Its a little frustrating that the game doesn't have any value to tell you how fast a move STARTS. There's no info online about it either, because basically the only way is to test out every move (usually weaker moves are faster, but then you have moves like Brick Break which have decent power but start quickly. Cutting moves like Night Slash also usually start quick, but then Shadow Claw and Psycho Cut aren't as fast despite being in the same category, its super unintuitive and inconsistent).
And the speed stat doesn't even seem to effect the speed of moves starting, it only effects cooldowns.
I'm trying to figure out decent moves to make Aegislash actually do well. I have Aerial Ace, Brick Break, Shadow Sneak, and Protect (because King's Shield is a death sentence in this game), but even though its fast enough to land hits before it dies, it doesn't quite have the power. Shadow Sneak is the only STAB move it has, but it has low base power... I tried Shadow Claw but its just a little too slow to execute to be worth it. Iron Head is literally its only damaging physical steel move, but that's even slower than Shadow Claw.
If only I had an extra move slot for Swords Dance. 😕

As for Pikachu, Mega Raichus may as well be Mega Pikachus, Raichu's evolution got scrapped to make baby Pikachu that only exists for being a marketable plushie and then it gets a broken fucking signature item (that it's still worse than Raichu with)
