I was brainstorming something about an older kid contemplating the ethics of fusion (because the creation of the Master Ball tilted things out of the favor of the Pokémon already) and so she bought a lucario to fuse with her Pokémon (because they understand human speech, according to the dex) and the two have a long conversation about the ethics of fusion, the continuity of self, philosophies of embodiment and compatibility
And then I brainstormed that at the end, she’d ask something silly to deflate the tension and wrap things up, like (because lucario) “What’s with the jorts?”
