3.Charizard (Stan)
While the design is overall excellent as with all 3 entries in this battle, it still has some perspective flaws and does not catch the chosen theme as well as the other entries. The shading is solid.

2.Blastoise (Tene) overall amazing design, it suffers from perspective issues not exactly giving off that dynamax impression. Also the legs need some editing to fix the perspective and proportion issues. The “shell armor“ as design works very well and makes it an overall appealing design to look at.

1. Venusaur (Kiwi) of the 3 given Sprites this one came out on top. While the overall design lags in some points, which might have to do with the design of venusaur in general, the flower does a good job in catching and focussing the eye on a specific part of the sprite. The dynamax impression is also fullfilled greatly and the fusion looks enormous.

I think Tenes pointing system would work as long as you only consider Keks and Spleens to be judges.

There will definetly be a rule that in order to be a judge you have to be willing to give out points.

It's a Raichu fusion that doesn't lose the charm of Raichu, and while there were several of those in this competition, this one was my personal favourite.

first and for most, Stan improved his design greatly, while it isnt on par with Kiwi sprite quality, the design is really good
and for Kiwis sprite, as much as i liked the shading, i thought that the perspective was a bit too much/the legs too meaty and for my taste not enough of Haxorus was left

when Keks says mine has proportion issues with the legs, does that mean, given Kiwis sprite, that mine werent meaty enough? 😅

Personally my least favourite sprite did win, it's no surprise to anyone who knows me but super big for the the hell of it sprites aren't my favourite and the Dynamax ones encapsulate that way more than Mammuth's ever did. 😦

But that doesn't make it a bad sprite because the design outside of the size was impeccable. 😄

For forgotten I'm thinking of combining some forgettable Pokémon (if I do actually make a sprite), like Stantler and Corsola maybe. 🙂

So, since every sprite in the Dynamax duel between @tall moss @burnt bane and @zenith matrix has only gotten votes from two judges so far, the three have named me the third judge. Judging these sprites kinda sucks when I already know the other votes, because now I'm aware that my decisions decide who wins this 😂
But I tried to ignore all that and just vote how I really feel.
That being said, here are my votes:
Kiwis Venusaur: 8 points. I really really love the design, the pose and the giant flower. The dynamax effect is also perfectly done. What I don't love are the thick legs, as well as the fact that the flower makes up so much of the sprite.

Stans Charizard: 8 points. Compared to your earlier version this one is a step up by 100%! The pose is great and when it comes to pure design itself, this might even be my favorite. I think the other two did a better job with the dynamax colors and shading and are a bit more refined in general.

Tenes Blastoise: 8 points. This one has an amazing design as well and the dynamax effect, especially with the smoke comming out of the cannons is probably as good as it can be. The one thing that stops this sprite from being perfect for me is that the shell on the lower body looks a bit awkward.

So yeah, all in all I pretty much like all the sprites equally, even if for different reasons. That also means that the result won't change, making Tene and Kiwi still the winners. But congrats to all 3 from me ❤️

Spriting Duels

Introducing Spriting Duels, a new way to compete with other spriters for glory and useless internet points!

Here is how it works:
Every spriter can challenge any other spriter to a duel. If that other person accepts the duel, you are good to go. How many people participate in a duel is up to you. It can be a 1 vs.1, a 2 vs.2 or even a 1 vs.1 vs.1. Everything is possible!
You then have to decide for 3 people to act as judges for your duel. Anyone can be a judge as long as every duelist is fine with them.. Every judge will give every sprite a score between 0 and 10 and the sprite with the most points wins.
The results of the duel will then be noted down in the sheet you find down below. In that sheet you will also find a ranking system that gives every person that has taken part in a duel a rank. Those numbers will of course update after every duel, so I hope that there will be a constant struggle for the number one spot!
After a duel has been finished, please contact me with the results and I will update the sheet.

When it comes to how to structure your duel, that is up to you. The possibilities are endless. All the duelists can decide on a theme (which can be a certain Pokémon, a broad theme or something very specific) or they can appoint one of the judges to decide on a theme. The time limit is the same. You can either go with a very short duel where there are only a few minutes/hours to sprite, or you can decide that the duel goes on for as long as it takes for every duelist to finish their sprite.

As you can see, how you arrange your duels is compleatly up to you, so I hope everyone has as much fun with this as possible!

I think I agree. There are probably sprites I would have given a 10/10, but none I would have given a 100/100 if you get what I mean

We had 3 good and high quality sprites in the testrun.

A duel between people on my level could have a 9/10 thats not comparable to kiwis or tenes sprite

Although I also love to make them when I'm not burned out and busy.
