Hmm. Could be a bug, but also could depend on your situation (e.g. where you are in space, and line of sight, etc.).

One of the first things to check might be if your map fast-forward is set into the future? It's the top left of the NAV, and it should say "1s":

If it says something else, you are viewing the future positions of map elements. Clicking RESET will help with that.

Also, while you are docked with OKLG (after using emergency teleport), what do you see?

__Easiest way to find them__

The easiest way to find them is to:

  1. Launch the game
  2. Open the Options menu
  3. Click FILES
  4. Click the button next to SAVES to open that folder in your file browser.
  5. Select the resulting file.
Where to find them

In Windows, they can be found under APPDATA\LocalLow\Blue Bottle Games\Ostranauts
In Linux they can be found under $HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1022980/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Blue Bottle Games/Ostranauts/Saves

What's in it?

Ostranauts keeps a folder for each save (Captain Joe, autosave_27_captain_joe, etc.), and in each folder are at least one zip file and a few other files:

  • saveInfo.json - save metadata like name, dates, etc.
  • portrait.png - a snapshot of the captain's face
  • screenshot.png - a snapshot of the ship
  • <folder name>.zip - a zip file containing the latest save file for the slot/captain
__How to share save files__

If you wish to share a save file (e.g. for reporting a bug), usually the best way is to upload that zip file to a file sharing site like Google Drive/Dropbox/OneDrive/etc., set it to be visible to anyone with the link, and share the URL to that file.

yes it does say this on the UI. I tried resetting and it didnt work. I think I tried pressing like everything on the dashboard or controls of the ship and nothing helps.

I think the bug got meybe triggered by me trying to access and linking my pda to other ship that boarded me.... meybe that is why. But yeah resetting or moving the bar next to it with the fast forward map does nothing.

I am docked and nothing is wrong with it, I can access anything and the background has the little rock cuz im docked to the asteroid, but the navigation station is still completely blank.

okay locations including ships seem to dissapear either because i pass a lot of time in game or its because i uninstall thrusters on a ship that boarded me otherwise idk. its probably not because of me using another ship

I fixed it by installing the other nav station from the other ship that boarded me and that did the trick for some reason.
