the sizing of your pixel art is 464x352. after its resized like that, you resize the canvas to 512x384. so there should be transparent pixels around it so it fits in the trainer card overlay. hope this helps

Ultimately I think two things are true

1. The wording on the announcements is slightly ambiguous. "Made" does leave room for these sort of questions. "Started" would be a more clear statement of intent, if they want genuinely fresh sprites.

2. Asking questions like these is in a way self-reporting . If the judges do decide the rule means "the sprite must be 100% fresh from after the announcement" then questions like this may lead them to suspect your submissions aren't rule abiding.

Ultimately its at their discretion so who knows.

Ultimately the goal of most events is to get people to make sprites to get put in the game. What they dont want is someone submitting a sprite three times to different things because its good and valid.

So if a contest gets you to finish a sprite off and get it in a usable state for the game, when it otherwise would've sat in a folder forever? Maybe thats better than forcing people to make fresh sprites

We're all just theories until someone involved gives a decision

For future rules I think something more specific like

1. Your entry must not have been spriteworked previously.

Or

2. Your entry must have been started after this announcement.

Would solve the clarity issue.
