Your black outlines aren't placed correctly. Keep in mind that in pokemon sprites the light comes from the top left corner, so make sure your lighter outlines are closer to the top left and your darker ones the bottom right.

Hey @gloomy turtle! Sprite packs come out at the beginning of each month! There is no exact date, sometimes it can take up to a week for a all the sprites to be sorted and propped for release. Please go harrass Kiwi if she takes longer than that. :)

To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

Long story short, my rival's custom sprited Grimer/Voltorb ended up evolving into an autogen Muk/Electrode, so I decided to attempt to make my own sprite for it. It's meant to be a round ball Electrode with Muk arms and a Muk face. I've been told that this isn't Muk/Electrode, but actually Electrode/Muk. But I think this is good enough, and if it's just to fix the issue of "my rival's Muk/Electrode is autogen", would it really matter if it doesn't follow the spriting guidelines perfectly? And even if it doesn't perfectly follow the spriting guidelines, would this still count towards "create at least three sprites to get the spriters role", because if it does, it'll be the first sprite I made by myself

Thanks! Here are some tips I have for smog.
Gastly smog has 3 shades of purple with the inner most being the darkest.
I use photoshop to sprite and keep each of the 3 colors of the smog on their own layers. This helps when moving stuff around.
I also keep all the the different gastly sprites from each gen on the same canvas as a reference In a different layer for easy access. ( and sometimes even previous sprites I’ve made too)
After that it’s really all about feeling. I usually draw a reference smog first, round it out, then go in with the dithering at the end.
The floating bits are always the last thing to do and just paste them around into the places that seem empty.
Recently I’ve been adding in a few more shades of a more saturated purple on top of body parts that overlap to give a transparent feel to the smog.
You can go with the basic sprite recoloured gastly dark purple and smog completely surrounding it, or get a little adventurous and just envelop one part of the body or make that body part the smog instead. These are usually the ones with more distinct body parts such as hair or tails. Where you use the smog is always fun to see similar to cofagrigus fusions and their ghost hands.
Sorry for wall of text lol.

Hey @lament lark! Are you trying to add more custom sprites to your game? You can find the most up to date sprite pack containing all custom sprites in #downloads! To add them to your game, simply copy all the files into your game's CustomBattlers folder. The pack also contains alts and things such as joke sprites and regional variants, which you can also add to your game if you wish.

You can swap between alts of a given fusion in-game, using the Pokédex!

Hand picking seems easier for the folks that undersand the in and outs of spriting such as AA, shading, highlighting, dithering etc. etc.

I'm still new and I generally just attempt to match the colors from one pokemon to the other, I'm only just slowly understanding the techniques myself.

I wasn't aware of that about Piskel though, that sounds useful.

I’m not sure what you’re thinking, but what I do is just take a Pokémon and replace its colors with the corresponding colors from the other Pokémon

In best case you first show them in #1050404143807873157 to get some help and to be sure they are good and then you should be good to go becoming a Spriter

I made it in Pixel Studio on my phone

So the fun thing with Pixel Studio is when you open up a new sketch it asks what color you want the background and you can put it as transparent. If you didn't choose transparent, you can use the magic wand tool to select all white pixels (as it seems to be what color your background is) and delete it to make it transparent. Make sure you have the layer with the background selected. As for resizing, when you started if you started with a canvas size of 96x96 then when you save you can resize it to the correct 288 by selecting the x3 option in the save menu
