A simple mod to hide conduits by layering them below everything else. If you want to customize the height, open the items.json file and change the fZScale lines in both sections.

Some reference values: the value in the mod is 0.002, the original value is 1.02, Regloith is 0.001, Racks are 0.5, and loose items are 0.02.

I concur on the name, and I STRONGLY believe this should now be vanilla behavior.
I mean with the conduits hanging overtop it gives the game more of a 90's alien vibe but honestly just reducing the visual noise is supremely helpful for navigation.
And if you need to work on conduits you can just turn on the power overlay to see where they are in order to select them easier.

The one issue is that you can't really find unpowered conduits, even with the power overlay, so you'd also want them to update that so you could see them with the overlay on.

Is there a way to have conduits still visible but not be the first thing you select when selecting a tile? I loved not accidentally uninstalling the conduit when trying to use the door, but now my ship is too clean.

Visibility is directly tied to the selection order. So you could change the fZScale values as described to put them above the floor to make them visible in some circumstances, but otherwise no. That would require a dll mod or for the devs to change code.

Yeah it's super annoying to look at conduits built over doors to see if it's open or not
