for outbreaks, you autobattle to KO them while paying attention to the messages. once you see the second message about the number of pokemon in the outbreak getting lower, you stop KOing them and reset the encounters by either entering picnics, a town, or just walking away and coming back. you can either stack this with a shiny sandwich or just kinda go for it.

once you see a shiny, save the game, then fight it and catch it

if you fail the catch, reload

obv you need autosave to be off

the odds with the sandwich are a little higher than without but if you don't do a lot of raiding and are low on herbs it's pretty reasonable without one, too

i had an outbreak of Electabuzz in charge stone cave. took a bit of clearing uptop before i realized they were in the cave. my shiny meal from the Cafe had ended before i got there still got two Shiny Electabuzz from it. didnt have any success on my dewpider or metang outbreaks, also got a shiny execute while trying to clear my Doduo outbreak. i dont particularly want a shiny Doduo but if i get one i will be happy. i have also gotten a few shiny pokemon from suprise trade and they have OT names like Zacian.net or Beri.chan or pokegz.com. they are all mons that can be shiny but id like to know if they are still legal to have. i know i saw a site where you could put the names in to check it but i dont remember what the site was any help with that would be wonderful

i strongly dislike most people that join the tera battles. for example one of the one i have dark tera Haxorus so weak to dark weaknesses and has dragon moves. so you would think people would bring fairy but they bring ice, Electric and fighting no fairy. there is a perfect pokemon for this and its Iron Valiant its fighting fairy so immune to all dragon moves and is super effective against dark type. i had a psychic poliwrath so water fighting and people were bringing grass steel dark. i will admit it took me a bit of trial to get the right one as i figured its a water type so ill bring a bug water pokemon it happened to have water absorb so it was good bug moves just dont do a lot so i was floundering there. tried a ghost type with Annialape almost got it solo fixed where i was lacking then went back to everyone and got people bringing steel ghost, dark, Psychic.

don't bring fire and fighting types for the empoleon raid
and potentionally steel if empoleon brings brick break or vacuum wave into the picture.
....with one exception.

highly recommend using volcanion.

guy has the fire type and has water absorb

if you beef him up a lot, he's going to be your best friend

oh, and when it comes to the empoleon raid, don't even think about unloading any stat debuffers

unless you want to set your team up for maximum failure

....anyway, let's just hope that empoleon doesn't have earthquake or mudslap either.
