Does what it says on the tin. Wall mount, stores fire extinguisher off the floor.

Yes, I know we can do this with a wall bin, but then I can't see the extinguisher and in the panic of fire and smoke I don't know where to go.

Very true. However, if you select the fire and choose "Extinguish," you character will go grab the nearest extinguisher. I still like the bracket idea, though, for the aesthetics. It's OSHA-Compliant!

oh, absolutely. I haven't seen that; my main guy has always stuck with it.

Also, "pawns?" Fellow Rimworlder, are we? ^_^

While we wait for extinguisher brackets, I am using wall bins. I know you mention the drawbacks to this, but to solve some of them, I use a different styles of bin for different purposes; I use the brown/white striped ones for emergency gear (extinguisher, P-suit, Holden patches).

We need not just a 'Bracket', but full on 'emergency cabinet with a fire extinguisher' that is required by law aboard any vessel.
I constantly misplace my fire extinguisher, and I imagine lots of people misplace their first aid supplies and hull patches (might be why I don't use them), we need a dedicated place for all that, one that won't 'misplace' your 'first response' gear all over the ship.

My growing stockpile will attest to that. But:

Developers once likened Ostranaught's ships to 'space cars' (a lot of them are certainly car sized), but cars are also mandated by law to have extinguishers and first aid kits aboard, ones that are immediately recognizable as such. I think law (at least in Ukraine) is very specific about size and signs on the box/extinguisher and in some cases even about location. If we interpolate that onto spaceships, we get mandated 'space suits' or at least hull patches along with other supplies.

It would make a lot more sense to be fined over an 'improper', unreachable or dated first aid kit/extinguisher/spare suit than over a missing poster.

I think a wall mounted 1x2 Red box with a 'cross' on it, meant to have first aid supplies, suit, extinguisher, hull patches, may be even a tool or two (like a crowbar, for doors), would make a lot of sense.

I can only speak for where I am (the US), but here, only certain commercial vehicles and First Responders are generally required to have either one of those things. I do keep a first aid kit in my car, though; the general advice given for when you have a burning car is to RUN.

Look at how our ships are rebuilt from the remains of other spaceship carcasses. You’d think car safety regulations would resemble something out of Mad Max.

However, 100% for fire extinguisher bracket.

No worries. I know of the existance and worth of OSHA regulations! There's a whole lot of them in every RF-72m that keeps you out of harm's way by putting them in it. 😉
