I'm not 100% sure how I'd feel doing this as a nuzlocke? so many battles I only survived because of heal item spam (which I normally ban in my runs) so I'm not sure. postgame feels a lot more workable than it did with Crown Tundra and Teal Disk though

with thievul being my actual anti psychic/ghost after furf's bite/crunch wasn't cutting it in the DLC (and my main hyperspace clearing mon with quick attack + psychic being able to hit almost every pokeball location) and sawk was probably the least on-the-team of the six but did do well when he did battle

Like, the starters wouldn't have a proper type triangle and the types chose feel arbitrary and random. Rillaboom has no association with rocks, and it would lose its resistance to water AND its weakness to fire. Cinderace doesn't even learn any electric type moves except Electro Ball, and as a physical attacker it wouldn't benefit from it either... You would hate it, but Fire/Fighting is the most fitting due to its association with kicking and being competitive. Inteleon has nothing to do with ghosts, its a spy (realistically it would be dark type, for the same reasons as Greninja).

Just because Dubwool is defensive doesn't mean it makes sense to be Steel type... Its not like its wool is made of steel, its just wool. Greedent eats berries but that doesn't make it grass type (By that logic half the Pika-clones should be grass type because they like to eat berries). Grapploct is fair enough, but I kinda like how aquatic creatures don't have to be water type all the time. Cursola makes sense, but Rock would make it an even worse defensive mon than it already is. If Sirfetch'd is grass type, by that logic so should regular Farfetch'd (I'm surprised its not Fighting/Flying honestly, considering its literally a bird). Falinks is NOT a bug, and why the heck would it be psychic??? Steel makes more sense for the armor.

Boltund and Pincurchin are the only ones that make sense to me, and Copperajah I'm indifferent about (It makes sense, I guess, but doesn't stand out as something important to its identity). Though if Pincurchin was Electric/Poison it would step on the toes of Toxtricity a little (and the 4x Ground weakness might hurt its main purpose of setting Electric Terrain).

Its okay for mono-types to exist, not everything needs dual type. 😅

Not to mention through TMs it can learn Fake Tears, Thief, Snarl, and Throat Chop as well.

One could even interpret its X-ray vision as a form of "cheating." Not playing fair in fights is a common trait for dark types.

A lot of these might not be the most solid reasons, but they're at least somewhat plausible and avoid the boring mono-types we've seen a million times without any uniqueness or interesting twists. 😅

• Grass/Rock is a pun on the fact that it's a drummer.
• Fire/Electric is a stretch to give it a dual type that's not Fighting, but it's a speedy athlete like the Duracell bunny.
• Water/Ghost is 100% valid for some similar reasons to Decidueye. It works in the shadows, and uses its camouflage to become transparent. Dark also works.
• Normal/Steel works because of steel wool.
• Normal/Grass works because Greedent's berry gathering is extreme compared to Pikaclones; it literally can't focus on anything else, not even battling.
• Ghost/Rock being worse defensively isn't something I care about. We haven't had one yet, and Cursola is one of the four (alongside Spiritomb, Runerigus and especially Houndstone) already existing Pokémon that really fits the type.
• Fighting/Grass for Galarian Farfetch'd and Sirfetch'd is because they've got larger leeks than regular Farfetch'd, which you could argue is more reminiscent of Passimian (who could feasibly be a Grass-type, admitteedly).
• Falinks engages in the social behaviour commonly seen in insects and is visually similar to a caterpillar. Similarly, it's a hive mind in the same way Exeggcute is. Steel also works for the armour angle.
• Electric/Poison stepping on the toes of Toxtricity is fine; that same generation, we got Legends: Arceus, which added two new Grass/Fighting-types, a Fighting/Poison-type when Toxicroak was there, a Dark/Poison-type when Drapion was there, and a Fairy/Flying-type when Togekiss was there.
• Copperajah, especially the G-Max, is essentially an excavator. G-Maxes can't change types, so bringing into the base form would be the only workable solution.
