Depends on the software you're using, but usually there's an option when you resize the image from 96x96 to 288x288. In GIMP, you would need to set interpolation to none.

Ok so a while back i took a request to made a sprite (Corsola/magmortar), but recently i saw that someone else made that same fusion a week or two before I did, whats the deal with that sort of double sprite making?

One becomes the main sprite and the other a variant. If you want yours to be the variant, post it with a letter at the end (example xxx.xxxa). Other than that I believe it goes to #dex-entries-submissions for the community to choose which is the main and the other the variant (when that gets back up and running).

Hi! I created a sprite for Gyarados (head) / Raticate (body) (wip, may share it later 'cause the default sprite is horrible), the sprite is named 130.20.png and I put it in the folder customBaseSprites of the game but I can't see it in game. I don't get what is wrong or if something is missing so I need your help! (also tell me if I am in the good channel for this type of request)

You've got two options as far as I know: Post it as an alt right now (although any non joke sprite is better than japeal) or you can request that your sprite no longer be main once one comes up to supplant it.

Most image editing software will do the job, but here are some commonly used examples:

Piskel: Beginner-friendly, easy to use, doesn't require a download. To resize cleanly, either export at a 3.0x scale using the slider, or click resize and set the width/height to 288x288 with "Resize canvas content" toggled. Link: piskelapp.com

Paint.Net: Intuitive and free, requires a download. To resize cleanly, go to Image > Resize, and turn Resampling to "Nearest Neighbour". Link: getpaint.net

MS Paint: Very simple to use, already installed on most PCs, doesn't support transparency so will need a second program to remove the background. Doesn't have layers. To resize cleanly, click the small option with two squares near the Select tool and resize via percentage to 300%. To downsize cleanly, use the pixels option.

GIMP: Free Photoshop alt, requires a download. Not very beginner-friendly, but useful once learned. To resize cleanly, go to Image > Scale Image, and turn Interpolation to "None" Link: gimp.org

Aseprite: Costs money and requires a download. Has certain advantages, but there is probably no need to pay for this when you are just starting out. Link: aseprite.org

PixelStudio: Fully featured mobile app, useful if you want to sprite from your phone.

Magic wand in most software. In CSP for example you can choose to select all areas with the same color. You could even create a correction layer so that you can use sliders to change the color.
