oof I'm new here and i wasn't going to enter the contest, but i ended up submitting something right before the time was up because i was messing around with Banette earlier and i ended up submitting smthing, but I'm not sure if I did it right or not, but at least I submitted something! 😄

Your sprite was at a 1x1 pixel scale on a 288x288 canvas. Standard procedure is to make a 1x1 pixel scale sprite on a 96x96 canvas and then resize to 288x288, but I changed your canvas size for you so that the program would read it in.

Anything from the Smogon Sprite Projects just kinda shows up and is never credited. Not one person credited their Mimikyu that they got from there, for instance.

Consider it a flaw in the system, but it is not the system I put in place.

as the game has its one shadows (?) ( tbh i dont know if it actually does but normal pokemon games add shadows ) and even then its out of place.

there are excuses for that when the shadow is part of the pokemon

but it clearly isnt in that case

The beldum . its a quick simple sprite. kinda lacking. not much to it.

hes a flappy lil chonky boy

as banette is supposed to be an evil possesed animated doll. i wanted tomake something that couldnt even scare a child without leaving out any of its designe features. so i softened it up . and made him do something silly. as togekiss is a " DOVE" somehow.... i made him go flapping around

it looks goofy but thats what i aimed for

Tbh honest it was a rushed design I made in a few hours, didnt commit too much to it, I was actually spending most of my free time on doing other sprites stuff

The reason the tongue might look inconsistent is because I made it a bit darker, so it would look more like an actual tongue

But if you dont like it, its ok

Also I tried like something different to change a bit from my spriting style. One can certainly make mistake when if tries new things

the electrode one... that one is just weirrd .. its so.. even .. and looking straight at the viewer.. and the cotton coming out of its mouth its unsetteling

its not bad but its making me uncomfortable looking at it

the metagross one. my third creation . made just shortly befor the contest submissions got closed i personally prefer that one over my other 2 entrys but who knows. i thought of the hand / claws coming out of some sort of wallet shaped pocket and the head being like a gimpsuit mask

with the mouth zipped shut. hueh

cool sprite though the spirit part kinda remindse me of scableye more than banette. dunno why and the line where the . i guess ripped cloth goes over into spirit could have been.. less of just a mono coloured line but get some shading aswell . i dont know how to explain that but well.

the left arm is somewhat out of place too and the stone.. disk? id love to know the inspiration behinde that one as i cant think of any reason making it a stone.. disk (?) but decent sprite anyways

That's why I called it Face Your Fears instead, so that you still have something to work with if not a phobia. Also because it sounds better.

some peeps saw my entry while i was streaming on vc and that reassured me so ill post it here to explain the concept :y

social anxiety, fear of judgement, specifically the fear of being seen as a inferior and inadequate, as opposed to the cool and amazing person i want to be, hence the broken claydol shell (that has exploud and loudred details) revealing the teeny scared whismur inside. then the eyes watching it are of course because the fear comes from being seen by others as something negative. but that anxiety all happens in one's own head, so i though it fit that the eyes judging it would be its own 🙂

I'm probably not gonna participate because I've got a lot on this week and I'm feeling a bit sick, but I'll post my fears and some ideas I had for them:

Moths - Venomoth / Volcarona, probably too boring and wouldn't really have a wow factor
Death - Shedinja / Spiritomb, the Odd Keystone is a grave and Shedinja is an angelic soul rising up to Heaven
Loneliness - Exeggcute / Pyukumuku, A bunch of laughing Exeggcute using the yolk (replacing the innards) to push away one of the group who's now crying
Being Misunderstood - Absol / Darkrai, mostly because they're two Pokémon that can be misunderstood

I have a really niche fear which is a TV turning itself on when I'm trying to sleep, that idea isn't necessarily easy to convey as a fusion but it'd involve Rotom in some way. 😅
