with my case and backpack lol

I'd recommend getting the shuttle pass even if you don't intend on using it, it's just useful to have in case you decide to go to Drymades for food

Next year I think our group is definitely going to look at empire or Elysium just to make things easier
Just in general I think I'd advise people looking more into hotels / options before they book instead of going for the first option they see (easier said than done!)

100% recommend empire. Was there for 2022 and location down the end of the festi was great. Rooms are soundproofed to a reasonable degree that ear plugs meant bae slept through all sets.
The pool onsite is a good thing too as the swimming area down by the bunker. Food was good as well

Not that I am aware, but last year had 1093 photos with 19196 views, GT Gorge Weekender 2210 with 51k+ views and London GT Weekender 1244 (838+406). Explorations'23 at 270 (so far at least) it has only a few more than Anjunadeep Open Air Denver at 192 and Explorations is of course so much bigger (no disrespect to Denver). It does feel like there should be so many more somewhere left to publish

Tend to agree, I had to leave at around 4:!5am as I was too wiped by then and so missed it but heard about it later that day of course. A great folk tale for sure.

Totally agree, it was such a shock and I'll never forget my reaction and my mates reaction when he switched it up
He started it with Apex - Inner Space and it's always been one of them tracks I've wanted to hear during a set. I'm happy for it to not release but if it does release, I'll be even happier to relive that memory again. It was genuinely so so much fun

I thought that the Yacht Club was deemed under rated stage by many people, but for me most of the really excellent sets were there or at the Cove, maybe I just prefer a greater degree of intimacy perhaps, the other two (three if you include Gjipe perhaps) stages were more like a 'normal' club in atmosphere (Gjipe was special but really packed at times and I thought had the poorest sound quality too from a persoanl perspective)

Yacht club is a great stage, same for Cove too. Very intimate and fun, last year Amy played such a great set there on the last day, I'm kinda gutted it was all packed into a week that was 1 day shorter
Also the Yotto rock takeover or whatever it was called last year, was like a bad wedding DJ but it was great haha I didn't expect myself to be bopping along to Toto - Africa at an Anjunadeep event 😂
Also yes I agree with Gjipe sound quality being a bit.. sub par, but I assume that was just because of how packed it was this year

May be one of my fav moments from Exp, I'd just had breakfast at Chillis and waited for Cove to open for their set. I really wanted to get a shot from there of the Anjuna logo while there was no one around and I managed it 😅 I sat with my mum there for a bit and then back to the hotel to do uni work but my mum stayed there and loved it

Last year I arrived on the Wednesday night, travelled to event on Thursday with little/no sleep, so if I can get tickets this year, then I will definatley arrive at least 2 days early, and leave prob 2-3 days afterwards. I want at least one clear day recovery before travelling back. Roughly 10-11 days inc travel days.

This year I did the entire day of traveling, woke up at like 3AM UK time for a 6AM flight, flew to Corfu and ferry to Dhermi, and then stayed up till about 3AM Albania time, was very tired the next day 🤣

The rooms are priced per person for the duration not by day, last year the cheapest was around 110 Euros for the festival per person. If you wanted something a little better in quality I would say budget twice that or more as you can go up to 600 euros easily (for the whole time not a day)

Anyone stayed at Zoe Hora before? That’s where I was able to book. It’s in Dhermi proper and says 44 minute walk vs 8 minute drive. Supposedly has its own shuttle. Seems like even if their shuttle proves unreliable, could likely just walk there/back?

I didnt stay there, but visited one night for dinner. It's got a fantastic view, and the architecture is kind of stunning. Location wise though, I would question whether you could walk there in 44 minutes. Maybe on the way down to the festival, but I really doubt it on the way back. It's way up in the hillside, and it's a steep road to get there.
I also heard rumblings that their provided shuttle was very lacking, leading some people that stayed there last year to have to rely on their own taxis to/from the festival site. But tbf, that could have been hearsay
It's easy to underestimate how weary you'll be after a full night of dancing, especially towards the end of the week. I walked back to my hotel a bunch of times, and I'm in good shape, but that steep hill climb still got to me some nights. I was pretty far up the hill, but no where near as high up as Zoe Hora

Last year, the taxi group had a whatsapp number they gave out to people so you could grab one if needed. The shuttle service is 24hours though and they run literally as they fill up, so roughly every 10-30mins depending on how the demand is. Never had any issues getting back to Drymades last year at all
