Crazy how Pokémon has been removing and adding new ways to fail shinies these past few games. PLA meant no more missing shinies in the Overworld, but they can now run away and disappear. Scarlet and Violet made it so shinies no longer disappear on their own, but with that thing in indigo disc, they're easier than ever to accidentally despawn. ZA made it so some shiny Pokémon can't despawn no matter how far you are from them, but now you can lose one from running out of time in hyperspace.

Using Up B+X on the starting menu will reset your save back to a previous pokemon centre so berries and donuts arent wasted (and im not too certain on this one but using a sparkling power 3 donut has always spawned me into hyperspace with at least one shiny of the type nearby)||

i still have like 1.8 k calories and i've found two goomy and a bagon
