How much are the late fees? trying to look at the images XD
hi and thx for the bug report, do you have a save file from before this happened or could you share more details with us in regards to what type of fees you got?
Ive encountered this after i did a prepay on the mortgage. for some reason, there is a fee/fine much earlier in the records that needs to be paid. scroll through the past records looking for a pay button to appear. paying that solved the issue for me. not sure whats causing it though
Definitely happening on beta branch as of today while doing prepayment
Check earlier shifts using the arrows to see if you missed a payment.
You do prepay, you cannot pay that months fee, prepay isn't counted towards them
Only after you are slapped with missed then it's available
I caught a few times where I got that issue
I think its not there, go back and forth a second time
missed feee
you know what there is a fix for that , see you in feedback
This seems to be a bug with the notices only as when I recreated the steps (paid a portion of my mortgage), when the shift ended I was given the late payment notice, however no actual late fee was applied.
I used prepaying to pay for my CSI early, and then as I paid for it in full I was hit with late fees the moment untime ended.
Thanks for the heads-up, and possible repro steps!
I've logged a bug ID #4856 to try and reproduce this via using mortgage prepay, possibly in combination with untime.
Oh hi issue from last year. Dupe thread with some more info: https://discord.com/channels/302515943945273347/1284581104640065671
Ah ha! I think I've found the bug here (or at least one of them).
Looks like when you prepay the mortgage, it removes both the mortgage and current line item from the ledger, reduces the principal by the prepayment amount, then re-adds the mortgage again at the original inception date.
So if you ever use prepay after the first shift, it'll disappear from the current screen and appear on a previous shift's page.
So it'll look like you have no fees to pay, when in fact, you do but it is hidden in past pages.
Should be a pretty easy change to make the new mortgage start on the current date, which will look like the current line item just changes amounts to a lower rate.
(Basically, like you just paid down the principal and refinanced.)
There is also a related problem with super-fast forward and docking fees. If you super fast forward through shift change it does some wonky stuff with docking fees and mortgage being set up on previous shift, and then when super fast forward ends putting another set of fees on the new shift.
This is all reasonable, except that it isn't obvious that you need to go back pay it off. So either an indicator of bills on previous ledger pages or having a "Pay All Current Bills" button would be nice.
Note that it isn't limited to normal prepaying. I sold my original ship, a tiny bit of mortgage left and I lost ability to prepay it, plus got this bug where I'm getting 'Late fees'.
Yeah, I've just been going though this bug, and there are a few pieces to the puzzle. But a big part of it is that recurring fees can sometimes end up being logged in previous shifts, so they are missed. And I'm going to change things so any fee the game creates appears in the current shift where you can see it immediately.
A second issue is that some previous/next arrow clicks were skipping a shift (usually when it spans Untime), and that could cause fees to be easily missed.
Finally, the hourly rates were not being correctly charged during super FFWD.
I think we'll have fixes for most or all of these next patch!
I'm still running into this on the latest patch, should this be fixed already?
It keeps warning me at shift ends about payments, but nothing is selectable, I even paused the second before shift change and had nothing to pay
had to page back 4 shifts to find the payment to pay it
i'd try to figure out how to refund the late fees with a debug command, but I feel like "eroneous bank fees due to computer glitch" is totally a thing that happens IRL so I might as well say goodbye to my 13k$ late fees ๐
Yeah, I still get the "late fees only show up on the original shift" thing too. Current version. #๐-general message
Hmm. Do you recall what type of payment his was? Was it a mortgage, or something else?
And did anything special happen to trigger this? Like, was it fine until you used super-fast-forward, or similar?
On my current 0.14 save I never pre-paid the mortgage, but did sell my original Passenger Transport Dream. The sell price was applied to mortgage, and the bug started showing up for me there too.
Honestly I never reported this as a bug as I thought it was the bank was just being sketch lol
Same
I need to pay my docking tax when i in fly to venus ..
Just for travel to venus and back more then -200k by docking with oklg
I think it was the same situation - I prepayed mortgage
I attached the save for this game in some other bug threads, but I think it was after I fixed this one - I could dig through the saves to find out what it was if it's helpful
can confirm, having the same issue on repaying mortgage after prepaying / refinancing after selling a ship:
however, on next shift, no late payment penalty was added
The late fees will only appear on the shift in which the original (late) payment was incurred. Page back for a while and see.
nope! this was fixed in .7 I think!
I saw late payments on the "current" shift since last update
or .8
i think .8
i get late payments warning (but no actual payments to be made) every shift. iirc i paid off my mortgage in full a long time ago, currently no debt or anything going on. my save for debugging is here -> #1327830580422901833 message
